Chapter 200: ABO / 5.11: Sabotage
Elwyn looked left and right to make sure no one could see him then entered production and closed the door behind him. He walked to the main computer and plugged in a USB key.
He opened the Extinct files and put the virus that was on the key in the file. As soon as it was in it disappeared like it was never there. Elwyn smiled and unplugged it.
He turned off the computer and left in a hurry before production are done eating lunch. He entered his office and closed the door behind it. He sat on his chair with a malicious smile.
Elwyn had to use a lot of money to get some geek to build this custom virus be he knows that it will be worth it. If the company has to lose a little money for his parents to see that Atlas isn’t the genius they think he is so be it.
Jacob will also stop being a fan. He’ll never stop until Atlas is out of the house. He’s glad he has already dealt with his two problems and he’s over the moon that the green emerald will be his.
Ever since he saw a picture of it he can’t stop thinking about it. He’s never seen such a beautiful ring before and it’s worth millions.
Jacob entered the new game facilities and looked at Atlas who was checking a character from his game. He stood behind him and looked at the screen.
"That’s my father."
Atlas turned around and smiled.
"It is, I created a main character with his likeness and yours."
Jacob looked at him stunned.
"You did?"
Atlas nodded.
He asked:
"Why?"
Atlas simply answered:
"Because I like you."
He has nothing against Jacob. It’s true that he cheated on him and threw his engagement in his face when he knew he liked him but he doesn’t care. He was blindly in love and let Elwyn manipulate him.
Deep down Jacob is just a kid who wants his father’s love. Even if he believes he hates him Atlas knows that he doesn’t. Jacob felt more guilty hearing that. He can feel that Atlas likes him as a friend but it only makes it worst somehow.
He asked:
"Don’t you hate me?"
"I don’t. I’m grateful things happened the way they did or I would’ve ended up in a loveless marriage. I would’ve never felt what it’s like to truly like someone for who they are instead of the person you made them out to be."
He loved Jacob when he knew nothing of him. Honestly, he was just in love with his face. They never talked so he created his personality and the type of person he was in his mind. It wasn’t real.
Jacob felt relieved, he likes Atlas too and he’d like to be friends with him especially since his father cares for him. Thinking about him he asked:
"Do you have feelings for my father?"
When Atlas nodded he frowned. He took a seat next to him.
"You’re the first person my father has connected with that wasn’t related to him. He had a great relationship with my grandparents and that’s it. I can tell that he likes you and I don’t want him to feel hurt if he were to find out that you like him as more than a friend. It’s hard for him to create connexion and I don’t want him to be crushed. He’s already been through a lot he shouldn’t have to keep suffering."
Even if he hates how much he cares for his father when he loathes him he can’t help but worry.
Atlas smiled gently. He promised:
"I would never do anything to jeopardize our relationship I swear."
Jacob looked into Atlas’ eyes and relaxed. He’s been feeling stressed about all of this but he can tell that Atlas is honest.
Atlas asked:
"Why do you act like you don’t care about him?"
"What?"
Atlas said:
"It’s very clear that you love your father but you always act cold around him, sometimes it’s like your relationship is only professional."
Jacob swallowed and looked down.
"He hates me for what my mother did to him. As soon as he came back home when he was twenty after graduating he kept his distance. I understand that he’s still affected by everything that happened but I had nothing to do with that."
Atlas pulled him in his arms and hugged him.
"He doesn’t hate you or he wouldn’t have worked as hard as he did so you can have a future."
Atlas pulled back and said:
"If he felt hatred do you think he would’ve made you the heir of Cian Cube when everyone knows how much you love video games?"
Jacob looked at Atlas. He indeed told his father early on he wanted to work at Cian Cube, not Cian hotels and he found him the best school to learn and he would have him work at the company during the weekend and his free time.
Jacob asked:
"How did you get close to him?"
Atlas said:
"I put down my wall and he did too it was that simple. Trust me if you try you won’t regret it."
Jacob nodded, he’ll try it’s not like he has anything to lose. If he tries and his father doesn’t respond then he’ll stop kidding himself.
He believes what Atlas said since he’s the only one who is close to his father so he’ll follow his advice.
"I’ll try it."
Atlas smiled.
"I’ll help you I’ll be staying at your house the next few days anyway."
Jacob felt relieved to know that Atlas would be there. He feels nervous around his father like he believes he shouldn’t exist. He asked:
"Did my father invite you?"
Atlas nodded. freewebnoveℓ.com
"Do you mind?"
Jacob shook his head.
"No, I’m glad."
Atlas smiled. Despite Er-Ge’s attitude, he knows that he loves Jacob he just doesn’t want to admit it to himself.
The only reason he wanted Atlas to marry Jacob is that he knew that he loves video games and that the two could build something amazing together. He’ll make sure the two have a close relationship as a father and son should.
