Atlas walked to the empress dowager’s room and the twins felt their heartbeat quicken. The guards opened the doors and they entered.
They froze in shock, the empress dowager was sitting around the table about to drink tea. As soon as she saw her grandson she smiled brightly and put the cup down. Atlas shook the twins’ hands and they woke up.
They walked to her and she stood up to hug them. Ling Saifei hugged her grandsons tightly. She can’t believe that they are the only person left in her family. She always knew there was something dark about the Beis, and she was right.
She had a bad feeling about them, even if she had no reason to. They dared to wipe out almost all her family, if it hadn’t been for Atlas, she would have died and so would the twins, she’s sure of it.
Just before she woke up, she received visions of what had happened when she was asleep. She still can’t believe how powerful Atlas is. She’s glad that the twins had him at their side.
When Atlas turned around to leave, she pulled back and asked:
"Where are you going?"
The twins turned around and looked at Atlas. Atlas said:
"I was leaving so her highness could catch up with his majesties."
Even if he can speak the way he wishes in front of the twins he can’t do that in front of the empress dowager.
Ling Saifei walked to Atlas and the twins followed behind. She said:
"Thank you for saving my grandson’s life and mine."
Atlas smiled.
"Of course your highness."
Ling Saifei looked at the way the twins were looking at Atlas, and then at him again. She asked:
"Who knows that I’m awake beside the servant you sent?"
Atlas said:
"Just her no one else. I thought her highness would want to keep it a secret until tonight’s feast."
Ling Saifei smiled.
"I would."
"Is there anything else your highness?"
Yitian asked:
"Where are you going?"
"I just need to see my father."
Yujin asked:
"Is everything okay?"
"It is. I’ll see you at the feast directly."
The twins nodded. Atlas bowed then left. When he left Ling Saifei took a seat around the table and the twins in front of her. She was about to take a sip of tea, but she stopped before drinking.
She smelled it, and then looked at the door Atlas had just passed through. Yitian asked:
"Is everything alright grandmother?"
She took a sip and said:
"Atlas made the tea, I can recognize an ingredient because of its smell. He used part of a bashee’s egg."
Yujin and Yitian smiled, not only did Atlas cure their grandmother, but he made sure she wouldn’t be poisoned again. Yujin said:
"He did it to make sure no one will be able to poison you again, he gave us the same."
Ling Saifei looked down thinking about her eldest son. He loved Atlas, and he would often tell her how sweet and caring he was. Atlas sent him the vision of the conversation she had with the twins, so she knows that he couldn’t save him at the time.
She looked up and asked:
"Do you love him?"
The twins said at the same time:
"We do."
Ling Saifei nodded. Yitian said:
"We want to ask him to marry us tonight and we would like your blessing."
Ling Saifei looked at Yujin and he nodded. She could tell that they loved Atlas as soon as she saw the way they were looking at him.
"You have my blessing."
The twins grinned. Yujin said:
"Thank you."
Ling Saifei thought then said:
"I have the perfect wedding bands for you."
The twins smiled.
Atlas came down from the carriage and entered his house. He walked to the living room and saw his father and sister sitting around a table talking. Yuqi respectfully bowed to him and he smiled.
He asked:
"Did someone bring in robes earlier?"
"Yes, young master they are in your chambers."
Atlas nodded then entered. He took a seat and smiled at them. Zihang asked:
"How are you?"
"I’m okay, I’m done with the empress dowager."
Zihang asked a little stunned:
"She’s already up?"
"She is, she’ll be there at the feast."
Zihang smiled and Atlas smiled back. He knows how much the empress dowager means to his father.
He asked:
"Father, we have a plus one for the feast, is there someone you would like to invite?"
At that question, Zihang unconsciously looked toward the door where Yuqi was passing. Atlas and Yun’er smiled. Zihang turned around and said:
"You should choose."
Atlas sighed.
"Father just invite Yuqi."
Before Zihang could say something Atlas called on her, and she entered. Zihang felt slightly nervous and looked at Atlas shaking his head.
Yuqi said with a smile:
"What can I do for you young master?"
"My father would like to ask you something."
Yuqi looked at Zihang. Zihang looked at his children and they nodded at him. He looked at Yuqi again and asked:
"I have a plus one for the imperial feast, I was wondering if you would like to come with me?"
Yuqi looked at Zihang stunned. She has the biggest crush on him, but she never thought he would consider her seeing that she’s just a servant.
She bit her lip then murmured her cheeks flushed:
"I would love to but, I don’t have anything appropriate to wear for such an event. I’m sorry." frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
Atlas said:
"The robes that were delivered are for you." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
She looked at him wide-eyed.
"R-really?"
"Really, I called a few people to help Yun’er get dressed, they’ll help you too."
Yuqi’s eyes moistened and she felt unable to say anything. She can’t believe how nice he is being.
When tears ran down her face Zihang stood up and wiped her tears. Yuqi felt her heartbeat quicken. Zihang smiled at her flushed face.
"Will you be my date?"
She murmured:
"I will."
Atlas and Yun’er smiled.
Yan looked at himself in the bronze mirror. He smirked, he hasn’t told his father about his plan but he doesn’t care. He’ll show him that he can deal with everything coming his way.
Not only is he going to show the empire that without him they’ll be nothing, but he’ll be done with Atlas.
He’ll let Chuxiao kill him then he’ll kill him. He has already started to poison him so he’ll be able to kill him easily. He has Kian with him in case, then he’ll use him as a scapegoat. He already has someone ready to go plant evidence in his room at the inn.
That way they’ll see that he was able to stop Kian and Chuxiao from planning an attack on the imperial city. They’ll all see him as a hero. After he’s done dealing with the twins he’ll be named emperor, if they don’t he’ll enslave the entire empire. Yan smiled cruelly.
