Chapter 128: Chapter 128: A Day Trip in the Capital City

Wu Yun left the gym, returned to their suite for a shower, and then woke up a stark-naked Bai Yue.

SMACK! SMACK!

"Lazy pig! Time to get up! We’re going for breakfast!" Wu Yun’s mischievous hands found their mark, jolting Bai Yue from her drowsy state in an instant.

"Jeez! Are you an ox or something? I’m still sore all over..." Bai Yue sat up, pulling the blanket over to cover her chest.

Wu Yun chuckled, pinching Bai Yue’s cheek. "That’s just muscle soreness. You don’t get enough exercise. We’ll have to work out more often! Come on, I’ll take you to get some protein."

With a show of token resistance, Bai Yue got out of bed and shyly dressed under Wu Yun’s watchful gaze.

Flustered, Bai Yue didn’t dwell on the hidden meaning behind Wu Yun’s words.

During breakfast, Bai Yue was busy replying to messages on her phone.

Wu Yun fell silent, immersing himself in the system’s store. A peculiar service was featured in the daily recommendations: "DiDi Beatdown!"

Wu Yun was speechless. ’What in the world is this?’

Intrigued, he clicked on it. DiDi Beatdown: providing thug-for-hire services with various teams and price points based on the client’s needs.

Thug Squad (five people): A roughing up, 10,000 yuan.

Thug Squad (five people): Broken arms and legs, 100,000 yuan.

...

Custom-Tailored Services:

Vehicular Accidents: Tanker trucks, heavy-duty trucks...

"Accidents": Fires, electrocution...

There were even options for professional assassins, mercenaries, and so on.

Wu Yun was dumbfounded. ’This is the perfect tool for murder and mayhem.’ And no one would ever be able to trace these services back to him.

It had its pros and cons compared to items like the Misfortune Talisman, though. For someone like Zhang Peng, who had tried to steal his girl but hadn’t done anything too over-the-top, Wu Yun couldn’t exactly order a custom dump-truck-led funeral procession.

Still, it gave Wu Yun a sense of security.

’I wonder who’ll be the first to test out these custom services,’ he thought.

Since Bai Yue had taken the entire day off, they decided to visit some nearby attractions and do a little shopping.

Wu Yun had never really explored the Capital City, even in his past life. The last time he was here, he hadn’t been in the mood. This time... well, their time was limited.

Of the major cities he had visited, if he had to pick one for tourism, Wu Yun’s first choice would be the Capital City. He had already visited many of Rongcheng’s attractions more than once, after all.

For career opportunities, he would pick Modu; its economic importance in Huaxia was undeniable.

But for quality of life, he would choose Rongcheng without a second thought. He was far more accustomed to its pace of life and its food.

After breakfast, the two got into their private car, ready to begin their day tour of the Capital City.

Some might ask, "She can still go shopping and sightseeing, full of energy, after her first time?"

The only answer is that many people have been misled by novels. Wu Yun wanted to say that it all depends on the person.

Take the three times he’d taken someone’s virginity, for example. Not a single one had been like the descriptions in other novels—excruciating, tearing pain afterward, leaving them unable to move. That was all bullshit.

Looking at Bai Yue’s happy expression, it was clear she wasn’t affected in the slightest.

Wu Yun and Bai Yue got out of the car right at Tian’an Gate.

Even with the "autumn tiger" heat lingering, the stream of tourists in the Capital City was endless.

Following the crowd through the Tian’an Gate, they arrived directly at the Meridian Gate ticket office for The Forbidden City.

As tourists, taking the obligatory tourist photos was a must.

They took pictures as they walked. Thanks to Wu Yun’s photography Skills, even the simple tourist snapshots made Bai Yue look beautiful. She couldn’t stop praising him, surprised that he’d had such a hidden skill all through high school.

Just doing a whirlwind tour of the main sights without delving into the history of The Forbidden City still took them over two hours, a testament to the palace’s immense size.

After getting ripped off at an overpriced tourist-trap restaurant nearby, Bai Yue showed no signs of wanting an afternoon nap, perhaps too excited by Wu Yun’s presence.

Taking their private car, the two arrived at Wangfujing.

Wu Yun was once again reminded of the frenzy of women when it comes to shopping. To top it off, Bai Yue was purely window-shopping; according to her, she was just "enjoying the experience."

"You don’t even have the patience to shop with me. You don’t love me anymore!" Bai Yue joked.

But his reply—"I’ll just have to love you *properly* tonight"—was enough to scare her out of making any more reckless jokes.

Perhaps as a way of thanking him for the expensive necklace, Bai Yue insisted on dragging him into a store and buying him two pairs of underwear, which cost her four or five hundred yuan.

"Bai Yue, what’s your monthly allowance?" Wu Yun asked curiously.

Bai Yue linked her arm with his, snuggling up to his side. "Not much, only about two thousand yuan. But I have my own little nest egg! Don’t worry, I won’t starve!"

Wu Yun hesitated for a moment, then took out his phone and tapped away at it. A moment later, a mechanical female voice emanated from Bai Yue’s phone.

"Alipay transfer received: One million yuan!"

Bai Yue’s brow furrowed. "Ah Yun, I told you I have money. Why would you send me so much? What if your company needs it? I don’t want it!" she said, reaching for her phone to send it back.

Wu Yun grabbed her hand, chuckling. "Just take it. I sent it just in case. If some guy tries to steal you away by throwing money at you, you can just shout, ’I have my own money! Screw you!’ He probably wouldn’t even have as much cash on hand as you do!"

"Hey, don’t be in such a hurry to refuse," Wu Yun said, cutting her off when he saw she was about to protest again. "Besides, if you don’t need it, you can just hold onto it for me. If my business fails someday, this money will be enough for us to get by. Doesn’t that make sense?"

Hearing that, Bai Yue couldn’t find a reason to refuse. The serious look on her face gradually relaxed, replaced by a Sweet smile. "Fine. I’ll hold onto it for you. Then I can use this money to be your sugar mama later!"

Wu Yun took her hand as they walked. "Yes, yes! Whatever you say, my lady plutocrat. Come! Your humble servant shall treat you to a milk tea!"

"I get to pick both, and the tastier one is mine!" Bai Yue declared with a cute pout.

Wu Yun basically became a bobblehead. "Okay, okay! No problem. You’re paying anyway, right? Haha!"

"I’m going to kill you! You’re the one who said you were treating me!"

Passersby turned to look at the playful couple. Some of the older people watched with nostalgic expressions; they had once been like that, too. It was wonderful to be young.

They bought snacks as they wandered, and Wu Yun also bought Bai Yue a few affordable luxury outfits. He would have bought more, but had to stop under Bai Yue’s threats.

Time is always fleeting, and the day passed in the blink of an eye. After another warm and intimate night with Bai Yue, it was time to plan Wu Yun’s return trip to Rongcheng.
