"He’s not here. He’s in B City. When we go back, I’ll take you to see him when I have time. There are other people I need to introduce you to as well."

Those people in B City had to be from another one of Lu Cheng’s social circles, one outside of his company! Shen Nian suddenly found she couldn’t wait to become a part of it!

Lu Cheng and Shen Nian returned in such a hurry that they hadn’t notified their family. The Lu Family had only received word that Shen Nian had arrived safely in B City; they had no idea the two of them were already back home.
So, when Lu Xinyue, just home from school, saw her brother and sister-in-law near their front door, her eyes widened in utter disbelief.
"Brother, Sister-in-law, it’s really you! I thought I was seeing things! You two... how did you get back so suddenly?"
Lu Xinyue had assumed that since Shen Nian had gone to find Lu Cheng, she would surely stay with him for a while, and might even come back alone later.
She never would have imagined that Shen Nian, who had only been gone for a few days, had already managed to whisk her brother back home!
’Ugh, what am I thinking? My brother and sister-in-law are as aboveboard as it gets; how can I use a word like ’whisked’?!"
"Your brother happened to have some time off, so we came back together."
Shen Nian said with a smile, looking at Lu Xinyue.
"That’s great! Mom and Dad will be so happy when they find out! Brother, Sister-in-law, let’s hurry home!"
Lu Xinyue had originally planned to drop off her schoolbag after school and go hang out with friends. But now that her brother and sister-in-law were back, all thought of going out had vanished. She had to get home with them right away!
