Chapter 1201: Chapter 1201: Encountering Qian Cheng on the Road
Jiang Xue’s body leaned forward, and she fell toward the earth that had come down with the landslide.
In the blink of an eye, Jiang Xue tried to raise her hand to grasp something to prevent herself from falling. But in the landslide area, except for earth and fallen trees, there was nothing to hold onto.
Unable to grasp anything, Jiang Xue’s face changed instantly, and her gaze narrowed sharply as she looked down at her feet. Where there should have been flat ground, she didn’t know when it had become a slope.
Realizing this situation, Jiang Xue’s expression changed again. At this moment, she couldn’t afford to worry about so much, raised her hand and slapped the ground, and leaped forward.
If it were a normal day, with such a leap, she could jump a few meters high at least. But today was different, one reason being that she was holding an umbrella, and another being that her feet had been trapped in the earth. The resistance was too great when she leaped.
Even so, Jiang Xue tried her best to leap higher, as high as she could. Fortunately, Jiang Xue’s skills didn’t go to waste; though she didn’t jump too high, she managed to land on a relatively solid piece of earth.
She lightly stepped on the earth block and turned to look at the path she had come from, only to see that the place she had stepped on before had collapsed again.
Seeing this, Jiang Xue dared not stay long, lightly tapped her toes, and quickly darted in the direction ahead. Not until her feet touched solid ground did she let out a sigh of relief.
At this point, she had reached the other side of the road. There were not many cars on the other side, just a few sparse vehicles.
She glanced at those few cars, didn’t pause, and quickly headed towards the main road. Due to Jiang Xue’s speed, those sitting in the cars only saw a shadow before she disappeared.
Jiang Xue walked quickly until there were no more cars on the road, then stopped and turned back to glance at the road behind her, gradually calming down inside.
She made it. She was one step closer to Mu Qiancheng.
After a brief pause, Jiang Xue started walking forward again. As she was walking, a neat sound of footsteps came through the rain.
Hearing the orderly footsteps, Jiang Xue paused in her tracks, and her footsteps stopped as well. The sound grew nearer, and a group of people in raincoats appeared in front of Jiang Xue.
Seeing those green raincoats, Jiang Xue’s heart leaped with joy. It was a group of rescue personnel, and they were holding shovels and other tools in their hands. Clearly, they were going to clear the road.
But thinking about the danger she had encountered before, Jiang Xue’s expression changed again. Even if they cleared the road, cars might not be able to pass.
Because the original main road was no longer passable due to the landslide. Unless a new road was temporarily built, which would take a long time.
A group of people walked past Jiang Xue, and seeing her standing on the road, they were slightly surprised. A few people even glanced at Jiang Xue and started to mutter to themselves.
In this kind of weather, why isn’t the young girl staying at home, and has come out here instead? Doesn’t she know it’s dangerous around here?
Of course, though they muttered, no one dared to say anything out loud.
As that group was about to pass by, Jiang Xue suddenly saw a familiar face, and couldn’t help but stumble, stunned.
Could it be? She actually saw Mu Qiancheng among the team. Was this a hallucination?
