"Atlas what do you do?"
Atlas looked at Yixin and answered:
"Nothing for now I decided to take some time off since I came back but I’m the leader of the Yao clan and I’ll be starting tomorrow."
Yixin nodded.
Kuang and A-Xuan looked at each other confused. What is he talking about? Didn’t they agree that he would give up on the clan and marry? Atlas just hugged A-Xuan for agreeing to the double wedding. Kuang asked:
"Atlas didn’t you say you wanted to live a normal life and marry?"
Atlas looked at his father.
"I did but it’s not like I’m getting married tomorrow so in the meantime I’ll do my job as the clan leader."
A-Xuan said:
"I know you want to help but you don’t know what it’s like to run a clan or companies."
Atlas’ eyes darkened and he asked:
"What did you say?"
A-Xuan said in a trembling voice:
"Atlas don’t be upset I just meant that when you were on Olmides you would go out while grandfather worked."
Atlas felt like laughing, that’s what his brother does. He throws digs and insults but in such an innocent way that people feel bad for him when he gets yelled at. A-Xuan looked at Atlas teary-eyed and said:
"Please don’t be upset I’m sorry."
Atlas asked:
"For what?"
A-Xuan said:
"For angering you."
Atlas chuckled his head down. Everyone could feel that he had been triggered. The maid who had been comforted by A-Xuan before put a hand on his shoulder. His head down Atlas said:
"You know what angers me? You and father acting like you know anything about me when you don’t."
Kuang felt heartbroken seeing his darling son A-Xuan cry and said:
"Atlas enough! This isn’t time for one of your outbursts. How would we know what you do there when you never contacted us?"
Atlas tapped on his ring and a holographic display appeared.
As he scrolled through thousands of messages he said:
"The first year I was there I sent you and A-Xuan one message every day. Then the second year 6 and the third 5 until I was sixteen. I didn’t have time to write as often because grandpa was always sick and I had to run the companies on Olmides and make all the decisions he would make for the clan and companies on Nilian from afar. I had to be homeschooled and took care of everything."
Atlas continued:
"This is all the messages I sent you on grandfather conditions asking for your help because at first I was overwhelmed but as always you never answered or even opened the messages. This all the messages asking for more support on your side since even with grandpa on another planet he did more work than you father and A-Xuan and since grandfather was sick in bed I was the one doing it. You never responded to messages or calls so I quit school and worked full time. It was the only way I could do it."
Atlas looked at them with disdain and said:
"Even when I was away I did more for this clan than you ever did so don’t you speak about me like you know anything."
When his grandfather was sick he didn’t want anyone to know and Atlas respected his will so he quit school and found him the best help while he dealt with his work. His grandfather still made the big decisions on Nilian 72T even if Kuang was in charge.
Furthermore, Kuang would often send his grandfather messages to ask for help. The only way Kuang was able to infiltrate his companies is because at first Altas was overwhelmed by all the work but his father just thought that his grandfather was stupid. Now that he is here he’ll take everything back and destroy all the traitors. While his grandfather was sick they were living their best life doing as little as possible and taking credit for it. Atlas looked down, his hand was wrapped so tightly around his cellular that it turned red.
Yixin frowned, he reached out to put a hand on his but Atlas stood up and left. A-Xuan immediately turned and held his wrist. Atlas stood in place his back to him.
"Atlas please don’t be angry of course we know that you helped. Have dinner with us."
Atlas pulled his hand and left after saying:
"I just need to freshen up."
When he was gone A-Xuan cried and the maid hugged him.
Kuang said:
"Don’t be upset you know how sensitive Atlas is."
Between sobs A-Xuan said:
"I just thought he might want to rest, I know how hard it was for him to lose grandfather."
A-Xuan turned and held onto Yixin. Yixin who had been looking at the door Atlas had passed through patted his back.
Atlas took a seat on his bed and took a deep breath. He closed his eyes for a few seconds then called:
*Eden.*
As soon as he finished his thought he heard in his head:
*Atlas are you okay?*
Atlas felt stunned that he was there the second he needed him as he said. He isn’t used to people being there when he needs them to. He felt unable to say anything and stayed silent.

"What’s wrong?"
"I think Atlas is upset."
"Go it’s fine."
Eden gave him a peck and disappeared.
Eden appeared in front of Atlas. He was sitting on the bed and he seemed to be exhausted. Eden sat next to him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"What happened?"
Atlas said incredulously:
"You’re here."
Eden nodded with a gentle smile.
"Of course, I told you if you need me I’ll be there in a heartbeat."
Atlas swallowed and looked ahead. Eden asked:
"Do you mind if I look into your mind?"
He can tell that Atlas isn’t the type of person who’ll open up, he only called him because deep down he was sure he wouldn’t answer. Atlas shook his head and faced Eden. Eden put two fingers on each temple and closed his eyes. After a few seconds, he opened them again. He let go of him and said:
"That was the hardest part for me too. Knowing that all of those were my previous lives made it a thousand times worst. Having family members who hate you that much was soul-crushing."
Atlas looked at him and swallowed again, so it isn’t just him.
"It’s only when I realized that all those universes were created to make me suffer that I was able to take the good and let go of the bad."
Atlas asked confused:
"Take the good?"
Eden nodded.
"The reason you gain power when you change your fate is that nothing is set in stone. All the people around you won’t necessarily follow the same path they did in the OG timeline. Your relationship with the people around you and even some you didn’t originally meet varies depending on the circumstances and feelings."
Atlas thought a few seconds and nodded. He asked his head down:
"So two people who might’ve married and been happy my become stranger to each other?"
Eden said:
"They can. I can’t tell you how many times my partner married the person who made my life a living hell in the OG timeline but ended up with me."
His head still down Atlas asked:
"How did you deal with it?"
"I made sure he would only love me then punished him for not having my back in the OG timeline."
Atlas looked at Eden’s malicious smile and couldn’t stop himself from smiling too. Eden said:
"What you have to remember is that you’re not a prisoner anymore you have the power to do whatever you want. If you want something take it because no one is going to give it to you."
Atlas nodded and murmured:
"Thank you."
Eden smiled and hugged him. Atlas hugged him back a little uncomfortable.
Eden pulled back and his eyes flashed with amusement when he saw that his cheeks were slightly flushed.
"If you need me don’t forget to call okay?"
Atlas nodded and Eden disappeared.
Atlas looked ahead with a smile. Eden is right he should just do as he wishes it’s not like anyone can stop him anyway. His grandfather the only person he’s been around those past 12 years passed but now it’s time to get revenge not cry and be upset. Like Eden said he isn’t a prisoner anymore and he has the power.
He should see this as an opportunity to have fun and destroy lives. Before he was punished by Colton people always said that he was a shameless manipulator so he might as well go back to that person. He won’t cry about the past he’ll just ruin their future. Atlas smiled maliciously. They’re all going to pay dearly, especially A-Xuan. When he is done with him he’ll wish for death. But first, he’ll take what A-Xuan loves most in the universe, Yixin.
