Jiang Xue heard these voices, her eyes flickered, and she couldn’t help but quicken her pace. Nangong Chen glanced at Jiang Xue, wanting to ask but finding it inappropriate to speak.
In the end, he didn’t ask anything, just silently accompanied Jiang Xue as they walked forward.
Fortunately, before they had gone far, Nangong Chen’s driver drove up to them. Nangong Chen pulled Jiang Xue into the car and then instructed the driver to take Jiang Xue home.
The car started and headed toward the gate. Halfway through, it passed by a police car and an ambulance. Jiang Xue glanced casually at the vehicles speeding by and then withdrew her gaze.
All the way, Jiang Xue and Nangong Chen didn’t speak again until the car stopped, and Jiang Xue realized they had arrived at her residential area.
She turned to Nangong Chen to say thank you, then got out of the car and left.
Nangong Chen watched Jiang Xue get out of the car, go upstairs, and saw the lights on her floor turn on before instructing the driver to leave. After leaving, he did not return to the previous place but went back to Chenyuan.
Today, he didn’t see firsthand what happened between Nangong Yao and Nangong Jun. But from the yelling, and the simultaneous arrival of the police car and ambulance, Nangong Chen could guess that something had definitely happened between Nangong Yao and Nangong Jun.
As for exactly what happened, Nangong Chen wasn’t in a hurry. He believed he would find out the next day.
Thinking this way, Nangong Chen entered the study. Today, he had spent almost the whole day revolving around Jiang Xue, with no time to deal with family and company matters.
As for Jiang Xue, after returning home, she took a bath and brought out Little Reunion from the space, then went straight to bed for a rest. When she woke up, it was already past seven in the morning.
Seeing it was still early, Jiang Xue put her son back into the space, washed up, changed her clothes, and went out to buy groceries.
Since Lu Jintian was in the hospital, she planned to make him some soup. She boiled fish soup yesterday, and today she intended to brew some chicken soup.
Luckily, her place wasn’t too far from the market, only a half-hour walk away. Jiang Xue went directly to the market, bought a chicken, and some other fresh vegetables to bring back.
Back at home, Jiang Xue cooked an egg custard for Little Reunion, made herself a bowl of noodles, and then began to prepare the chicken she had bought.
Since it was for soup, Jiang Xue didn’t chop the chicken but put the whole thing into the pot, slowly letting it stew.
She simmered it for two hours, and the chicken was well-cooked, and the soup was fragrant and rich. Jiang Xue then ladled the chicken soup out into a thermos.
After finishing, she fed Little Reunion a bowl of chicken soup, and cooked some noodles for him, then set off for the hospital.
At the hospital, only Lu Jintian and the family maid were in the ward. Lu Zheng seemed to be busy with company affairs elsewhere.
When Jiang Xue entered, Lu Jintian happened to be awake. Seeing her arrive, Lu Jintian was very happy and greeted her with a smile, "Xue’er, you’re here!"
"Brother, how are you feeling?" Jiang Xue asked Lu Jintian while she put down the chicken soup she had brought.

Even though the doctor told him he’d probably have to stay in the hospital for a month to recover, he felt the doctor was exaggerating. He believed with his current recovery speed, he’d be able to get out of bed in no more than half a month.
