Chapter 1221: Chapter 1221: Peace of Mind
"Right, once you go back, find my friend Wang Ailing. She has the keys, and you can tidy up the house."
Jing Chu nodded. She desperately wanted to return to Dad right away.
Wei Kaiyun and the others went directly to the street outside to wait for the bus.
At home, "Brother, you go buy tickets, I’ll call Dad."
"Okay, Chaoyang, you stay with Jing Chu. I don’t feel comfortable with her being alone."
"No problem, you go ahead."
Now at home, only Old Yang, his wife, and Zhang Qiu’e with a group of kids were left.
Originally, Shi Xian was supposed to go along. But Jiang Xinyu told him he couldn’t, so even though he was unhappy, he didn’t dare to make a fuss.
Before leaving, Chaoyang looked at Shi Xian, who was gazing eagerly at him. In the end, he put a coat on him and took him away together.
"Can Shi Xian still recognize Chaoyang?"
"Probably not, he just wants to go out."
"This little rascal."
"Isn’t he? Too clever, fortunately, Xiao Jiang can keep him in check.
"Xiao Li, what do you think of the house here?"
"It’s quite nice, I like this type of courtyard."
"Our home has one too, but I don’t know where it is. When we have some free time, we should let Old Han take us to see it."
"You bought a house and don’t know where it is?"
"I left everything to Old Han."
"Old Yang, I don’t want to go back." That place is a land of sadness, I don’t want to go back.
"It’s your decision, but you should ask Xiao Qiang’s opinion."
"Xinyu and the others drove back. We have nowhere to stay." Zhao Xiaoli was looking for an excuse.
"Mm, your health isn’t good, so it doesn’t matter whether you go back." Old Yang saw right through Zhao Xiaoli’s hesitation. She genuinely didn’t want to go back.
"But now that we’re here, if I don’t go back to burn paper for my parents, it seems improper."
Old Yang looked at his wife’s troubled expression. "Then when it gets warmer, we can drive back for a visit. We won’t go now."
Zhao Xiaoli thought it over, and found it acceptable.
Wei Kaiyun and the others transferred buses and arrived at the hospital.
They immediately found Vice Director Tang. Wei Kaiyun explained the purpose of their visit.
"Alright, you haven’t eaten yet, have you? Since you’re getting checked, let’s do a thorough examination."
This Vice Director Tang seems to have a very good relationship with Han Xiangjun. With his guidance, they first did a blood test, followed by an ultrasound.
"The hospital has new equipment, and the results are excellent. The doctor operating it is my wife, so she’ll be detail-oriented."
Jiang Xinyu and Wei Kaiyun expressed their gratitude profusely.
"No need to be polite, since Old Han asked you to find me, that means we’re family, so don’t be formal."
During the ultrasound, Jiang Xinyu asked Wei Kaiyun to buy some food for Shang Zhenkun, as he hadn’t eaten anything all morning.
The morning passed this way, and all the results came out. As Liu Xuefa said, it’s just old age. He hadn’t taken care in the past, relying on being young, and now that he’s old, sickness has come.
"I told you it was nothing serious, but you didn’t believe me. Now it’s confirmed, you can be at ease, right?"
Shang Zhenkun said this, but felt sweet inside. He never cared about having descendants before; once he was old, he had no desire to start a family.
When Wei Kaiyun found him, he didn’t consider much before coming.
Until living with them, with two children accompanying him, those were the happiest moments, feeling truly fulfilled in life.
Just as the doctor said, he used to be daring and hardworking, but now he’s truly making a recovery.
Seeing the family treat him like one of their own, caring and loving, Shang Zhenkun felt truly warm.
"Vice Director Tang, do you have any good suggestions?"
"Old Han has already arranged to meet Mr. Ding, let’s hear what he suggests. Personally, I think traditional Chinese medicine is the best for nurturing."
Now that the results are out, they can only wait for the old Chinese doctor.
Shang Zhenkun also felt a bit relieved. He used to not fear death, but now with emotional attachments, he doesn’t want to die, still wants to watch Feifei grow up.
With the same diagnosis, he’s less scared now and plans to properly take care of himself, following instructions obediently.
The three returned home, and lunch was ready; it was pancakes and rice porridge.
The Han family father and son were also there. Finally, the two tables were combined, and everyone gathered together.
Everyone knew that Shang Zhenkun’s issues were due to aging, not a sickness, so all faces were smiling.
"Aunt Jiang, we have a train at 3 PM."
"Alright, go ahead. Did your dad know you’re returning?"
"I called Dad. He said he’d come to pick me up."
Chaoyang saw for the first time a girlish charm on Jing Chu’s face, feeling bitter inside. Jing Chu is so wonderful, he felt unworthy.
Last time Master said that as long as he works hard and becomes excellent, there’s still hope.
But he knew he didn’t have that ability.
He truly felt unworthy of her.
After lunch, everyone went to rest. The three kids were used to being together, so they went directly to the study room, which Han Xiangjun had tidied up for Feifei.
Jiang Xinyu took the two young ones for a nap, while Wei Kaiyun and the others discussed matters in the study room.
"Since you two are here, do you want to go and have a look?"
"Of course, we want to see."
"I’m not getting involved; if you don’t want to make a big fuss, it’s best to send a message over. The elder also sees Doctor Ding."
The two understood Han Xiangjun’s suggestion and smiled, nodding.
The upper management instructed them not to act, and here there’s no need either. But since they’re here, it’s still best to meet with the leadership.
"When is your family leaving, Xiao Wei?"
"Once Master Shang’s examination results are out and a plan is decided, then we’ll leave."
"I’ve scheduled the time for four days later at 9 AM."
Wei Kaiyun nodded, understanding Han Xiangjun’s intention.
The three of them continued to chat casually.
At two, Guodong and the others left with their luggage.
Chaoyang also accompanied them. He wanted to spend more time with Jing Chu.
Until he put them on the train. He came back looking dejected.
Everyone noticed but said nothing; he must rely on his own efforts.
In the afternoon, Zhao Xiaoli again brought up the issue of going back with Jiang Xinyu.
"Your health isn’t good, so it really doesn’t matter whether you go back."
Zhao Xiaoli felt it was unfilial not to go back to burn paper for her parents, but always felt miserable upon recalling the past.
"Xiao Li, the living take precedence."
Zhao Xiaoli looked confusedly at Jiang Xinyu, contemplated for a while before sighing, "I understand. Before we return, we should take a trip back. It represents my heartfelt intention.
Oh, when you go back, sell my house. I’ll find the property certificate for you later."
"Alright, if we haven’t sold it by the time we return, I’ll give it to my friend to handle, no problem."
