When Eden opened his eyes a hand flew toward him and he was slapped. He heard gasps and looked around. Eden was in what seemed to be a celebration banquet. He looked at his robes and saw that they were covered in a soup like someone had poured a big bowl on him. Eden used Versem to augment his internal force and changed his body to the most optimal conditions after deactivating the pain sensory. He blinked to see what the hell was happening and received the universe’s information.
This Eden is a 21 years old ger who was born in the Zheng empire. His father Sun Weilong was the great general of Zheng’s army. Eden had always wanted to be an official and after passing all the imperial tests he became one. Everyone was surprised because not only was Eden a ger but he was the youngest official to ever become a minister. When the emperor Lin Yecheng saw how intelligent he was he named him the grand tutor of the crown prince Lin Shenyan too.
Empress Miao Xinjie was displeased when she found out. They had always been a subtle battle between the Miaos and the Suns over power. The Miaos always felt threatened by them seeing that Weilong and his father before him were the great general and his late wife a minister. When she passed away the Miaos were happy but it didn’t last long because a few years later Eden became the minister of officials.
Even if Xinjie was the empress and her brother Jingxuan the minister of war it wasn’t comparable to the Suns who were in charge of the army and the officials. Jingxuan had always wanted to be the great general so they decided to get rid of Weilong. When he left for the border after they were words that a group of thieves from the neighboring kingdom was pillaging villagers Jingxuan hired assassins to have him killed. Luckily Weilong survived but he ended up with a limp and a broken back with always having to use a cane.
Jingxuan was sure the emperor would demote him seeing that he couldn’t fight anymore but he was wrong. Lin Yecheng decided to keep him as the great general for all his hard work and loyalty to the kingdom. Thanks to the help of his vice commander Caishen Weilong was able to do the job. Once Eden investigated he found out that the Miaos were responsible for his father’s incident. When he told his father Weilong became worried that since their plan failed they might go after Eden.
After thinking Weilong met the emperor and offered his son’s hand in marriage. He knew that if Eden was part of the imperial family the Miaos wouldn’t dare to go after him. He didn’t care if he were to die as long as Eden got to live. The emperor agreed since it was advantageous to him. Eden only conceded to keep his father safe and became a noble consort. When Xinjie found out she was beyond angry and decided to make his life a living hell as the empress.
When the empress dowager died Xinjie became in charge of the harem and since Eden had become a noble consort it meant that she was in charge of him. She first humiliated Eden in front of the whole court during the banquet celebrating his marriage to the emperor by slapping him. Eden didn’t react because everything he was doing was to keep his father safe. He knew he had to gain more power to make sure no one would be able to lay a hand on his family.
As Xinjie made his life more difficult she noticed that his relationship with the emperor didn’t change but it became much better with his son Shenyan who the emperor adored. She had tried everything to get closer to Shenyan but he was closed off to everyone besides his father the emperor and Eden. After meeting her brother Jingxuan they put in place another plan.
When Xinjie stopped harassing Eden he thought that she finally realized that he wasn’t going anywhere but he was wrong. XInjie worked hard to become pregnant and as soon as she was carrying she put the plan in motion. One day the emperor received an urgent note from Eden asking him to come to his palace. Yecheng knew how serious Eden was so he went. When he entered the palace he saw Eden leaning over his son’s dead body.
Eden was covered in blood and was holding a bloody blade. Yecheng immediately lost his mind and strangled him. Eden had been drugged and the poison made him unleash his darkest thoughts. The venom made him want to kill anyone in his vicinity but no one knew that. Jingxuan had sent a note to Shenyan asking him to see Eden and as soon as he arrived he was killed by him.
When Weilong found out he killed himself since he had nothing to live for anymore. Jingxuan became the great general of the army and Xinjie gave birth to the new crown prince. Even if she didn’t like the fact that the emperor called him Shenyan as well she knew that she would always be safe now. Having the baby made her and the emperor grow closer and their relationship changed.
They had only married as an alliance but with Xinjie being so supportive when Shenyan died and always being at the emperor’s side Yecheng fell in love with her. Xinjie who had always been in love with him was happy and she was over the moon when he dispersed his harem just for her. They lived happily ever after and the Miaos became more powerful as every generation passed.
When Eden received all the information he didn’t laugh as usual. He looked at that bitch Xinjie. She had long straight hair and an oval face. Her eyes were round and she had a slightly turned-up nose. Her thin lips were pink, she looked pretty and from her attitude, it seemed like she was well aware of it. She was also wearing pink robes and a phoenix crown.
She warned:
"Don’t forget yourself ever again. Just because you are the minister of officials it doesn’t mean that you can act as you please. Now that you are a noble consort as well as long as you are in the inner palace you are under my supervision like all the other concubines."
Eden felt eyes on him and he followed them. It was a man in his early forties with dark robes and long black hair with a crown on his head. Eden’s father looked angrier than he had ever seen him and ready to kill Xinjie. He gave him a look letting him know that he’s got it under control and Weilong stayed still.
Eden looked at Xinjie expressionlessly. Not only did Xinjie have a maid spill hot soup on him but she dared to slap him because he didn’t call her by her title of the empress and said you. Now that the empress dowager passed and that she runs the harem she’s drunk on power. Eden will take everything away from her, meanwhile no matter what she says or does he’ll never call her empress. She forced a smile and looked at one of her maids and ordered:
"Lead the noble consort to one of the rooms so he can change his robes, he can’t stay like that during his wedding night."
