The Lion charged towards Light; it’s jaws swung open, releasing a deafening roar that shook the frozen ground beneath them.
Light remained still, a single breath escaped his mouth as he gripped the sword lightly, twisting it around. The blade hummed in anticipation.
The beast’s icy blue eyes locked onto him as it closed the distance between them in a flash. Frost spread across the ground with each step, freezing the grass and stone alike.
Just as the Lion’s huge outstretched jaws were about to snap on Light’s skull, he vanished, a puff of dust left in his wake.
A streak of silver flashed across the open space.
The Lion’s jaws snapped shut on empty air.
BOOM!
Shockwaves erupted on both sides of the Frost Lion’s mouth.
The beast instantly spun around to catch Lifht descending from above, his dull but functional sword covered in bright white energy, the blade carved through the air like a fallen star.
The Lion raised a claw.
CLANG!
Metal and Ice collided, causing ice to blast in every direction, Light backflipped, swinging his blade low just before his feet touched the ground.
CLANG!
The Lion blocked it again, Light followed with a flurry of sword attacks only after images of both parties could be seen as the battle raged on.
At one point, Light covered his hand in dark energy, a single tendril manifested from it and struck the Frost Lion in its side, a deep scar that forced a streak of blood down the creature’s body,
The Lion yelled in pain and lunged towards Light again, forcing him on the defensive.
Light danced around the Lion’s attacks, every swing, every slash, every snap of its jaw. Light dodged every one as though it was light work.
A low growl escaped the creatures throat. It mane suddenly began to glow, the temperature of the battlefield instantly plummeted.
Light could feel the cold all around him.
Massive spears of ice erupted from the ground, thy numbered around seventeen to twenty.
Without hesitation, they all shot at light from every direction.
He sidestepped, dodging each one with practiced grace.
The ice spears shattered before they could even get to him, sliced apart by invisible arcs of sword intent, his slashes were so precise that every spear was split in half from the tip.
The frustrated Lion roared again, then opened its mouth as die as possible.
An enormous sphere of blue energy began to gather in the Lion’s mouth, the surrounding air crackled, the ground froze even more.
Even the leaves on the trees began to turn into blocks of ice.
BOOM!
With a thunderous roar, the beast released the attack.
A huge ball of frozen destruction hurled towards Light, freezing any and every obstacle that stood in the way, the pebbles on the ground included.
’You fucker.’ He cursed in his mind.
He raised his sword and imbued it with both the light and dark energies that swirled within him, just as the huge ball of ice reached him; he brought down his hand in one swift arc.
"Yin Yang Arc."
A single slash crossed the battle field, the light and dark slash split the frozen breath attack cleanly in two and continued on without losing momentum.
The Frost Lion’s eyes widened, a thin line appeared across its chest.
The ground behind the Lion exploded as the sword strike continued for hundreds of yards before finally dissipating.
The Frost Lion stood motionless, and a moment later it’s huge body collapsed into the earth.
The frost began to disappear slowly and before long, the terrain regained its natural sensation.
Light slowly lowered his sword.
He walked towards the lifeless body of the Frost Lion, and looked down at it in his usual disdainful manner.
"I guess I’m the king of the jungle now." He muttered to himself, looking listlessly at it.
"Well at least I have dinner for tonight, I’ll make camp here tonight."

Jacob and Xenia had returned to the small room in the pocket world and sat in their usual positions on the mat.
They immediately took deep breaths and began cultivating for the umpteenth time.
Thirty minutes passed by like thirty seconds, and it was finally time for the final phase of the defense test.
10... 9... 8... 7.. 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... 0
Phase Three Begins.
The silence was louder than it had ever been, Jacob and Xenia sat in the middle of the brightly lit room with steady breaths.
The first attack was for Jacob, the air suddenly became heavy, he felt it, crashing down on him from above.
He directed his Qi upwards and tried hard to hold it but it crushed down even harder. He tried his best to hold it up, but it seemed the harder he tried, the heavier it became.
His breaths were uneven, his position was compromised, he was on the verge of breaking his cultivation.
Xenia, on the other hand slowly guided her Qi through her body, fixating it on her palms and raising her hands up as the heavy air pressure crashed down on her. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
She found it relatively easy to hold up such energy as she had already discovered a way to pass the third phase from the first one.
Jacob still struggled as the air crashed down on him, he suddenly heard a voice in his head.
"Strength will not help you Jacob, use your Qi, guide it properly and turn that heavy boulder into a Little Rock."
The voice was unfamiliar but he decided to do what the voice told him, as he had no other choice.
He slowly directed his Qi all over his body, but focused the most amount on his palms.
The boulder became lighter with each passing second, and before long, he was carrying it with ease.
He steadied his breathing and concentrated, he discovered that the trick wasn’t just moving your Qi to your hands but finding the right balance in every part of his body.
Phase Three, ending in three hours.
