Eden entered the imperial palace annoyed. He checked Versem and saw that Shenyan and Yecheng were in the dining hall waiting. When he arrived in front of the doors the guards opened and he walked toward them. They both smiled angelically at him. Eden narrowed his eyes at them and asked:
"Didn’t we agree that I would move in tomorrow?"
Shenyan blinked his green eyes and said:
"We wanted to have dinner with you tonight."
Eden shook his head with a smile. He sat next to him and caressed his head:
"Your eyes are too dangerous."
He loves Shenyan and Yecheng’s green eyes. When you add Shenyan’s cuteness it is impossible to say no to him. And he loves him so it is that much harder. Shenyan smiled and Eden’s eyes softened. He looked at Yecheng when he asked:
"What about mine?"
When he saw that Eden had no reaction he opened his eyes wide. Eden and Shenyan couldn’t stop themselves from chuckling.
Yecheng smiled and asked:
"Where were you? They said you weren’t home when they packed your belongings."
"I had to see my father."
"Is everything okay?"
"It is, I just wanted to let him know I was moving."
Yecheng asked nervously:
"What did he say?"
He knows how close Eden and his father are and he understands because he is the same when it comes to Shenyan. If his father isn’t okay with their relationship he is sure Eden will feel uncomfortable being with him.
"He said that me moving here is like drawing a target on my back and he is right."
Shenyan and Yecheng became nervous but they relaxed when Eden said:
"But I can take care of myself and I already decided that I’ll deal with anyone who goes against me or someone I love."
Shenyan frowned, he knows everything that is happening in court including the feud between the Miaos and the Suns. Although he feels like it’s one-sided because Eden and the great general never tried anything against them. But now Eden seems ready to fight and he’ll have to once people know he lives in the imperial palace. He said reassuringly:
"Nothing will happen to you here there are guards everywhere."
Eden smiled at him.
"I know my love."
Shenyan smiled shyly with a blush. Eden pinched his adorable face with an amused smile. He let go and looked at Yecheng, he seemed to be pouting. That man always needs attention it’s crazy. Eden looked at him mockingly and Yecheng narrowed his eyes. When the doors opened Eden was excited, finally, the food is here he is starving. But all his excitement vanished when he saw who it was and he turned his head away.
Xinjie entered the dining hall with one of her handmaidens holding a bowl of soup. When she reached the emperor she bowed respectfully and said:
"Your majesty."
When she looked up she was shocked to see Eden. When she entered she couldn’t see him since he was sitting on Shenyan’s left. She felt her blood boil but she calmed down and bowed to Shenyan.
"Your highness."
Shenyan carelessly nodded.
She felt like slapping that brat but she smiled. She looked at Eden thinking he would get up and bow to her but he was just looking ahead. Even if he didn’t see her he must’ve heard her voice. She coughed but Eden didn’t react. She forced a smile and said:
"Noble consort."
Eden turned his head and looked at her expressionlessly.
"Your highness."
Xinjie’s hand trembled but she didn’t react. He still hasn’t learned his lesson but now that her father is back he will. Father and son looked at Eden who had a haughty smile on his face then Xinjie. They could tell Eden got under her skin or she wouldn’t have slapped him the day of his wedding.
At that moment Shenyan was so angry he was about to stand up but his father held him back. Yecheng doesn’t agree with the way Xinjie acted but Eden didn’t follow the appropriate protocol so she had the right to rebuke him and no one could say anything. He was grateful that Eden true to himself was the bigger person and let it go.
Xinjie snapped her finger and her handmaiden brought the soup as she said:
"I made this soup, especially for the emperor. I was hoping his majesty might try it."
Yecheng opened the cover and looked at the bowl. Eden smelled it and didn’t smell anything that might hurt him. He looked at Xinjie and asked:
"Your highness, which ingredients did you use to cook this soup? It is so fragrant."
Xinjie looked at Eden furiously when she saw his mocking smile. Of course, she doesn’t know what’s in this soup what kind of question is that?
What is he even doing here? She looked at the emperor and he seemed to be waiting for her to speak. She smiled as she bent down and Yecheng had a plan view of her cleavage. She grabbed the spoon and after filling it she aimed it toward his mouth.
Eden looked at them in silence but inside he was angrier than he’s ever been. Shenyan looked at Eden and could tell he was pissed. He looked at his father, luckily he had been looking at Eden too. Yecheng grabbed the spoon out of her hand and tried the soup.
He said:
"You can leave it here we will send someone to bring you back the bowl when we’re done."
Xinjie looked at the emperor stunned. Not only did he not look at her cleavage but he hasn’t asked her to stay.
She stood at the side when the food for their dinner was brought. Eden looked at the food with shiny eyes. Shenyan and Yecheng smiled at that. Shenyan looked at Xinjie and asked:
"Would you like to join us for dinner?"
At that moment Xinjie felt something she never thought she would feel when it comes to Shenyan gratefulness. She smiled and answered:
"I would love to your highness."
She took a seat next to the emperor happy that Eden had sat next to Shenyan.
Yecheng looked at his son with narrowed eyes and he smiled innocently. He knows better than anyone how much he hates Xinjie so if he invited her that means he is up to something. He looked at Eden but it seemed like he had figured the same. He was looking at Shenyan with an amused smile. He was reassured, he was worried Eden might be upset.
XInjie smiled at the emperor and he smiled back. She was batting her eyelashes trying to seduce him. Eden ignored them and looked at the food again. Even if he hates the fact that he has to eat in front of her he’ll enjoy his dinner nonetheless.
Xinjie looked at Eden who seemed to be thinking about what to eat and thought. She wants to show Eden that she has a closer relationship with the emperor and Shenyan. She grabbed her chopsticks and filled Shenyan’s plate, when he looked at her she smiled sweetly. Shenyan let her fill his plate with a smile. When she was done she said:
"Eat your highness."
Eden grabbed the plate before he could and gave it to the closest eunuch and ordered:
"Throw it in the trash."
The eunuch looked at the emperor unsure and once he gave him a sign he left with it. Eden grabbed another plate and filled it for Shenyan. Once he was done he caressed his head and said with a smile:

