Chapter 1374: A Treehouse Project ( 1374 )
Armand Nation.
Huge tree near Javier’s personal workshop.
Mimi was dragging a long, heavy wooden plank toward the base of the tree, huffing with effort as she pulled it across the ground. Her tail was stiff with concentration and her ears twitched with every step.
"Almost there, nya..."
In the distance, a squad of Armand guards patrolled the area. One of them, a squad leader, let out a weary sigh as he watched her.
"I wonder what Princess Mimi is up to this time."
"Who knows..."
Another guard nudged the one next to him. "Why don’t you go ask her?"
"Eh? Me?" The guard pointed at himself, his eyes widening in panic.
"You won’t get in trouble just for asking what she’s doing. Maybe she needs help or something."
The guard hesitated, then glanced at a passing maid. He walked toward her, rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish grin.
"Excuse me... um, would you mind asking Princess Mimi what she’s up to? We don’t want to intrude, but... we’re a bit curious."
The maid blinked, then nodded softly.
"Of course. I’ll ask her."
She smoothed her apron and walked gracefully toward Mimi, her steps light and measured as she approached the huffing, tail-twitching princess.
The guards watched from a distance as the maid approached Mimi, bowed gracefully, and began speaking. Mimi turned, placing both hands on her hips, biting her lower lip as her tail swayed excitedly. She pointed from the wooden plank toward the top of the tree, then back to the plank, her words flowing rapidly as she explained something with animated gestures.
The maid nodded along, listening attentively as Mimi continued talking and pointing, her excitement growing with every word.
One of the guards nudged his partner. "Hey... what do you think she’s building?"
The other guard gave him a flat, side-eyed look. "If I was that good at guessing, I’d already be in the Armand Special Ops Unit or the Elite Units."
"Ah... right. My bad."
They continued watching for a moment, until a sudden, cold shiver ran down their spines. The squad leader snapped to attention, his posture rigid as he pressed his fist firmly against his left chest.
"Your Majesty!"
The other guards followed suit, standing rigidly still as Garius approached, with Alf and Erinette walking a respectful distance behind him.
Garius stopped before the guards, his gaze sweeping over them before settling on the squad leader.
"What are you all doing?"
The squad leader bowed deeply before snapping back to attention. "Pardon us, Your Majesty. We were merely waiting for the maid to inquire what Princess Mimi is doing. We thought perhaps Her Highness might require assistance."
Garius glanced toward Mimi, who was still chattering excitedly to the maid, her tail swaying as she gestured toward the tree. He then looked back at the squad leader, his expression calm.
"I see. Continue your patrol."
The squad leader saluted again, his fist pressed firmly against his left chest. "As you command, Your Majesty!"
The guards turned in unison, took three precise steps forward, and marched away, resuming their patrol.
Garius smirked slightly and turned to Alf.
"Alf?"
"Yes, Your Majesty?"
"I wonder what one of my son’s fiancées is up to now." He paused, glancing at Erinette. "Where are Liana and the others?"
Erinette clasped her hands gracefully. "Miss Liana and Miss Gloria were summoned by Lady Fransesca earlier. Princess Felicia and Princess Delya are currently with Lady Gracelle, assisting with her training."
Garius smiled softly and shook his head. "Let’s go see what one of my daughters-in-law is up to now."
Mimi was still talking animatedly when she noticed the maid suddenly turn and bow gracefully. She tilted her head, following the maid’s gaze, and her eyes lit up.
"Ah... Father-in-law! Ehehehe~"

Garius smiled warmly, walking toward her with both hands clasped behind his back. Alf and Erinette followed a respectful distance behind. He glanced at the wooden planks and tools scattered beneath the tree.
"Mimi? What are you planning to do with all this?"
"Ehehe~" Mimi’s grin widened as she excitedly gestured toward the tree.
"I want to build a beautiful treehouse, nya! Since I don’t have anything to do right now, I thought I’d build it slowly, piece by piece!"
Garius let out a soft chuckle. "Why not ask the Armand carpenters to help you? They’re skilled and could finish it in no time."
Mimi clasped her hands behind her back, her tail swaying shyly.
"I didn’t want to be a bother, nya..." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Garius smiled, shaking his head before glancing at Alf. Alf returned the smile with a nod, raising his hand to his ear and touching his mana talkie. A soft hum of mana followed as he contacted the carpenter’s workshop.
A moment later, he lowered his hand and nodded to Garius.
"The carpenters have been informed, Your Majesty. They will be here shortly to assist Princess Mimi."
Garius nodded, a warm smile on his face. "The Armand carpenters will help you finish your project. If you have any specific design in mind, just let them know."
He began to walk away but paused, glancing over his shoulder.
"Speaking of which, why didn’t you ask Javier to help you build one before?"
Mimi scratched her cheek with a sheepish grin. "The idea only just came to me now, nya~"
"Mm... if you say so." Garius turned slightly, his expression softening. "Anyway, Mimi?"
"Yes, Father-in-law?"
"You should contact your father and mother after this. It’s been a while since you last visited the Beastkin Royal Palace. Don’t make your parents worry, especially your father."
Mimi’s ears drooped slightly before she perked up, nodding cheerfully. "Okay~ I’ll contact them later, Father-in-law! Ehehehe~"
"Mm... good." Garius smiled, his tone gentle but firm. "And don’t play with any dangerous tools. Let the carpenters do their job. You just focus on showing them the design you want, alright?"
"Okay~" Mimi bowed gracefully, her posture mimicking that of her sister, her tail swaying softly behind her. "Thank you, Otou-sama~"
Garius tilted his head, a strange, amused smile playing on his lips.
Wonder where she learned that word...
He shook his head, a soft chuckle escaping him, before continuing his walk toward the barracks at the back of the Armand estate.