The maid nodded. Eden smiled at Xinjie.
"Thank you, your highness."
Xinjie looked at him with disdain and went to his on her throne.
Eden turned around and walked to his father, he helped him stand up and walked out of the banquet hall with him. He walked slower since with his father’s injury he can only walk slowly with a cane. The people couldn’t understand why Eden would leave to get changed with his father but no one said anything. The maid led them to a room on the first floor and she pointed at robes on the canopy bed:
"This was the only robes available."
Eden smiled at her and she left. He helped his father sit and knelt in front of him.
When the door was closed Weilong seethed:
"That bitch dared to lay a hand on you."
Eden smiled ruthlessly.
"Let her do as she pleases because soon she and Jingxuan will die."
Weilong tilted his head at his son. He felt that his aura was different, like being slapped by Xinjie turned him ferocious. It pleased him greatly but he doesn’t want him to do anything that might put his life in danger, he can’t live without him.
"Be careful I can’t lose you."
Eden’s eyes softened and he reassured:
"Don’t worry I know how to deal with them without implicating myself."
Eden pulled out a vial from his sleeve and opened it. He handed it to his father and Weilong took it. He asked:
"What is it?"

"It’s an elixir I made. It will heal your leg and back."
Weilong drank the elixir, even if he knows that at most he’ll feel less pain he’s touched that Eden made it for him on top of everything he has to do. When he finished Eden gave him another elixir. As he opened it Eden said:
"This elixir will stop any poison from affecting you."
Weilong drank it and took another vial Eden handed him. He drank it too. Once he had ingested the three elixirs Eden finally relaxed.
He rarely enters a world where he has a father figure who loves him so he plans on doing anything to keep him alive. In the original timeline, his father killed himself when he died because he couldn’t bear to live without him. In the previous universe, he made a lot of elixirs and kept them in Versem just in case. Even if his father doesn’t show anything he was heartbroken when he lost the ability to fight. Because of his injuries, his back is always arched and he has to go everywhere with a cane.
He is in his early forties and still young but he seemed to have aged thirty years. Weilong looked at Eden stunned when his back snapped back in place. He felt all his muscles strengthen and his core felt as powerful as it did when he was 20 years old. Eden stood up and took a step back so his father could stand. Weilong stood up and walked first carefully then normally. He walked back and forth multiple times to make sure he wasn’t dreaming until he stopped in place and looked at his son teary-eyed.
Weilong immediately pulled Eden in his arms. Eden hugged him back just as emotionally as his father. Weilong pulled back and said:
"Thank you, I feel like I did when I was 20."
Eden smiled.
"You don’t have to thank me we are family."
Weilong hugged him again uncaring that he was dirtying himself.
After pulling back Eden looked at his father’s robes which were now covered in soup as well. He walked behind the screen and after pulling new robes out of Versem he got dressed. When he walked out Weilong looked at his son stunned. He caressed his head and said in awe:
"You look beautiful."
Eden smiled.
"Thank you."
"I just wish you were marrying the person you wanted to."
He feels guilty that he had to marry him to keep him safe. If he hadn’t hurt himself he wouldn’t have to use the emperor’s protection. Eden said:
"I am trust me."
Weilong nodded then he asked:
"Where did you get those robes?"
Eden smiled mysteriously and pulled out robes from behind his back.
"Get changed."
His father was surprised but he still went.
Eden walked to the bronze mirror and looked at his reflection. He had long phoenix eyes with narrow and thin eyebrows. His dark hair made his gold eyes shine brighter. He carried an aquiline nose that complemented his prominent cheekbones. His pale skin was like the silk of white rose petals making his lips redder. He styled his hair differently and let them down. He had a bun on top and put a pin in it. He looked at himself satisfied. As if he was going to wear the servant’s robes Xinjie had prepared for him. When his father finished dressing he looked at him with a smile.
"Let’s go."
Weilong smiled and they walked out.
When they were in front of the banquet hall the guards opened the doors and the previously loud room became silent as they walked in. The entire room was shocked to see Weilong standing tall, gone was the man whose back was arched, and walked with a cane. At that moment he looked like a fearless warrior and his dark robes and aura made him look even more dangerous. At that moment it made sense that he is the great general.
When they looked at Eden they fell into a trance. He looked breathtaking, he had ditched the simple white robes he was wearing earlier and was wearing red robes. They were beautiful and they had the most intricate golden flower designed on them. They fitted him to perfection and everyone wondered how his waist could look so tiny. He had a beautiful golden pin on his head matching the design on the robes.
Eden looked pure and lovely, especially with the gentle smile on his face. They felt like he was a deity who deigned to visit them and they all felt unworthy of that honor. Most of them felt like bowing to him. Eden smiled at his father and he smiled back as he took his seat. He went to seat at the head of the room since technically this is his wedding banquet. He looked at his maid and she woke up from her daze and poured him wine. Eden took a sip and relaxed.
He loves wines and alcool from any ancient era, it’s always strong and fruity. He licked his lips enjoying himself. Everyone’s eyes were still on him and the pure Eden turned sensual and 100 times more bewitching. He was like a siren luring every single one of them to their death.
XInjie looked at Eden in rage. She especially got him servants’ clothes, where did he get such fancy robes? They looked more expensive than anything she owns. She looked at the hall and saw that everyone was still looking at him. Xinjie looked at the emperor, he was looking at Eden like the rest, and her heartbeat quickened in anger. She looked at Eden with narrowed eyes and swore that she won’t rest until he and his father die.
