Chapter 91: 91- Miseries
Lina was busy taking pictures of the wedding couple when her photography assistant, Saya, asked her to take a break.
"Lina. Interested in hot dogs?" He asked her when she was sitting on a bench, going through her shots.
"Yes, please," she said without looking up.
Grabbing a wrapped hot dog, she took a bite and made a face, "The shots with that tree. They need to be taken again."
Saya came closer to have a look at her camera screen and then bobbed his head, "We need to wait for the sun to go down."
Lina got to her feet and stretched herself, "I can’t. Need to get back on time. Someone is waiting."
"Someone?" he raised a brow with a smirk, "Boyfriend?"
The friendly smile on her face vanished, and in its place was a stern expression, "None of your business, mate."
Saya regretted instantly, "I’m sorry... I didn’t mean to pry. I was just teasing..."
Lina raised her palm in front of his face, "No need to tease, Saya. We are just work colleagues. Not friends."
He nodded and placed his camera nearby, "I need to go to the bathroom. Ask the bride to do a few touch-ups before resuming the shoot."
He left and didn’t wait for her response. Lina pressed her lips into a thin line and almost smashed her half-eaten hot dog.
She then decided to check her phone. She needed to see if Sia was okay. Since childhood, she was an orphan and had no one except her.
They were both more like sisters to each other.
Sia used to invite her for home-cooked meals even when her sister and mother used to make faces, giving Lina a clear message that she was not welcome there.
Now, when her friend needed her, she couldn’t abandon her.
She opened her phone to check the camera that was installed in her living room. What she saw there was enough to make her blood boil.
Hunter was at her place and was sweet-talking to her friend. He must be there to take her home. Though she couldn’t hear their conversation, she saw Hunter carrying her friend to the sofa and then whispering something in her ear.
"You fool!" She muttered as her hands balled into fists.
Why can’t Sienna learn from her past mistakes? Why was she ready to trust another man?
Has she forgotten her goals? Her revenge?
She was disgusted when she saw Sienna sleeping in his arms. She couldn’t see his face clearly, but he seemed to be smiling.
He then raised his face to the camera, and Lina felt like he was making fun of her.
She might be your best friend, bitch. But she needs me more than you.
Lina tried to control her fury and forced a smile to her face, "Saya!" she called her assistant, who had just returned from the restroom.
"Hmm," he started taking big bites of his hot dog, letting the mustard sauce smear across his face.
"Do you know someone in Harbor Sen? I need to look into something," she then placed her hand on his shoulder, "Ever heard of Levisay International?"

When Sienna woke up, she looked around in confusion. She was in her bedroom, clutched by Hunter’s arms, tightly to his chest... to his naked chest!
She smirked and threw her arm over him, "I’m home!" she told him in a whisper.
"Me too!"
His sleepy voice made her eyes go wide in shock, and the cute smile on her face vanished.
No way!
"Are you awake?" She tried moving back, but he glued her face to his chest.
"Umm hmm."
"Why didn’t you tell me?"
"You never asked!"
Sienna groaned to hide her embarrassment.
"We are getting late for the office, Mr. Secretary..." She was trying so hard to stop herself from smiling, but it was next to impossible because of the man lying next to her.
What if this happens every morning? She asked herself.
"Tell me what you were thinking! Right now!" He held her jaw gently, making her look at his glasses.
"No... umm..."
"Ahan! Don’t cheat. You’re drooling, you know that? Now are you telling me or..."
Sienna narrowed her eyes and then shook her head, "No, I’m not!"
He raised his head to take a better look at her face, "Think hard before you make that decision because..."
Sienna cocked a brow, and he slowly leaned ahead. Sienna thought he was about to kiss her, but was taken by surprise when his nose tip landed in the crook of her neck.
"Ouch!" She yelped, "What do you think you are doing?"
"It’s called tickling!" He said with a shrug and rubbed his nose against her neck. Sienna raised her shoulder and laughingly started moving away.
"Okay... okay... I give up!" She said loudly, placing her palm on his face to stop him. He instantly kissed it.
When he waited, she smiled and placed her finger on his forehead, "But you also need to tell me something, Hunter."
Her finger started trailing from his forehead to his temple.
"What do you..." He cleared his throat, clearly affected by her touch, "What question do you..." he trailed off again when her hand moved near his lips.
He then gently took her hand and pressed a kiss against it again, "What do you want to know, sweetheart? My eye color?"
She tried to free her wrist, but he didn’t let it go, "Don’t do that, Sienna," He said her name that was rare. freeweɓnøvel.com
"Fine. Don’t tell me your eye color. At least tell me why you wear these dark shades all the time."
He placed his head on the same pillow that was under her head and held her hand, "I had an eye surgery, and the doctor asked me... to wear it all the time. My eyes are sensitive to the light."
He then turned his head to look at her face, "What were you thinking?" He asked her and saw the blush darkening on her face.
She propped up on her elbow, "Do you really want to know?" she asked him with a mischievous smile on her face. When he nodded, she bent ahead and took her lips near his ear, "I was thinking..." she purred, "... about BREAKFAST!" She shouted the last word, and before he could understand, she had jumped out of bed and had run away into the bathroom.
"Brat!" He called after her and then smiled when he heard her laughter.
That was what he wanted to do. To make her happy. To see that smiling face all the time.
But he didn’t know that soon he would be the reason for all her miseries.
