Atlas woke up and as usual, his Er-Ge was looking at him. He smiled and caressed his cheek.
When he saw his eyes turn two shades darker he sat up and asked:
"What’s wrong?"
He can read his Er-Ge by heart by now so of course, he can tell he is worried. Damian sat up and looked at Atlas. He asked:
"Do you see children in our future?"
Atlas frowned, he asked:
"Why are you asking that?"
Looking at Atlas’ face Damian felt like he already had his answer. He looked down disappointed. Even if the way his child came about was traumatizing he doesn’t regret having Jacob in his life.
If that’s the case then he can’t imagine how good it would feel if he had one with the only person he’s ever fallen in love with. Damian doesn’t want to put pressure on Atlas though.
He won’t put that responsibility on his shoulders when he knows that he doesn’t want children because of his nightmares from one of his previous life.
He concealed his feelings and said:
"I was wondering because of your dreams."
Atlas looked at Damian intently and said:
"I don’t want children."
Just the thought of it makes him fearful, if he were to be pregnant and lose the child again he knows that he would never get over it. It’s the uncertainty of not knowing if the pregnancy will go well that scares him.
Even with Versem, it isn’t foolproof since sometimes you just lose the baby without any specific reasons. When Atlas saw that Damian didn’t look disappointed he relaxed.
He was worried that’s what he wanted, every time he told his Er-Ge that he didn’t want a child he understood and this time again it’s the same.
Damian said:
"Sometimes when I see the affection you have for Jacob I feel like this is the kind a parent would have."
Atlas opened his mouth but nothing came out. He does feel like he’s grown up a lot since the previous world. Before he always saw himself as an adolescent. But having Tan and being like a parent to him altered him.
He never felt uncomfortable or over his head, he was happier than he had ever been until Tan had children and they called him grandpa. To him, they were his grandchildren and Tan his son.
The fact they weren’t related didn’t change anything. Even if he was happy he feels scared at the idea of carrying a child. He does feel the same for Jacob as he did for Tan and he feels older so he tends to act more like a parent.
But he can tell that Jacob isn’t bothered by it and he loves their relationship. He loves that the three of them are a family just like in the previous universe.
Atlas said:
"Even if we’re close in age I do feel a sense of maternal instinct for him."
Damian smiled. He asked:
"Then the reason you don’t want to have children is that you don’t want to spend 9 months carrying the baby?"
Atlas nodded with difficulty.
Damian pulled him in his arms and caressed his back. He feels disappointed but he won’t put Atlas through that when it scares him. He wants him to feel safe at his side.
Atlas held onto his Er-Ge and after a few seconds, he frowned. His heartbeat quickened as he tried to remember if he indeed deactivated his gland as soon as he entered the universe.
That’s always what he would do when he is in a universe where he can carry a child. He checked and saw that it was activated, he was about to deactivate it but stopped in fear.
What if he is already pregnant, he might kill the baby. He stood up hiding his fear and went to the bathroom. He had his body scanned and he opened his eyes wide in shock.
He started to hyperventilate wondering how he could’ve been so careless. He became pregnant the first night he entered this universe. It’s a good thing he’s not a drinker or smoker or he could’ve miscarried.
When he heard approaching footsteps he undressed quickly and got into the shower so Damian wouldn’t see the tears on his face. He took a deep breath and calmed down before he came in.
It’s gonna be okay it’s not like he is in the same situation he was before. He has Er-Ge and Jacob at his side and he is safe. Atlas said soothingly to himself:
"You’re safe, you’re safe, you’re safe."
He let out a breath when Damian entered and concealed his emotions. He’s not ready to tell Damian and he doesn’t even know how he’ll feel.
The first time he had a child was a nightmare for him and he doesn’t want him to feel like he has to raise it when that’s not what he wants.
He knows better than anyone what it’s like, to have parents who wished you were never born so he’ll never do that to his son. No matter how worried he is he’ll make sure he has the best life.
Atlas just needs a few days before he talks to Damian so he can prepare to leave in case he doesn’t want children. Atlas never thought he would carry a child again but now that it has happened he won’t get rid of it.
He closed his eyes when he felt Damian hug him from behind. Damian turned Atlas in his arms and asked:

Atlas leaned in and kissed him tenderly. He pulled back and looked into those lovely eyes he loves so much and smiled.
"I am."
