After tossing and turning for a long time Eden sat up and sighed. He stood up and put on shoes. He walked out of the dorm silently so as not to wake up Dawei.
Haoxuan was surprised when someone came into his office. It’s late and the only person who comes in without knocking is Qiping but he knows it’s not him seeing that he needs his 8 hours of sleep or he’s grumpy all day. His eyes lit up when he saw that it was Eden.
Eden closed the door behind him and stood in front of his desk with a smile.
"What are you doing here?"
Eden looked away and said:
"I couldn’t sleep so I decided to walk and saw that you’re light was on."
Haoxuan looked at the closed blinds then at him suspiciously. He gazed at him amused.
"You can’t see the lights from the outside when the blinds are closed."
Eden looked at his smirk and felt like slapping it off of his face.
He looked at him haughtily.
"Fine, then I’ll just go."
Eden turned around and left but he felt a spiritual force block his way. He stared at Haoxuan with narrowed eyes. His heartbeat sped up when he saw his smile as he was pushed by the force to his lap.
Haoxuan ordered after circling his waist:
"You can’t leave me. Ever."
Eden forced himself not to smile, he was surprised when Haoxuan became nervous. He coughed and asked:
"My father is having a royal ball on Saturday I was wondering if you could come?"
Eden pretended to think and said:
"Only if I have a plus two."
Hearing that Haoxuan was anxious, he was planning on talking to Eden about their relationship after the ball but he can’t do that if he brings Shangyu.
"Who would you like to bring?"
"Dawei and my mother."
Haoxuan relaxed.
"If that’s what you want."
Eden smiled, of course, he isn’t going to bring Shangyu he is done with him.
Haoxuan pulled him closer and murmured:
"I want you to meet my father."
Eden caressed his cheek and nodded.
"I’d like that."
Haoxuan smiled brightly. He and his father are close and he wants Eden to like him and vice versa. It’s always been the two of them so they created stronger bonds than usually, two Alphas would. He never met his mother since he died in childbirth, despite his father being the King he always put him first.
He immediately nodded when Eden asked:
"Would you like to meet my mother?"
Eden smiled, why is Gege so cute?
"I should go it’s late."
Haoxuan kissed his forehead.
"Good night."
Eden kissed his cheek and left after saying:
"Good night."
Haoxuan looked at him leave with a grin.
Eden leaned back and closed his eyes waiting for his turn. When he heard someone coming out of the simulation room he opened his eyes. He asked:
"How did it go?"
Dawei smiled.
"It went great. I only lost two crew members out of the 12 and I got 75 percent of the classified information about the enemy."
Eden smiled.
"Congrats I knew you would do well."
Dawei smiled brighter. When he thinks of his relationship with Eden now compared to before he feels happy and blessed that they are friends. He always wanted to be friends but Eden would shut himself to everyone including him so it was hard. He’s glad he’s open now and has many friends. When someone entered Eden pulled his hand so he would take a seat next to him, he could tell he wanted to ask him something.
"I’ve been invited to the royal ball and I wanted to know If you’ll go with me?"
Dawei looked at Eden unsure, it’s in the royal palace it’s too much pressure. He grew up in an orphanage he knows nothing about Haute society let alone royal.
Eden reassured him:
"My mother and I will be there the entire time, plus you’ll be at home and I don’t want you to stay alone in the house if you don’t go."
Eden held his hand and looked at him pleadingly.
"Please I don’t want to go without you."
Dawei shook his head with a smile and relented:
"Fine, I’ll go."
Eden smiled.
"Thank you."
"Sure. I should go good luck."
"Thanks."
When Dawei left Eden looked at the person who had entered and saw that it was Shangyu. He closed his eyes unbothered.
Shangyu on the other hand was extremely bothered. Since that day Eden has been acting the same way he was before. Ignoring him and acting like they aren’t engaged. When he looked at him just now he thought he would ask him to go to the royal ball too but he didn’t. He was already annoyed by the fact that Haoxuan liked Eden and now he invited him to the ball. Or maybe his family was invited, it wouldn’t be surprising seeing their last name. Even if he didn’t the thought of them having time together out of the academy depresses him.
When Eden’s name was called and he stood up he said:
"Good luck Eden."
Eden smiled softly.
"Thank you."
He watched him as he entered the simulation room. No matter what he has to do he will so Eden can think of their engagement as more than an arrangement.
Eden closed the door behind him and looked around the empty large white room. He looked up at the high command center when he heard:
"You are on planet Kayeala, you and your crew happened to spot a ship belonging to a group of Edeongi and decided to use that opportunity to steal as much information as possible about their next attack and kill them. You received a crude map of the ship on your terminal."
