The security guard at Chenyuan saw the two talking quietly at the side, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. To be honest, he’d been a guard for quite a while and had seen women seek out his boss, but it was the first time he saw the boss being so agreeable.
In the past, no matter which woman came looking for the boss, he never showed a pleasant face. This time was different; his joyful demeanor was palpable even from a distance.
"Jiang Xue, you want me to deal with Nangong Jun?" Nangong Chen looked at Jiang Xue, his expression unreadable. He already knew about what happened that night. But what puzzled him was how Jiang Xue had managed it.
To know, that night, he was always by Jiang Xue’s side. Yet, Nangong Jun and Nangong Yao were in trouble right under his nose, which stunned him.
This shock reminded him of when Jiang Xue saved him. Of course, that feeling was etched clearly in his mind.
He wondered if Jiang Xue possessed some treasure. Otherwise, how could she manage to do these things without anyone noticing?
"Yeah, didn’t I say they are your enemies? As the saying goes, ’The enemy of my enemy is my friend.’ Since we both share a grudge against Nangong Jun and his daughter, why not collaborate?"
"How do you want to collaborate?" Nangong Chen looked at Jiang Xue with interest, curious to see how she planned to deal with Nangong Jun.
Jiang Xue glanced at Nangong Chen and said, "Nangong Chen, let’s not beat around the bush. You must already be thinking about how to handle Nangong Jun. But you haven’t acted yet because you’re waiting for the right moment, aren’t you?"
Nangong Chen gave Jiang Xue a faint look without speaking. She was right; ever since he narrowly escaped death, he had been secretly eating away at Nangong Jun’s power bit by bit.
Actually, he could have acted like Nangong Jun and simply sent an assassin to kill him. But he didn’t want Nangong Jun to die so easily. He wanted Nangong Jun to fall from grace, to watch helplessly as what was his vanished piece by piece until even if he were alive, life would not be worth living.
"Seems like I guessed correctly." Jiang Xue looked at Nangong Chen, a slight smile on her face, and then continued, "Now is your chance."
"How so?" Nangong Chen’s eyes flickered as he looked at Jiang Xue. He had been waiting for an opportunity, but he didn’t quite understand why she said now was the right time.
"As far as I know, Nangong Yao is seriously injured this time, and Nangong Jun is hurt too. During this period, he certainly won’t have the time to manage his affairs. You can seize this chance to take over those things. Of course, if you think Nangong Jun isn’t injured badly enough to cause problems, I can help you ensure he ends up like Nangong Yao, stuck in bed unable to move."
"Are you serious?" Nangong Chen’s eyes lit up. If Nangong Jun ended up like Nangong Yao, it would indeed be a great opportunity, a chance to keep them down for good.
"Of course!" Jiang Xue nodded, then looked at Nangong Chen, awaiting his response.
