Chapter 58: Chapter 58
Kyra’s POV
I woke up nestled against Kieran’s bare chest, his Alpha scent of cedar and musk wrapping around me like a possessive embrace.
"Our mate holds us close," Sylvia, my wolf, purred contentedly in my mind. His arm rested heavily on my waist, his palm pressed against my belly beneath the thin fabric of his shirt that I wore.
My cheeks burned as last night’s memories flooded back—the way his hands grazed my skin, the growls vibrating against my body when he claimed me, the way my wolf had howled in pleasure when he finally took me as his mate. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"He marked us in every way but one," Sylvia murmured, her voice thick with longing. The claiming bite—the final seal of a werewolf bond—still lingered between us, unfulfilled.
"Morning, little wolf." Kieran’s sleep-rough voice sent shivers down my spine. His teeth scraped the sensitive skin there—not enough to break it, but enough to make my wolf whimper. I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed because I was the one who initiated sex last night. I flirted with him, and he gave me what I wanted.
I flinched, and he chuckled.
"What’s my mate thinking so early?" His hand slid lower, fingers splaying across my hip in that dominant Alpha way that made my breath catch. "Still feeling last night?"
"Morning," I whispered, my voice embarrassingly breathless.
Kieran nipped my earlobe. "How did your Alpha perform? Did I satisfy my mate?"
Heat exploded across my cheeks as I pinched his arm. "Kieran!"
"Call me ’mate’," he rumbled, his voice dropping to that deep, possessive tone that made my toes curl. "I want to hear those sweet lips say it."
I scrambled from the bed, his rich laughter following me as I fled to the bathroom. The mirror reflected a thoroughly claimed she-wolf—flushed skin, love bites along my collarbone, and the faint red marks where his teeth had grazed my neck.
He had owned me here last night. He tasted every inch of my body. He had pleasured me to the point that I almost passed out. He claimed me like there was no tomorrow. He possessed every part of me, even my soul, and he’s slowly stealing my heart too.
I caressed my neck where he left a kiss mark. We had been so wild last night after our first round. He had been insatiable, but I liked it very much. We did it in so many positions, and I couldn’t help but feel hot again.
I didn’t know I could be that insatiable. I didn’t know I could be that wild. I showed him every ounce of desire inside me. I let go of my lustful feelings, and he didn’t judge me. Instead, he liked it. freewebnσvel.cѳm
"He marks us even without the bite," Sylvia preened. "The whole pack will smell his scent on us now."
Last night had been... steamy. With Kieran, I hadn’t needed to suppress my wolf’s wildness. Where Nathan had made me feel like a fragile she-wolf to be protected, Kieran had encouraged my claws to emerge and my fangs to bare as we tangled in the sheets.
"A true mate doesn’t cage our nature—he unleashes it," Sylvia murmured as I stepped under the shower.
The scent of coffee drew me to the kitchen. A smile crept on my lips as I watched him. Kieran stood shirtless at the stove, half naked under the apron he wore, his pack tattoos rippling across his back as he moved. His hair was tied in a top knot—I hadn’t thought I’d see him like this. The domesticity of the scene struck me—the feared Rogue King cooking breakfast for his mate.
Who would’ve thought I would end up with him? I was so taken with a man who had expressive brown eyes that I failed to see the allure of the black orbs that Kieran owned.
"Hungry?" he asked without turning, his Alpha senses tracking my every movement.
I hesitated before wrapping my arms around his waist, pressing my cheek between his shoulder blades. His answering growl vibrated through me.
"Don’t fall too hard, little wolf," Kieran murmured, though his blue eyes burned with possession when he turned. "I want to be the one drowning in my love for you."
At the counter, his phone rang. He answered with one hand while feeding me a bite of sausage with the other—a ridiculously domestic gesture from such a lethal Alpha. After hanging up, he poured me milk.
"Today is the weekend. What plans do you have?" he asked, leaning against the counter.
"Maternity checkup at the pack clinic," I admitted.
Guilt immediately crossed his eyes. "I’m sorry. I want to go with you, but I have a territory meeting—"
"It’s okay," I interrupted, though Sylvia whined softly at the thought of facing the physicians alone.
Kieran captured my hand, kissing my palm. "I’ll come for you after."
The unspoken question hung between us. "Kieran... are you really okay with this?" I gestured to my stomach. "Raising another Alpha’s pup?"
His grip tightened, eyes flashing wolf-gold. "That pup is mine," he growled. "By pack law and by choice. It will know no father but me. Besides, it was my fault for not taking action when you blindly married Nathan. I was a fool."
Kieran’s words somehow calmed me, though I was still nervous about what the consequences would be. I accepted him into my life even when I’m still not fully over Nathan. However, I intended to stand by my decision to give myself a chance. I just hoped this was the chance that I had wanted for so long.
At the clinic, the elderly she-wolf physician chuckled when I shyly asked about last night’s activities. "Moon’s grace, child," she said, claws tapping the exam table. "You don’t have to worry about that, Miss Kyra. It’s normal for pregnant women to have heightened desire. It’s part of pregnancy. And your mate’s instincts will protect the pup. The bond strengthens it."
I chewed my bottom lip and nodded. "You mean our... wild nights won’t affect the pup?"
"Of course not. You don’t have to be so stressed about it. Besides, from what you’ve said, I think your mate knows what to do. He was careful, and I bet he researched all this even before you realized it."
Her words echoed as I left. Kieran had been wild yet careful—dominant but attuned to my limits. He researched this, I realized with a start. He had prepared to care for both of us.
Warmth spread through my chest. I was happy as I walked out of the hospital. I couldn’t help but feel excited to see Kieran again, and my feelings for him had obviously intensified because of what he showed me and what I realized.
Maybe, this time, the Moon Goddess had sent me a mate who would stay.
