Chapter 1223: Chapter 1223: Reunion

In the evening, a group of fifteen people went to the roast duck restaurant. Shi Jing and Feifei had been there before, but for Shi Xian, it was his first time eating in such a big place, and his eyes couldn’t take it all in.

Wei Kaiyun carried him upstairs, coincidentally running into Yang Run Tai coming downstairs.

Both of them had excellent memories and instantly recognized each other.

Yang Run Tai nodded with a smile. Wei Kaiyun did the same.

His eyes unconsciously searched the crowd for that incredibly pretty little girl.

In this second life, she was the only girl he had met in two lives whom he remembered at first sight.

He was typically very slow with women and couldn’t remember their faces. She was the only exception.

Seeing Han Xiangjun teasing the little girl, her face was full of expressions, and that helpless little look was incredibly endearing.

"Uncle Han."

Han Xiangjun didn’t notice, he was teasing Feifei, but the little girl didn’t fall for it. So all his attention was on her.

Suddenly, hearing someone speak, he looked up and smiled, "You’re here for dinner too?"

"Yeah, I just arrived. There’s no table available upstairs."

"Join us? It’s pretty chaotic here with so many kids around."

Although Yang Run Tai was only twelve or thirteen, people couldn’t help but treat him like an adult.

"Uncle Han, will it disturb you?"

"What’s there to disturb? We’re just a family out for dinner."

"Thank you, Uncle Han. I’ll join you then."

"No need to be polite. Jianbin, do you still remember you and Brother Run?"

Han Jianbin had grown up, leaving behind his childish temper, so he nodded with a smile. Little did he know his smile was like Wei Kaiyun’s, with a mix of seven parts smile and three parts indifference.

"Hello, Brother Run, it’s Jianbin."

"You haven’t changed much, I recognize you."

Jianbin instinctively supported Feifei, a reflex action that had become a habit from living together. "Be careful."

"Okay."

Feifei was directly in front of Yang Run Tai, pausing everyone behind her.

Being held by Wei Kaiyun, Shi Xian got impatient and shouted out loudly for his sister.

Jiang Feifei waved at him.

Yang Run Tai looked down at the little girl, her long eyelashes made him itch to touch them.

"Run, let’s go together, I’ve reserved ten roast ducks, more than enough to eat."

Yang Run Tai turned around and followed them upstairs.

Facing the little boy, he was sure this must be the girl’s brother; they were about seventy percent alike.

The little guy was irresistibly cute. Although he couldn’t rashly touch the little girl, he could touch the little boy.

So, Yang Run Tai reached out his hand to touch Shi Xian’s face lightly.

Shi Xian’s hand quickly shot up, slapping Yang Run Tai’s hand.

Yang Run Tai was stunned. How quick the kid’s hand was.

Hearing the commotion, Wei Kaiyun turned his head to glance, "Shi Xian, behave."

"Dad."

Shi Xian wanted to complain, but his speech wasn’t clear.

Frustrated, unable to express himself, he demonstrated with actions.

One hand reached for his dad’s face, and the other hand slapped that hand.

"Uncle, sorry, my mistake, I just thought he was too cute and touched him."

Wei Kaiyun nodded, "He’s still young, sorry about that." But he didn’t scold Shi Xian.

Yang Run Tai raised an eyebrow, admiring how protective of his child Wei Kaiyun was.

The group went into the private room. Shi Xian ran to his sister’s side, holding her hand.

"Do you need Dad to feed you today?"

Yang Run Tai watched the little boy frown slightly but then went to his dad’s side holding his sister’s hand.

This little guy was really clever.

Everyone sat down casually, but the kids stayed together.

"Feifei, do you want walnut dew? It’s delicious," Jianbin tilted his head to ask.

"Sure, I also want almond dew, it’s good for winter."

Just then, the waiter came in, followed by five people carrying large trays; the roast duck was sliced in front of the guests.

"Do you two drink?"

Wei Kaiyun and Old Yang both shook their heads, opting for tea.

"Since you aren’t drinking, I won’t either. Let’s have black tea.

Xiao Jiang, what about you?"

"I’ll have what the kids are having, walnut dew and almond dew."

"And you, younger sister-in-law?"

Zhao Xiaoli smiled, "Me too."

The kids held their drinks, watching the chef slice the roast duck.

"Run, let me introduce you, this is my friend Wei Kaiyun, a great buddy.

Xiao Wei, this is Yang Run Tai, his uncle is Yang Zhongyi."

"Hello, Uncle Wei."

Wei Kaiyun smiled, "Hello."

"This is my friend Old Yang, you both have the surname Yang, he’s also a great friend of mine."

"Hello, Uncle Yang."

Old Yang also said hello. Sitting on his lap, Ah Bao smiled gleefully at Yang Run Tai, who found the child particularly endearing.

Yang Run Tai felt like he’d met three adorable children, the kind that made him fond from the heart.

The five roast ducks were quickly sliced. No one at the table was drinking.

So, it was straight to eating. Yang Run Tai watched as Feifei looked after Shi Xian, who ate with such bliss, it made anyone watching feel the food must be delicious.

"Feifei, you eat, I’ll take care of Shi Xian."

"Dad, you eat, I’m not that into roast duck, I’m waiting for the duck bone soup."

Shi Xian accepted the pancake his dad rolled and handed it to Feifei, mumbling as he called her sister.

Feifei smiled and took a bite, making the little boy’s eyes squint with joy.

Yang Run Tai thought they were simply too adorable.

He observed that the two families eating together were very orderly; it didn’t seem like it was ordinary people.

"Feifei, how about Uncle Han takes you shopping tomorrow? I have a lot of Overseas Chinese Store vouchers, shall we go?"

"Uncle Han, you’re so generous."

"Of course, my girl can have anything she wants."

"Thank you, Uncle Han."

"No need for thanks with Uncle Han. You can have whatever you want, I’ll be hanging out with you these days."

"Sure, Uncle Han, can we get a camera?"

"Want to take pictures? I can get a photographer to follow us, how about that?"

"That works, I just want to take more group photos."

"No problem. Everything will be ready by tomorrow, any other requests?"

Feifei shook her head, not having any other requests.

"Feifei, if your parents go back, you don’t have to, stay and hang out with Uncle Han."

"Leave Shi Xian with Uncle Han."

"Him?"

Shi Xian grinned at Han Xiangjun.

"That’s not impossible. But I still prefer daughters."

"Old Han, don’t bother," Wei Kaiyun glared at his friend.

The duck bone soup arrived. Wei Kaiyun served a bowl for his wife and a bowl for his daughter.

The rest all fended for themselves. A noticeable difference in treatment.
