Chapter 29: William And Vivian

The words William was about to speak stopped in his throat when he heard Vivian’s warning.

He was now certain that, just like him, she also possessed memories from the future timeline.

The thing that made him the most curious was whose memories Vivian actually possessed.

Did she have his memories from the future timeline, or did she possess the memories of her future self?

If she had his memories, then she must already know what had happened and how he had ended up returning to the past.

But if she didn’t have his memories and instead possessed only the memories of her future self, then it was very likely that she didn’t know how he had come back to the past.

Another question lingering in his mind was why Vivian also possessed memories from the future timeline.

In his case, he had memories of the future because he had literally been sent back to the past by the trial of the God of Time’s inheritance.

But what about Vivian?

Had she also been brought back to the past by something?

If so, then what was it?

There were hundreds of questions running through William’s mind, but after hearing Vivian’s warning about not speaking of such things, he could only swallow them all.

"Seriously, I feel like my brain is on the verge of frying..." William said while rubbing his forehead with a wry smile.

Vivian also showed a helpless smile after hearing his words and shook her head.

"My situation is even worse than yours. From the looks of it, you at least have some idea of what’s happening. But in my case, I am completely clueless."

William’s eyes flashed slightly when he heard Vivian’s words.

Although she hadn’t said anything outright, those simple words contained a great deal of information.

"Completely clueless, huh..." He looked at Vivian thoughtfully.

’It seems that unlike me, who at least knows that I possess memories of the future because I was brought back to the past by the God of Time’s power, she doesn’t even know why she possesses memories from the future timeline.’

While William was lost in thought, Vivian took the cube-shaped metal box from his hand.

"I will help you forge a good sword. But you will have to pay for all the materials and the forging fee yourself."

William came back to his senses and immediately nodded.

"That’s only natural. I will repay you once I arrive at the academy."

Vivian didn’t say anything else and stored the metal box inside her storage item, which was a necklace.

"Then I will be leaving now."

William looked at Vivian, who was about to leave, and couldn’t help but speak.

"You have changed a lot."

Vivian paused and after a moment of silence, she spoke softly.

"People grow up. You can’t remain the same forever..." She looked at William and smiled faintly.

"Aren’t you the same? You have also changed a lot."

William fell silent after hearing her words.

He still remembered the huge argument he had with Vivian a few months before he was sent to the frontlines to fight in the war against the Abyss.

After that argument, Vivian had suddenly disappeared, and he never saw her again until the day he died.

The most ridiculous part was that, now that he thought about it, the argument had been completely illogical.

He wouldn’t say that he had been right and Vivian had been wrong.

Both of them had their own reasons, and each believed they were right from their own point of view.

However, now that he thought about it, if he had accepted Vivian’s suggestion back then, he might not have died in that war.

’If only we had talked things through properly, things would never have reached that point.’

Taking a deep breath, William looked directly into Vivian’s crimson eyes and spoke seriously.

"I am sorry."

Vivian was stunned when she heard William’s apology and a moment later, she burst into laughter.

"What are you apologizing for?"

William didn’t answer and simply continued looking at her.

Seeing that he had no intention of explaining, Vivian gradually stopped laughing before finally speaking.

"Do you think an apology is enough?"

William also knew how ridiculous it was to expect everything that had happened to be forgotten because of three simple words.

He smiled awkwardly before speaking in a pitiful voice.

"Big Sister... give me another chance. I won’t make the same mistake again."

Vivian’s eyes twitched slightly when she saw William’s pitiful expression, and she suddenly had the urge to give him a good beating.

Seeing that she still wasn’t saying anything, William took another step forward and leaned slightly closer to her.

"Mommy... are you still angry?"

Vivian’s entire body shuddered, and she instantly jumped several steps away from him.

"You..." Her eyes widened in disbelief as her ears rapidly turned red.

"Where did you learn to act like this?"

William was delighted when he saw her reaction and replied casually.

"I read some books from the Era Realm. They are called novels, and they are full of interesting things. From what I know, novels from the Era Realm are quite famous throughout the eastern region of our Vermilion Realm."

Vivian took a deep breath to calm herself before speaking through gritted teeth.

"You are not allowed to call me that ever again. And stop reading those filthy books."

William immediately showed a surprised expression.

"Are you sure you don’t want me to address you like that?" His gaze drifted toward her still-flushed ears.

"From the looks of it, it seems you actually quite enjoy being call—"

"WILLIAM!"

Vivian shouted through gritted teeth, glaring at him threateningly.

"Call me that again, and you are finished."

William felt his scalp tingle when he saw the dangerous look in Vivian’s eyes and he immediately stopped teasing her, knowing that if he continued any further, she would definitely beat him into the ground.

Seeing that he had finally become quiet, Vivian gradually calmed herself before speaking coldly.

"I am leaving now. Don’t do anything reckless before coming to the Sun and Moon Academy."

William nodded and spoke gently.

"Take care."

Vivian turned around to leave.

However, after taking only a few steps, she suddenly thought of something and turned back.

William looked at her in confusion as she walked toward him once again.

Before he could ask anything, she grabbed his arm and spoke calmly.

"Since I am going to help you forge a sword, it’s only natural that I collect some payment in advance."

As she spoke, she lowered her head and bit into his arm.

Her two canine teeth lengthened into sharp fangs, effortlessly piercing his skin.

William didn’t react to her action and merely sighed inwardly.

’It looks like I will have to put in a lot of effort in the future.’

He subconsciously touched the side of his neck.

In the future timeline, Vivian had always drunk his blood from his neck.

According to her, vampires only drank blood from the necks of the people they truly loved.

But now, she was drinking from his arm instead.

William was certain that she still loved him, but simply hadn’t been able to let go of everything that had happened back then.

’Well... I have plenty of time.’ He shook his head inwardly.

A few moments later, Vivian finally withdrew her fangs.

A look of satisfaction briefly flashed across her face before she quickly concealed it, not wanting William to notice.

Maintaining the same calm expression, she took a step back.

"Do you want a little more?" William asked as he stretched out his arm again.

Vivian shook her head and hesitated for a brief moment.

"What’s wrong?" William asked curiously when he noticed the conflicted look on her face.

After seeing his puzzled expression, Vivian finally opened her mouth and spoke in a low voice.

"There are traces of divinity in your blood."
