Chapter 683: Chapter 238: One Room, Three People’s Joy (7000 words, asking for monthly pass)_2
"Ahem, Dazhi, you know, having multiple girlfriends can actually be quite enjoyable."
Li Yuan replied without batting an eye, then turned to Wang Shuai and gave him a push. "Wang Shuai, stop wasting time with us. Go for it. An opportunity like this won’t come again."
Encouraged by Li Yuan and Xu Zhi’s advice, Wang Shuai made up his mind. He was just about to ask Zhou Lei for her QQ number when he saw Bai Weixi gracefully walking over. She stared at Li Yuan, a hesitant look on her face.
Li Yuan smiled. "Bai, what’s wrong?"
Bai Weixi glanced at her two high school classmates, Wang Shuai and Xu Zhi, before speaking softly, "Brother, there’s something I want to talk to you about."
Wang Shuai and Xu Zhi chuckled knowingly. "We’ll leave you two to it." They caught on instantly and found an excuse to leave.
Once it was just the two of them, Li Yuan asked curiously, "Bai, what is it? You can say it now."
Bai Weixi bit her lip, her heart in her throat. She was incredibly anxious, afraid of making Li Yuan angry. Just as she was about to speak, she faltered again before finally managing to get the words out.
"Brother, I don’t know if I should say this... I’m afraid you’ll get angry."
A bemused Li Yuan gently stroked Bai Weixi’s head. "Come on, we’re close. Just say what’s on your mind. Besides, I don’t get angry that easily."
"Then I’ll say it?" Bai Weixi asked, looking at Li Yuan with flushed cheeks.
Li Yuan nodded. "Mm!"
Bai Weixi mustered her courage. "Brother, today is my birthday. Could you sing a song just for me?"
Li Yuan was taken aback. "That’s it?"
"Yeah!" Bai Weixi’s bright, sparkling eyes were fixed on him, filled with hope as she awaited his response.
Li Yuan chuckled in amusement. "Bai, you looked so serious, I thought it was something major. It’s just a song. That’s easy."
Bai Weixi explained with some embarrassment, "Ah, not just any song!"
"Not just any song?" Li Yuan was slightly perplexed. "Are you going to make a request?"
Bai Weixi rolled her eyes at him and let out a cute huff. "It’s not a request! I want you to write and sing a new song just for me!"
It finally dawned on Li Yuan. So that’s what she was getting at!
He did recall a few decent songs he’d come across, but he hadn’t practiced them privately. Singing them a cappella wouldn’t sound nearly as good.
"Ahem, Bai, I’ve been quite busy lately, and inspiration has been a bit scarce. I haven’t written any new songs..."
Hearing Li Yuan’s answer, Bai Weixi let out a soft, slightly disappointed "oh." She understood that creating a good song wasn’t so simple.
Her disappointment was fleeting. She quickly hugged Li Yuan’s arm and smiled sweetly.
"Hee hee, Brother, it’s okay. You can sing it for me whenever you feel inspired."
Li Yuan wrapped his arm around Bai Weixi’s waist. His senses were sharp, and he had noticed the flash of disappointment on her face. He could understand how she felt.
He had dedicated songs to Zhong Tingyue and Jiang Zhiyu at Jay Chou’s concert and the Ji University welcome party, respectively. But for her birthday, he hadn’t prepared a single one.
Li Yuan’s mind raced, memories of songs he had heard and sung in his past life flooding his thoughts. Soon, one song settled firmly in his mind.
Struck by a sudden idea, Li Yuan looked at Bai Weixi seriously. "Bai, do you really want to hear one?"
Seeing his serious expression, Bai Weixi’s heart began to pound. Her gaze darted away slightly, unsure what he meant by the question. After a moment of hesitation, she nodded firmly.
"Brother, I want to hear it!"
Li Yuan smiled. "If you want to hear it, fine, but you have to agree to one condition. Is that okay?"
"One condition?" Bai Weixi’s head felt a little fuzzy. Though she was confused, for the sake of hearing a song Li Yuan had written just for her, she nodded in agreement.
"Brother, I agree!"
Li Yuan grinned mischievously. "You’ll agree without even asking what the condition is?"
Bai Weixi replied shyly, "As long as you like it, I’m willing to do whatever you ask."
Seeing her agree, Li Yuan felt a wave of relief as the bold idea in his mind became clearer. With Bai Weixi on board, all that’s left is Zhong Tingyue.
Li Yuan smiled. "Alright, you all keep singing. I’m going to gather my thoughts for a bit."
"Okay, Brother!" Bai Weixi replied happily.
...
The bonfire party and outdoor bar were still going strong. The dozen or so freshmen, most attending a college classmate’s birthday party for the first time, were completely immersed in the jovial atmosphere. They reveled in the unique joy of this special occasion, each taking a turn showcasing their singing talents at the outdoor bar.
Time flew by in the cheerful atmosphere.
Li Yuan also let himself get swept up in the special vibe, constantly finding excuses to drink with Bai Weixi and Zhong Tingyue. Neither of the girls was a heavy drinker, and they were already tipsy after just a few glasses. The specially mixed drinks tasted great and weren’t particularly high in alcohol, but for girls unaccustomed to drinking, they still packed a delayed punch.
Zhong Tingyue sat beside Li Yuan, her cheeks flushed as red as ripe apples and the scent of alcohol on her breath.
"Hmph, Senior, if I drink any more, I’m going to pass out. Where’s the cake you prepared for Weixi? I’m still waiting to eat the birthday cake."
Beside him, Bai Weixi’s eyes were also glazed over as she gazed tenderly at Li Yuan, awaiting his reply.
A birthday party wouldn’t be complete without a birthday cake and longevity noodles.
Li Yuan looked at his two slightly intoxicated girlfriends, then glanced at his watch. It was just past 11:10 PM. It was about time.
