Kian woke up in a foul mood. He only talked to Yuan for a few minutes yesterday and then told him to leave. What angers him the most, is how Shaotian manipulated him into forgiving him.
Since Kian thought it was Yuan, he believed him. Yuan and Shaotian are best friends. He just doesn’t comprehend why Shaotian didn’t come to him as himself. Why did he hide?
If he had apologized, he would’ve let it go. Actually, what angers him the most is that he is engaged. His Gege is supposed to marry Minglan.
Kian sighed and after washing and dressing, he took breakfast. He left the cave with only a blaster ready to put all his anger on aliens.
After a day of killing, Kian went back to his cave. He ate and swam when he had digested. As he was floating in the water, Kian smiled. This day allowed him to think about his and Shaotian’s situation.
Kian told himself that since in the previous universe, he didn’t explore more, he’ll do it this time. It would be a lie to say that having secret sex with Shoatian, wasn’t hot.
Since Shaotian played him, he’ll do the same. He will pretend not to know his identity at night while messing with Shaotian during the day. It should be fun, he’ll drive him insane and see how long he lasts before he is honest.
Kian will also make him jealous by using every opportunity he gets. But first, he’ll worry him for a few days.
Yuan walked to Shaotian’s office and entered. Shaotian looked at him coldly and asked:
"Don’t you knock?"
Yuan took a seat and simply answered:
"No."
He asked:
"What are you doing? I thought we could beam to a bar on the planet Yanis. A few people from the crew are keen to join too, since it’s not like any of the recruits are out there hunting."
Shaotian looked at his screen. Kian had his eyes closed with a smile on his face. He’s been floating in the water for more than twenty minutes. It seems like it relaxes him, Shaotian smiled.

Shaotian woke up and said:
"You go, I have work to finish."
Yuan sighed and left.
When he was gone, Shaotian stood up and locked his office. He put the cameras of the cave on a loop and pulled his beam pad, from under his couch.
After standing on it, Shaotian tapped on his tablet and waited. He frowned when ten seconds later he was still in place. After tapping again, he was still in his office. He frowned.
How come he can’t beam himself there? This afternoon, someone was beamed down, after a recruit called for help. He chose another place to see if he could beam there, and saw he could.
Shaotian looped the camera facing the cave, and beamed in front of it. When he arrived there, he frowned. Why can’t he beam in the cave now? He took a step to move the big rock blocking the entry, but he hit a field.
Shaotian put his hand on it, stunned. He could tell Kian was strong while watching him, but he is even more than he thought. Shaotian is the only one in the galaxy who could make that kind of protective shield, at least he was until now.
How is he supposed to enter now? Shaotian passed a hand through his hair, frustrated. After looking at the cave for a few more seconds, he beamed back to his office disappointed.
Does that mean he won’t be able to be with his Bunny anymore? The cave is his base, and during the day the entire galaxy looks at the recruit.
Shaotian sighed.
"In two days he’ll be done, it’s not that long."
Despite saying that, Shaotian tossed his tablet against the wall angrily.
Kian who was under his covers chuckled. If he is already this frustrated, he can’t imagine in two days. The idea of messing with Shaotian makes him so happy. Kian closed versem and fell asleep in a good mood.
As Kian and Xiaoshu had said, they met at 10 and caught up with each other. After the first half of the trial, Kian felt that time moved faster. A couple of hours before the end of the trial, he left the cave to hunt a few Neran-ne.
It was still dark out, and he wanted to break the record for the most point earned for the first trial. He was already sure to win since the end of the second day, but Kian loves killing aliens.
Kian walked to the meeting point, whistling. When he arrived, he saw that only half of the people who signed up were there. He walked to Xiaoshu and he hugged him.
Kian hugged him back and asked:
"How did the rest of the trial go?"
Xiaoshu said:
"It went well. I hope I’m in the top three."
Kian smiled.
"I’m sure you will be. Not many people hunted when it was dark."
Xiaoshu smiled.
When Tan recognized Kian’s voice, he walked to him. He smiled and asked:
"How are you, Kian?"
"I’m fine. You?"
Tan said:
"I’m okay, I just can’t wait to be done. I want to take a shower so badly."
Xiaoshu said to Kian:
"You were so lucky to have a pool in your cave."
"I told you to come to stay with me. Every day there was fresh water. It was perfect, it felt more like camping."
Xiaoshu smiled and said:
"It wouldn’t be fair, you found it."
"You’re my friend, it’s more important than the trial."
Xiaoshu felt touched to hear that. He likes Kian a lot, so he’s glad he feels the same way as he does. Tan felt like a third wheel. He looked at his state, then Kian’s. He didn’t look like he had been in the forest for days, killing aliens.
Honestly, if he hadn’t found out how rich he’s become, he would’ve wished for him to fail this trial. The fact that he is talking to him now lets him know he’s done pouting.
Tan was about to say something when he was beamed back to the ship. Everyone looked at Shaotian and Yuan.
Yuan smiled.
"Welcome back everyone. After the days you’ve had, I’m sure you’d like to wash, eat and sleep. We’ll meet to find out the ranking at 4. Meanwhile, you’re free to do what you wish."
Shaotian said:
"Congratulations on passing this trial."
Everyone clapped excitedly. It was hell, the fact that they are standing here is a miracle.
Shaotian said:
"You may leave."
Everyone left excited to shower and eat.
Shaotian looked at Kian but he was talking to Xiaoshu. He didn’t even look at him once. Why would he? He missed him in a way, he didn’t even believe was possible.
Shoatian tried everything to beam himself into his cave, but couldn’t. He hopes he isn’t angry at him after he said he would come back to see him.
Kian entered his quarters and directly jumped in the shower. When he was done, he and Xiaoshu went to the cafeteria to eat. Kian felt annoyed when he saw Minglan coming their way. She took a seat facing him and smiled.
Kian smiled. He can’t wait for all the cameras to be gone. The thought of being filmed on every trial annoys him. He felt nothing for Minglan until she got her sight on him.
If she tries anything with him, he’ll destroy her. It’s just with the cameras everywhere, he has to act nice. He doesn’t want the entire galaxy to hate him. Kian hopes over time, pretending will be easier.
Minglan said:
"I didn’t see you during the trial."
"My base was far from the place we were beamed. I didn’t see a lot of recruits."
At that moment, Fuheng approached and asked:
"Can we sit with you?"
Minglan was about to say no, when Kian smiled and answered:
"Of course."
Fuheng and the girl he was with in the forest took a seat.
Kian smiled at her and asked:
"What’s your name? I never got to ask."
"It’s Shancai."
Kian nodded.
"It’s nice to meet you, Shancai."
"You too, Kian."
Fuheng smiled and asked:
"Werent you too bored alone, especially at night?"
Kian said:
"I found a cave with a big pool, so most nights I would swim. It was fun."
Shancai pouted:
"You’re so lucky. Our cave was cold and dry."
Fuheng mused:
"You’re the one who found the place."
Kian’s eyes flashed in amusement.
"But you were closer to the action, while I had to walk for a long time. My base was far from any aliens."
Minglan asked:
"Why would you go so far?"
"I didn’t want to fall asleep with a blaster."
Minglan said:
"How much do you think you got?"
"I don’t know, I didn’t count."
"Do you think you’ll be in the top three?"
"I hope."
Minglan nodded. She felt like it would’ve been the same not to ask him the questions. No matter what happens, she has to take first place. If she doesn’t, whoever did will become his or her new target.