Shenyan smiled and he grabbed his chopsticks, he glanced at Xinjie who was frozen in shock.
She woke up and asked:
"Why would you throw the plate I made?"
Eden asked as he filled Yecheng’s plate:
"Do you want Shenyan to die?"
Xinjie looked at him wide-eyed then at the emperor in fear.
"Of course not what is wrong with you?"
Everyone knows how protective Yecheng is of Shenyan, is Eden trying to get her killed?
Eden looked at her and asked:
"Then why would you put turnip on his plate?"
Xinjie looked at Eden confused. So what it’s not like he’s gonna die if he eats turnips. She looked at Shenyan stunned when he said
"I’m allergic to turnip, If I eat any I’ll die."
When he was younger he ate it once and he was on bed rest for a week. He could barely breathe and he was in and out of consciousness the whole time. The reason he didn’t die is that he didn’t ingest a big quantity but even that little almost killed him.
She immediately said:
"I’m sorry your highness I didn’t know."
Shenyan smiled.
"It’s okay I know you didn’t."
She felt hopeful when she saw that Shenyan wasn’t holding a grudge.
She looked at the emperor and said:
"I’m sorry your majesty I promise I won’t forget in the future."
Yecheng nodded with a smile.
Xinjie felt like she could breathe again. She looked at Eden furiously, he was putting a plate in front of Yecheng. Eden looked into Yecheng’s excited eyes and smiled. He looked like a kid on Christmas morning. Honestly, he filled his plate without thinking, they would always eat together and most of the time they shared a plate. He filled his plate and started to eat.
Xinjie filled her plate and ate too. She’s never felt this angry before, she almost killed the crown prince when he was opening up to her. If he hadn’t inviter her she would be back in her palace. And Eden made this accusation when he knows how temperamental Yecheng is. Even if he often has a smile on and is calm everyone knows how ruthless he is especially when his son is concerned.

Eden smiled and said:

Xinjie gaped again and so did all the servants and guards. They felt like Eden would die tonight.
Yecheng looked at Eden stunned when he called him and he felt his heart beating faster like that calling meant a lot to him. When he woke up he ordered:
"You must always call me that."
Eden chuckled, even if he tells him that in every life it never stops making him laugh or happy.
"I will Gege."
Yecheng smiled brilliantly. Eden felt his heart beating faster, why is he so cute?

She stood up and murmured before leaving in a hurry:

They all looked at her go then went back to eating uncaring. Yecheng’s eyes flashed in amusement when he saw his son’s proud smile. Eden caressed Shenyan’s head and added food to his plate. Shenyan smiled and ate.
