Chapter 195: Chapter 195: What if someone enters?

The corner of Elara’s lips raised into a mocking sneer.

His words sounded unreasonable from any angle one looked at it. The tone he had used just now wasn’t a shout, and she had heard it clearly. So why couldn’t he just use that same tone to say whatever he wanted to say?

Still, she shook her head and moved closer to his desk. She only stopped when she was about three feet away from it. "I’m all ears," she said calmly.

A short scoff escaped Adrian’s lips as he threw the cigarette in his fingers straight into the trash can a small distance away. Then he leaned back against his chair and looked up at Elara, a faint trace of amusement flashing across his eyes.

"Let’s see," he suddenly murmured, his brows raising a little. "The circumstances of someone’s birth shouldn’t determine who they are. He’d still be exactly the same person no matter where he came from."

Elara’s jaw tightened, but her face remained blank. Hearing him quote what she had said word for word confirmed that he had watched the video. And now, not only did he watch it, he had even memorized it.

Adrian let out a low mocking laugh, drawing slow circles on the desk with his fingers. "And my personal favorite," he continued, his eyes still locked with hers. "I think the person suffering most for her death is... himself." He scoffed again, as if the words were the funniest thing he’d ever heard in his life.

His fingers continued to trail along the surface of the desk in a way that made Elara feel uncomfortable. "You sounded so certain. For a second, I almost believed it."

Elara opened her mouth to say something, at least to find a good excuse to make herself feel less exposed than she currently did.

"You really like getting into trouble, don’t you?" he muttered quietly, breaking eye contact and looking down at his fingers instead. "Every camera in the city is pointed at your face, yet you decide to defend me without a second thought."

"I only said what I thought was right," Elara spoke up suddenly cutting through his words. "It had nothing to do with you."

"Is that so?" he asked, his eyes suddenly dropping to her lips.

Elara noticed this and scoffed inwardly.

"Aren’t you worried?" he continued anyway. "Aren’t you even a little bit afraid of what people will start labeling you as? When a woman risks her entire career to defend a man like me, they assume she belongs to him."

Elara’s expression went cold. "I don’t belong to anyone," she said sternly. "Least of all–you."

Adrian’s expression remained composed. He then rose from his seat, unbuttoning his suit jacket as he stood.

Elara shifted her gaze to him, her eyes following his movements, but her feet remained glued to the ground as he approached and stopped beside her.

"Then you should have just stayed quiet or come to me directly. I don’t need you fighting my wars on a screen," he muttered quietly, his jaw clenching as his gaze locked onto her lips again.

Elara’s breathing stilled. She wanted to step back away from him, but she didn’t; that would only give him the satisfaction of knowing she felt uneasy. Instead, she looked sideways at him, her face remaining straight. "If this is wh–"

His hand suddenly shot forward before she could finish her words, his fingers sliding roughly beneath the hem of her t-shirt. He didn’t stop there. His hand moved up her stomach until his fingers cupped the fullness of her breasts.

A sharp gasp of shock finally escaped from Elara’s lips as she grabbed his hand instinctively. Without a word, she applied all her effort and pulled it away. Her other hand moved to his chest to quickly push him back, but he caught her by the wrist at once.

"Don’t push me," he said coldly, moving closer to press more tightly against her. Then he looked down at her, a strange sneer appearing on the corner of his lips.

The words he said next made Elara want to step back from his touch instantly, her eyes darkening with a mix of fury and shock.

"Undo my belt," he said straight out, without a single trace of hesitation.

Elara kept moving backward as he approached her again. It was only when her back hit the edge of his desk that she realized how serious the situation was.

"Do it," he commanded, stepping into her space again. "Feel exactly how hard it is to keep my hands off you every time you look at me with those eyes."

A violent flush rushed up Elara’s neck, staining her cheeks bright red. No matter how hard she tried to lock her face down, the audacity of his words and the heat radiating from his lower body against her thighs made her blood run scorching hot.

How could he say such a thing with a straight face? And why would he request something like that? They were in his office, and anyone could come in.

Elara’s jaw clenched. "You dare not do a thing here. What if someone enters?"

Asking that, Elara almost bit her tongue as she realized she sounded like a willing partner who was only worried about getting caught.

"No one in this building dares to open that door," Adrian said instantly, then he paused for a second. "Except Harris. And I don’t particularly care if he sees something or not." free𝑤ebnovel.com

Elara stared at him in surprise, wondering if it was Adrian standing in front of her or a doppelgänger.

"Since you were so desperate to take care of my reputation last night," he murmured again, intentionally pressing closer to her. "You can just finish the job right here. Take care of the rest of me."

"What?" Elara exclaimed, blinking.

Before she could process his words, he moved back just a little. His hand covered hers, guiding her hand downward slowly until he pressed her open palm directly against the center of his lower body.