Damian said:
"You don’t have to worry I know you don’t want children and I’m more than okay with that."
Atlas nodded and said:
"Can we not talk about this anymore please?"
Damian nodded.
Atlas kissed him again, he just need some time to digest all of this before he can talk to him. Atlas pulled back and said:
"I love you."
"I love you more baby."
Atlas smiled. After showering they dressed and left for the dining room. Atlas caressed Jacob’s head as he passed to take his seat.
Jacob smiled at Atlas but once he got a good look at him his smile vanished and he asked worriedly:
"Are you okay you look a little pale?"
Atlas smiled reassuringly.
"I’m okay."
Damian felt guilty seeing Atlas’ face. It’s all his fault he shouldn’t have brought up the subject. Atlas looked at Damian and could tell that he somehow believed it was his fault.
Atlas lifted his head and once he met his eyes he said:
"I’m fine I promise."
It’s just the shock of all of this. This is a lot and he needs to talk to someone or he’ll go insane. Atlas gave a peck to Damian and started to eat.
As he ate he asked Jacob:
"Did you show your father what we worked on?"
Damian smiled.
"He did he was vibrating so much I thought he had taken drugs."
Atlas and Jacob chuckled.
Damian chuckled and said:
"It looked amazing I can’t wait to see the finished product."
Jacob smiled brightly, he could tell his father was proud and it made him happy. Even when he showed yesterday he was nothing but complimentary. He never thought their relationship could ever become this good but it is.
Atlas stood up and said:
"I’ll be right back I have to call my lawyer."
Jacob and Damian nodded. When Atlas had walked up the stairs Jacob immediately asked his father:
"When are you going to propose to Atlas?"
Damian smiled and asked:
"Do you want me to?"
"I do I like Atlas and I want him to stay here forever."
Damian’s eyes softened and he caressed his son’s head. He said:
"I’ll propose to him at the launch party on Monday."
Now that Atlas is done with the Nye they can finally let everyone know about the headset. They already started production and have a large stock. The game’s production just started but by the time it’s released, they’ll be enough stock.
Atlas locked himself in the bathroom and called in his head:
*Eden?*
*Atlas are you okay?*
Atlas asked:
*Do you think you can astral project me where you are?*
*Hold on.*
Atlas waited and a few seconds later he was in a huge office. He looked around and saw a man sitting behind a desk with cold eyes. He was wearing red robes with a gold crown on his head.
He looked out the floor-to-ceiling window and saw that he was in a futuristic universe. He walked to the windows gazing at all the people coming and going with gold, green and blue robes.
Seems like there is a specific uniform based on your title. So this is what the famous Magellanic Cloud looks like. He turned around and looked at Eden. He was wearing beautifully intricate white robes.
Eden smiled and he smiled back. He walked to him and Eden asked:
"How are you?"
Atlas simply swallowed.
He smiled when Eden was about to reach out his hand but stopped when he realized he wouldn’t feel anything. He just thought it would be better to speak here and that no one would come in in the middle of their conversation.
He turned and looked at the man with red robes when Eden said:
"Atlas this is Cael, Cael this is Atlas."
Cael said his eyes still cold.
"Atlas."
Atlas tilted his head, he finds it funny that those two are together. Eden is open while Cael looks like a robot.
He felt like teasing him, he looked at Eden and asked:
"Mother, does that mean he is my new daddy?"
Eden’s eyes flashed with amusement and he looked at his Gege chuckling. He was looking at Atlas with narrowed eyes. Atlas smiled. Eden said:
"Give us a few minutes."
Cael stood up and walked to Eden. He asked with cold eyes:
"Isn’t it my office?"
Eden pouted and said:
"Gege I thought you wanted to share everything with me."
Cael smiled and his eyes softened. This person is too sweet. He held his chin and said:
"There isn’t a thing I wouldn’t share with you, my love."
Eden felt his heartbeat quicken and he smiled. He leaned in and kissed him tenderly. Cael pulled back and smiled at his baby. He then looked at Atlas. His eyes were cold like his tender attitude just before was a mirage.
He said:
"It was nice to meet you Atlas."
Atlas smiled.
"You too Cael."
Atlas looked at Cael leave. Turns out he only shows feelings for Eden. He looked down thinking about his Er-Ge. He put a hand on his stomach in worry. He can’t believe he is pregnant.
