Chapter 677: Chapter 236 Li Scumbag: No, You’ve Come at Just the Right Time (Seeking Monthly Votes)_4
"What if I don’t agree?"
"Heh heh, if you don’t agree, I’ll make sure you can’t get out of bed tomorrow."
"You’re terrible, Senior! So bad. Fine, I agree, okay? Now spill. What twisted scheme are you plotting?"
"I’m not telling you yet. You’ll find out soon enough."
"Weixi’s here! Let me go, quick!"
Zhong Tingyue, nestled in his arms, began to struggle violently as she saw Bai Weixi approaching, trying to break free from Li Yuan’s embrace.
Li Yuan watched the gracefully approaching Bai Weixi and gave her a wave.
Bai Weixi had just ended a call with her parents when she saw Li Yuan holding Zhong Tingyue. Seeing him gesture for her to come over, she approached, a seed of anger sprouting in her heart.
Her tone was tinged with the sourness of jealousy. "Looks like I came at a bad time."
Li Yuan patted the rattan chair beside him, signaling for Bai Weixi to sit down. "No," he said with a smile. "You’ve arrived at just the right time."
Hearing this, Zhong Tingyue chuckled and gave Li Yuan an odd look. She felt as though she had heard that phrase somewhere before, and it seemed a little risqué.
"Hmph," Bai Weixi huffed petulantly before hesitantly sitting down. She and Zhong Tingyue now flanked him, each leaning against one of his sides.
With Bai Weixi’s arrival, what was a moment for two had become a gathering of three, and the atmosphere instantly grew silent as both girls stopped talking.
Seeing this, Li Yuan felt utterly helpless. He had been dreaming of having a beauty on each arm and enjoying that rare bliss, but now it seemed that was simply impossible, at least for the time being. He would consider it a win if they could just coexist without attacking each other.
I need to find a way to get them to stop being at daggers drawn whenever they’re together. It would be perfect if they could become as close as sisters, just like in some of those news stories I’ve read.
To achieve this, he needed an opening. Li Yuan took the initiative to break the awkward silence.
"Bai, are your parents doing well back home?"
Bai Weixi nodded. "Yes, they’re fine. They just miss me a bit. This is the first time since I was little that I haven’t been with them for my birthday."
As she spoke, shimmering tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over. Clearly, the nearly half-hour call with her parents had made her homesick.
Li Yuan gently wiped her eyes and chuckled. "Heh heh. Bai, did your parents mention me?"
Bai Weixi shot Li Yuan a shy glare and nodded.
What she didn’t say was that for more than half of her thirty-minute call, her parents had been asking about him. Perhaps, in her parents’ eyes, the scariest part of their precious daughter being in a relationship was the fear of her getting her heart broken. And that was without them even knowing Li Yuan had multiple girlfriends. If they knew the truth, Bai Weixi couldn’t even begin to imagine the scene...
Li Yuan smiled faintly. "Please give them my regards."
With that, he raised his wine glass and looked at the two stunning beauties flanking him. "Bai, Little Moon, let’s have a drink together. The fact that we can all sit here like this is its own kind of fate."
Bai Weixi and Zhong Tingyue exchanged a glance before both raising their glasses and taking a sip of the fine wine.
Zhong Tingyue asked curiously, "Weixi, has Li Yuan already met your parents?"
"Yes, he has. They came to Modu to see me during the National Day holiday," Bai Weixi replied, exhaling a breath tinged with alcohol. Her beautiful eyes were fixed on Zhong Tingyue’s face. This was the first time she had looked so seriously at her beautiful roommate since finding out Li Yuan was juggling multiple girlfriends.
Bai Weixi then asked, "What about you?"
"Me?" Zhong Tingyue smiled sweetly and nodded as well. "He’s met my mom."
Hearing that Li Yuan had also met Zhong Tingyue’s mother, Bai Weixi felt a sour knot in her stomach. She glared at Li Yuan and snorted.
"Oh. So, you’ve already met *both* of our parents..."
She left the sentence unfinished, but the implication sent a shiver down Li Yuan’s spine.
"Haha, the moon is lovely tonight!" he exclaimed, quickly trying to change the subject. "Come on, my darlings, let’s have a drink!"
Zhong Tingyue gave Li Yuan a suspicious look and huffed, "Senior, why are you pushing us to drink so much tonight? You’re not planning something bad, are you?"
