’Sly. Far too sly!’ Zhang Yuanjun thought, looking at Lu Cheng. ’If I’d known this was his game, I would have approved his leave a few days later!’

Lu Cheng couldn’t have cared less what Zhang Yuanjun was thinking. As soon as he got permission to leave, he hurried out of the director’s office and headed for home.
Worried that Shen Nian might be hungry, Lu Cheng made a detour to the cafeteria. He found a cook he knew and had him whip up a few of Shen Nian’s favorite dishes to go before heading back in the direction of his dorm.
He drew quite a few stares along the way. The radiant joy on his face was simply too stark a contrast to his usual "Cold-faced King Yan" demeanor.
Lu Cheng paid them no mind. The only thing on his mind was Shen Nian, waiting for him in his dorm.
He just wanted to see her as soon as possible and make sure she was alright.
He hurried all the way back, but as he reached his door, his pace slowed. Lu Cheng even felt a twinge of nervousness as he knocked lightly.
He knocked twice and waited for a while, but Shen Nian didn’t answer.
’Did she fall asleep because she was too tired? Or maybe she felt cooped up and went out?’
With this in mind, Lu Cheng decided not to knock again. ’If she’s that tired, I don’t want to wake her.’
So, Lu Cheng took out his dorm key and opened the door.
