Chapter 38: Chapter 38
Kyra’s POV
Nathan picked up my pregnancy report, and it sent me into a panic. That piece of paper could reveal everything—how long I had been carrying his pup.
Afraid he would discover the truth, I snatched the paper from him.
Pain flickered in his eyes, but he quickly hid it behind a mask of coldness. He clenched his jaw and glanced at my stomach before looking into my eyes again.
His eyes were still beautiful, still piercing through my soul. My heart still beat so fast whenever I saw him. However, reality was right in front of me.
"Kyra! Fancy seeing you here," Sophia smirked as she held onto Nathan’s arm.
Nathan was about to leave, but she stopped him. I pressed my lips together and slid the pregnancy report into my bag.
Sophia glanced behind me, her smirk widening. "Oh! You’re alone? Where is the pup’s father?"
I gritted my teeth. He’s right beside you, bitch! I wanted to slap her face until she bled to death. She had stolen my mate and the father of my pup.
Sylvia snarled in my mind. "Tell Nathan the truth! Now!"
No. I forced my wolf down. Now wasn’t the time.
Sophia raised an eyebrow as she examined me from head to toe. She was obviously mocking me for being alone as I came for a checkup.
I smirked at her. "Well, the father’s been busy working for our pup’s future. How about you? You two seem to be expecting a pup soon."
Sophia’s face immediately changed. When I looked at Nathan, his eyes were gloomy. He was looking at my face as if he missed me and seeing me now pained him.

I straightened my expression and looked at them coldly. "If you’ll excuse me. My pup’s father is waiting for me."
I walked past them with a blank face. Lies! My pup’s father was right in front of me, looking at me sadly.
Nathan’s expression bothered me. He seemed very hurt while looking at me, but I couldn’t just expect that he had feelings for me—that was just too absurd to think about.
I’m sorry, pup...
I caressed my tummy before slipping into the car. I closed my eyes tightly and bit my bottom lip.
"Let’s go home," I said to my bodyguard without opening my eyes.
The car started moving. I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself. My heart was still racing just because of that simple encounter with Nathan. It still hurt, even though I had already carved it into my mind that we were over.
Seeing Sophia and Nathan together left me exhausted, so I decided to take a nap on the way.
When I woke up, I was shocked to realize that the bodyguard was still driving and the surroundings were no longer familiar.
"Where are we going?" I asked the bodyguard, but he didn’t bother answering.
"I’m talking to you! Where are you taking me?"
I gasped when I saw his face in the rearview mirror. He wasn’t my bodyguard!
I clenched my jaw, even though my heart was already racing in fear.
"Who are you?" My voice stayed steady, but Sylvia bristled. Danger. Fight or flight.
He glanced at me through the rearview mirror. The evilness in his eyes terrified me. He seemed like someone who didn’t fear anything—especially death.
I gripped the handle of the car door and started screaming, "HELP! HELP ME!" freēwēbnovel.com
The door was locked, and I couldn’t find anyone nearby who could help. He kept driving, and all I could see now were trees.
Oh my God!
"HELP ME!"
"If I were you, I’d shut up and save your energy for later."
"No! You shut up, asshole!" I growled at him. "HELP ME!"
"Do you want to die, huh?" The seriousness in his voice scared me even more. I swallowed hard and kept a straight face, even though I was scared as hell.
I glanced at my bag. I could get my phone secretly and call Kieran. I needed him now. Damn it!
I gritted my teeth and looked at him again. "What do you want?"
He smirked devilishly and goosebumps rose on my skin from fear.
"My Alpha wants something, not me. But... if you insist, I’d like something."
My clenched fists trembled as I tried to calm myself down. I needed to think. I couldn’t make a reckless move; it might hurt my pup.
"What does your Alpha want with me? Why is he doing this?"
He laughed sarcastically. "You think you can lure me? You’ll know what he wants once you meet him."
I pressed my lips together and looked outside the window. I waited for him to get distracted so I could secretly grab my phone and call Kieran. However, he seemed to notice my plan. He grabbed my bag. "Try it," he warned, "and I’ll break your fingers."
I lost hope, especially when the car stopped and he dragged me inside an abandoned building.
The scent of damp wood and blood hit me as he shoved me to the ground and tied my wrists and feet.
Tears collected in the corners of my eyes as I remembered the horrible experience I’d had in the past. I had been kidnapped before, and this reminded me of that terrible night.
My tears rolled down my cheeks, and my lips started trembling in fear as, one by one, a group of Rogues in black suits appeared in front of me. They were staring at me like I was their prey, and their cruel expressions terrified me.
"W-Who are you?"
They started laughing evilly, and I could only cry on the floor while silently calling for help.
Kieran... help me...
