Atlas got into the carriage and rode home. At that very moment, someone came out of a carriage and Atlas sneered when he saw Yan. He got out and walked in front of him ignoring him.
Yan held his wrist but Atlas pulled it away.
"Don’t touch me ever again do you understand?"
Yan nodded.
He felt that Atlas’ aura was scary like he had magic in him. Yan asked:
"Atlas can we please talk?"
Atlas tilted his head.
"What is there to talk about? You lied to everyone and told them that I wanted to go to beast valley and that you somehow did everything to protect me and even killed the ox humanoid."
Yan bit his lip and his eyes moistened.
"Atlas I’m so sorry. You have no idea how much I’ve been feeling guilty. I know that this is all my fault and I’ll never forgive myself for that Ox pushing you off that cliff after throwing his claw in your nucleus."
Atlas almost laughed. Yan only came here to make sure he truly doesn’t know that he is the one who did it and to persuade him not to tell anyone the truth about what happened that day.
Atlas crossed his arms and said:
"I’ll forgive you if you make it clear to everyone what happened that day during the next feast."
Yan felt like slapping him. As if he can ask anything out of him when he is nothing more than a magian while he is a mage.
Yan looked at him crying and said:
"If you want me to do it I will even if people won’t trust me to protect them anymore. I’ve been helping anyone who needs help to make it up to you Atlas."
Atlas always folds to him when he cries so he knows that he’ll tell him not to do it. Atlas said:
"Good, then I’ll see you at the feast."
Atlas turned around and went in. Yan looked at him walking leisurely stunned. How did Atlas not fall for his tears? That son of a bitch has become arrogant and he didn’t even have time to ask him where he was when he was away.
It’s fine he’ll keep spreading rumors about him and even if people find out the truth they’ll only focus on how shameless he is. He’ll even bring proof of his promiscuity.
No matter what he’s still their only hope if something bad happens while Atlas lost his powers so they’ll have no choice but to continue worshipping him.
He can’t wait to see Atlas’ face when he sees what he prepared for him. Yan smiled viciously and left.
Atlas entered his home and saw Yun and his father in the main hall. Yun ran and she hugged him. Atlas hugged her back with a smile. It’s super weird to have such a sweet and caring sister but he loves it.
Yun’er was like his twin, she was always there supporting him even if she is a magian. ZIhang looked at his children with a smile. He wished he had something to immortalize this moment.
He never thought the three of them would be back together. Yun pulled back and asked:
"Did everything go okay? We’re the twins mean to you?"
Atlas smiled and caressed her head.
"They weren’t, we only talked about curing the empress dowager."
Zihang asked:
"How long will it take?"
Atlas and Yun took a seat in front of their father and Atlas said:
"A couple of days. There’s a large amount of darkness in and I can’t take it out in one day or it might backfire."
Zihang nodded and said:
"But she’ll be okay?"
"She will. She’s strong that’s why she is still alive."
Zihang smiled. He knows full well how strong the empress dowager is. Ling saifei is not only strong but smart and incredibly wise. She seemed to have a gift to read people perfectly.
He and his son always asked her advice when they had a choice to make. After losing his best friend he lost her and it was hard. If it was hard for him he can’t even imagine how hard it was on the twins.
He can sense a little he’s seen how Yitian changed. Yun asked:
"What were your three wishes?"
"To be part of the ministry, to have father be a minister of officials forever then the last wish regards you."
Zihang said:
"Atlas you should’ve wished for what you wanted instead of me."
"I already have what I wished for, to be with you and sister again."
Zihang looked at his son emotionally and he smiled. Atlas smiled back. He didn’t need the wishes he just got them for his family. The only thing he desired was to see his family and the twins again despite being hurt.
Yun smiled and she asked:
"What was the last wish?"
Atlas looked at her and said:
"I told the emperor to propose you and Su Xin to marry."
Yun looked at Atlas wide-eyed and her eyes moistened.
"You must tell the emperor that you changed your mind. If Su Xin goes through with this he will lose his life."
Atlas said:
"He won’t. The Bei was the one who was threatening them. They were afraid that the family would become too powerful if you married into their family."
Yun and Zihang looked at Atlas stunned. After everything Atlas told him how did they not link the two? Yun’s eyes darkened. She’s been unable to sleep afraid that they might take the person she’s in love with when it was the Bei all along.
Atlas caressed her head.
"I told you now that I’m here I won’t let anyone hurt my family and since you love Su Xin he is family. You will marry him and anyone who gets in the way will die a terrible death."
Yun looked at Atlas crying and she hugged him tightly. Atlas hugged her back. He knows that she genuinely loves him, unlike the other girl who just wants to take his last name.
When Yun pulled back he wiped her tears.
"Brother, will you meet him? I promise he is the sweetest man in the empire."
Atlas smiled.
"You’ll introduce him to me during the feast."
Yun nodded multiple times excitedly, she looked like a chicken pecking corn.
Atlas and Zihang chuckled. Atlas looked at his father and said:
"I’ll be staying at the imperial palace until the empress dowager is safe in case something happens during the night." frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
Zihang was about to speak but he stopped and looked at the head maid who had just brought tea. After serving the tea the maid quickly glanced at Zihang with a blush then bowed and left.
Zihang looked at her leave. Atlas looked at the scene then at Yun and saw that she had the same smile. Seems like his sister has noticed that his father has a crush on Yuqi.
When she was out of sight Zihang looked at his children. When he saw their teasing smile he coughed uncomfortably and changed the subject.
"Are you sure the twins will be okay with you staying there?"
"They’re the ones who insisted on it."
Zihang nodded and asked:
"Did you settle your differences?"
"They apologized but I’m not ready to forgive them."
Yun and Zihang looked at Atlas stunned and she asked:
"The emperor and great general apologized to you?"
"They did and they insisted that I call them by their names like in the cave but I prefer to put distance between us."
Zihang looked at Atlas intently and then asked:
"Do you care for them?"
Atlas shook his head but ZIhang knew he was lying.
"If you didn’t care for them you wouldn’t be hurt that they judged you Atlas."
Atlas looked at his father and then down.
"I care for them but it only makes it that much more hurtful."
Yun asked:
"Do they care for you?"
Atlas nodded and she said:
"Then they must be just as hurt as you. I would be if I had hurt someone I care about. I know that what they did was wrong and they should’ve asked but they knew nothing about you not even your name. They just wanted you to come back to the imperial city with them and they wanted you to use your powers to save people the same way you saved them. You can take all your time to forgive them but don’t forget that."
Atlas caressed his sister’s head and asked:
"When did you grow up?"
Yun smiled and Atlas hugged her.
He knows that what Yun said makes sense but he still feels the same way he does. Like he said he just needs a little time then he’ll move on. No matter what they are his Er-Ge so it’s not like he’ll end things with them forever.
He needs them just like they need him. They’re soulmates no matter what they’ll always find their way to each other.
After his trunk was packed Atlas went to the imperial palace. Once all his belongings were dropped in his chambers he started the transfer.
