Chapter 79: Chapter 79

Kieran’s POV

Ronan snarled viciously in my mind as I slammed my fists on the steering wheel after the warriors I stationed inside the airport reported to me. They were all looking down—submissive wolves avoiding their Alpha’s wrath. They knew I didn’t like their report, and I was so close to ripping out their throats in fury.

"Pathetic excuses for warriors," Ronan growled. "They couldn’t track down one pregnant she-wolf?"

"Sir..." Another group of warriors rushed over. "A pregnant woman collapsed inside. She was brought to the clinic."

My wolf surged forward with hope. I immediately jumped out of the car and stalked toward the terminal. I went straight to the clinic and gritted my teeth after seeing the pregnant woman they were talking about. Not Kyra. Just some human.

"Come here," I commanded, my Alpha tone making the air thick with dominance as I told the one who reported to me.

I punched him in the face as soon as he stood in front of me. His nose crunched under my fist.

"USELESS!" I shouted, letting my wolf’s fury bleed into my voice.

"Sir, you can’t cause a scene here," the human nurse said, her scent spiking with fear.

I glared at her, letting my eyes flash gold. She immediately stepped back. I left the clinic while my incompetent pack members followed me. I went back to the car and balled my fists again.

Kyra... I didn’t know why you couldn’t accept me again. This happened to me because of that old man’s selfishness. I wasn’t to blame for ending up like this. Why did you have to leave me because of that?

"She’s our mate," Ronan reminded me. "She’ll come back."

"Sir, the head maid of the mansion called. There’s a problem."

My forehead creased. "Did Amanda do something stupid again?"

"N-Not that, Alpha Kieran. It’s...Alpha Darian."

He handed me his phone and I gripped it tight as my lips parted in shock at the article spreading online.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?" I roared, my Alpha voice making nearby werewolves flinch, and threw the phone. It immediately broke, and silence filled the car.

"S-Sir..."

I raked my hands through my hair and yanked it. Goddamn it! Why did you have to ruin my plans, you old wolf? How can I convince Kyra to come back to me?

Damn! She would think I killed her father. Oh fuck! This can’t be! No! No! She’ll hate me more. She can’t think I did this. She won’t come back to me.

"FUCK!" I shouted and punched the car window. I didn’t care if people outside were looking. I only cared about Kyra, and I was completely losing her.

"Find her," Ronan demanded. "Claim what’s ours."

"You," I pointed at one of my warriors, "go back to the house and check what happened. The rest of you follow me."

I got out of the car and stalked toward the airport terminal again. If Kyra had seen the article online, I was sure she wouldn’t leave this country. She would come for me, furious, and I would meet her halfway—to explain and clear my name. freewebnovel.cσ๓

"Sir, I’m sorry. You cannot enter."

My forehead creased as I studied the female human guard. "I need to find someone."

"I’m really sorry, sir. You can only enter if you’re a passenger."

I laughed sarcastically. "My wife is inside. I need to talk to her or she’ll leave me for good."

"I’m really sorry, sir."

I moved my face closer to her, my expression growing darker. I immediately saw fear in her eyes even before I spoke. "I am Kieran Carver, woman. The name probably rings a bell?"

Emily’s father was a notorious businessman in this region, operating in both legal and underground circles. Our marriage news had gone viral across human media.

Her scent spiked with fear as her eyes widened and she moved back. I knew allying with Emily’s pack would make me stronger and more powerful. The merger had already proved effective.

Ronan growled in approval as I went straight to the waiting area. I clenched my jaw, letting my Alpha senses scan the area. After making sure that Kyra wasn’t in the waiting area, I decided to check the plane.

"You can’t outrun an Alpha, little wolf," I whispered after spotting a woman with familiar golden hair—the same shade as Kyra’s.

I smirked and sat beside her, my wolf stirring at the proximity. I felt her looking at me.

"Kyra—" My smile faded when her scent registered—all wrong, not my mate’s. "Who are you?"

She looked shocked and scared. "I-I’m sorry?"

"Where’s the she-wolf who was supposed to be in this seat?" I demanded, letting my Alpha power ripple through my words.

"T-This is my seat, sir."

Ronan snarled in frustration as I stood up abruptly. What the fuck? Where was Kyra? Her scent trail should have led me right to her.

My balled fists trembled with barely restrained wolf rage as I left the plane. Kyra... Why were you doing this to me, mate? Where were you hiding?

"Track her," Ronan urged. "She can’t have gone far."

I didn’t give up, using every enhanced sense my wolf blood granted me as I searched the terminal until sundown.

A terrible thought struck me—what if she never boarded the plane at all?

I immediately mind-linked my Beta, Felix. "Check every possible exit route beyond the airport—high-speed rail, shipping lanes, trains, everything."

I didn’t want to get angry but she was pushing me to hate the fact that I let her escape. Kyra was my treasure. She was mine, so I would do everything to find her and bring her back here, with me, where she belonged.

When I returned to the house, I immediately searched for Amanda. She was sitting on the couch with a scared face. I was so ready to kill her when she knelt in front of me.

"No, Kieran! I swear by the Moon Goddess I didn’t do anything! I wasn’t home when he jumped out the window. The maid just told me when I came back."

I grabbed my gun and pointed it at her. "You better not be lying to me, bitch."

"I swear it’s the truth!"

I laughed darkly. "That’s impossible, Amanda. As his official mate, you stood to inherit everything."

She sobbed, "I-I will help you bring Kyra back. I swear, Kieran. I didn’t touch that old wolf again."

"Are you bargaining with your Alpha?" I growled.

She gasped. "I-I know she’ll return. She’ll come for vengeance and try to take everything that originally belonged to her. She will."

"I don’t want you breathing when that happens, Amanda."

"KIERAN, PLEASE!" she screamed, her wolf whimpering in terror.

I was about to end her miserable life when my Beta interrupted. "Alpha Kieran, Alpha Liam demands your presence at his territory."

Emily’s father—that pompous old wolf—really thought I’d become his slave? Just wait. I’d play his game... until it was time to take his rogue faction for myself.
