Chapter 84: Chapter 84: This Man Is Very Good at It

Qin Wenhao nodded. "Alright."

After Mrs. Qin finished giving her instructions, she left with Lan Qingman.

Qin Wenshu also felt awkward staying. "Brother Wenhao, Sister-in-law, I’ll be going now. About that bicycle—"

Fu Mingxue cut him off. "Just take the bicycle for now! I don’t need it at the moment."

Qin Wenshu figured leaving the bicycle at the hospital wasn’t a good idea, so he nodded. "Alright, that works."

Once they had all left, only Qin Wenhao and Fu Mingxue remained in the hospital room.

Fu Mingxue walked over to the two beds and looked at the children lying in them. They were just over a year old and looked terribly frail.

This couldn’t help but make her think of Song Yan’s three children from her past life.

They had been just as small back then, always falling ill. And since they were triplets, whenever one got sick, the other two would usually come down with it as well.

Taking care of those three children all by herself had been utterly draining.

On top of that, she’d also had to care for the paralyzed and verbally abusive Mother Song.

And after pouring her heart and soul into it, all she got in return were three ungrateful brats—

"What’s wrong?" Qin Wenhao had walked over, pulling Fu Mingxue from the depths of her past-life memories.

"Besides the fever, what other symptoms do they have? How long has it been?"

Qin Wenhao looked at her. "They started with diarrhea and a fever last night. I think they caught a chill and got a fright. They were a bit better after taking medicine this morning. The diarrhea has stopped, but their temperature is thirty-nine degrees."

"However, it’s gone down a little since they took the medicine."

Fu Mingxue felt the two little ones’ foreheads. They were indeed still a bit feverish.

Looking at the two frail children, her somewhat hardened heart softened a little.

’After all, they were such poor children. At such a young age, their own father had sacrificed his life, and their own mother had remarried.’

’Oh well. For now, she would just focus on taking good care of them.’

"I forgot to tell you something. I had a run-in on the street with that fiancée of Qin Wenshu’s, Zhao Sisi. I ended up slapping her a few times. That won’t cause problems for you, will it?"

Fu Mingxue looked at him.

’If he dared say it was a problem—they were through.’

’She loathed men who would side with outsiders over their own family, no matter the circumstances. She couldn’t stand it for a second.’

Qin Wenhao was speechless.

"You got into a fight with Zhao Sisi?"

Fu Mingxue nodded. "That’s right. To be precise, I slapped her a few times and then pulled out some of her hair."

Qin Wenhao looked at her. "If you hit her, then she must have deserved it. And even if you do hit someone, it’s not going to be a problem for me. Besides, that Zhao Sisi isn’t Qin Wenshu’s fiancée. She’s not even his girlfriend."

Fu Mingxue raised an eyebrow, thoroughly satisfied with his answer.

"I thought she was your cousin’s fiancée. I ran into Qin Wenshu, and he told me the children were sick, so I lent him my bicycle. Next thing I know, this Zhao Sisi comes up and starts cursing me out, calling me shameless—"

She gave him a brief rundown of what happened.

Qin Wenhao already had a cold expression when he wasn’t smiling.

Now, his entire face looked as if it were layered with frost.

"I will speak to the Zhao family. They need to get their daughter under control."

His words took Fu Mingxue by surprise. ’Is he going to stand up for me?’

"Won’t this affect the relationship between your two families?"

"If they were concerned about the relationship between our families, they wouldn’t be so permissive with their daughter. Besides, you’re my wife. What could possibly be more important than you?"

"Here in Beijing City, you don’t have to worry about any of that. Just do whatever you think is right. You don’t need to hold back."