Eden pulled out his terminal and looked at the map. A door opened and 12 soldiers joined him. The empty white space suddenly shifted and it turned into the inside of a vast spaceship. After connecting their terminals Eden divided the group and sent them all to different places on the ship to take care of the Edeongi crew members.
In the command center, Haoxuan and Qiping were surprised to see where Eden had sent his officers. He thought that he would lead them together to make sure none of them would get ambushed. The most surprising was seeing Eden walking alone.
Yanzhao forced himself not to laugh, he sent Eden the wrong map and information. No matter where Eden sends his officers they’ll end up being captured by the enemy. He bent his ear when he heard Qiping ask Haoxuan:
"What did Eden say when you invited him to the royal ball?"
"He said he’ll go if his mother and Dawei can come."
Qiping looked at him expectantly.

Haoxuan smiled.
"I did."
Qiping beamed, since that day they held hands Dawei isn’t angry anymore. He even blushes sometimes when he feels him looking at him which he finds adorable. He wants to get to know him better and he’ll be able to at the ball.
Hearing that Yanzhao was furious. He looked at Eden as he advanced. He was at least happy to see that all his officers were caught.
When Eden was sure that all his officers were apprehended he entered the first quarter he saw. He opened a hatch and looked at the dark tunnel ahead. He entered it and once it was closed he crawled following the map. When he arrived at a certain room after making sure it was empty he opened the hatch and jumped down. He saw a large processor connected to a computer. He first connected it to his terminal, when he had the exact plan of the ship he took his time sending all the information about the attack to a key. As soon as he was done he opened a hatch and crawled away.
Yanzhao’s hands tightened into fists. What are the odds that Eden happened to find the command room of the ship even with the wrong map? Now that it’s updated and he has access to the ship’s command he’ll even have the heat monitor. With the heat monitor, he’ll be able to pinpoint exactly where his officers and crew members are because the body emits a heat temperature. He’ll be able to free them before there are casualties.
After freeing his officers and killing every crew member of the ship Eden pushed a button to stop the clock. The ship instantly disappeared and the room became white again. The soldiers left after Eden handed the key to one of them. He walked out of the room after waving at the command center and winking at Gege. Yanzhao looked at him leave speechless,
Since they were taking a break he decided to go tell the next soldier. He took a breath to calm down so Shangyu wouldn’t see how excited he is. Shangyu looked up when he entered and his heartbeat quickened.
"We’ll be taking a 15 minutes break before your turn."
"Yes, Colonel."
Yanzhao took a seat next to him and asked:
"Are you okay?"
He could tell that he was sad and it made him uneasy, he’d much rather see his beautiful smile.
Shangyu looked at him unsure if he should say something, he decided to when he thought that an Omega might be more helpful.
"You know that Eden and I are engaged right?"
Yanzhao nodded despite wanting to throw up.
"We’ve never had a close relationship because it was arranged by our parents until lately. We were getting to know each other better and now he makes my heart beat faster but he suddenly put an end to it."
Yanzhao asked:
"Do you know why?"
"I do he thinks that I don’t respect Omegas and look down on them."
When Yanzhao looked away uncomfortably he immediately asked:
"What?"
He could tell that Yanzhao was keeping something from him. Yanzhao sighed and said:
"I don’t want to hurt you but I think that you should know the truth."
Shangyu immediately tensed.
"What truth?"
"I don’t think it has anything to do with what Eden said, he’s just using that as an excuse."
Shangyu frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"He and Haoxuan like each other, he was even talking about how he invited him to the royal ball and he accepted. He wants Eden to meet his father."
Shangyu’s face fell, after a few seconds it became red in anger. He knew it! That son of a bitch Haoxuan is trying to steal his fiance. He should kill him! He just needs to prove to Eden that he doesn’t feel the same way as he did before then he’ll accept him, he is sure that he has feelings for him too. Haoxuan how dare he?
"That bastard!"
Hearing that Yanzhao was pleased, he hates how one day Shangyu started to care for Eden so he’s glad he finally sees him for who he is. He’s nothing more than a manipulating spoiled brat.
Yanzhao put a hand in his and proposed:
"How about you go to the ball with me as my plus one?"
Shangyu looked at Yanzhao’s hand and then at him. He could already tell that he liked him before but he never cared. He’s an Omega and even if he was Colonel he still wasn’t strong enough to stand at his sides. Now he finally found the Omega strong enough to stand by him and if he has to use someone weak like Yanzhao to get him he will without hesitation. He smiled.
"I’d love to go with you."
Yanzhao muffled a squeal to hide his excitement. After the ball, Shangyu will finally be his.
