Chapter 202: Chapter 202
Kyra’s POV
Kieran arrived at Emily’s apartment right on time. When I saw him, my emotions got all mixed up.
He came with two men, wearing a perfectly fitted black suit that looked professional. This was totally different from the broken, empty-eyed Kieran I’d seen before my wedding. He had changed back into his old self. A powerful, confident Alpha who people respected.
He sat across from us while Nathan stayed beside me, holding my hand protectively. The tension in the room was thick.
Talking on the phone and meeting face to face were completely different things. Even though we’d agreed to keep our distance, seeing him brought back a bunch of memories I’d tried to forget.
An awkward silence filled the room. My mind was racing with too many thoughts. In the past, every time I saw Kieran, I ended up yelling at him. But now, after everything we’d been through, the awkwardness was almost too much to handle.
Nathan cleared his throat. "We need your help."
This was one of the things I loved about Nathan. Even though he had pride, he knew when to put it aside. He always knew what to say and do at the right time.
Kieran looked at me for several seconds before turning to Nathan. "I’m willing to do anything," he said.
"Connor Foster," Nathan sighed, leaning forward a little. "After everything that’s happened, I know he’ll find ways to come after Kyra."
Kieran’s expression got dark right away. "It seems you really don’t know who you’re dealing with. I only recently finished investigating him."
Nathan frowned. "Emily thought he might be one of the Alpha leaders among the rogues."
"Not exactly," Kieran shook his head, his jaw getting tight. "He’s protected by the biggest northern territory Rogue Faction called Dark Crown. He’s probably one of their higher ups. Dark Crown has a lot of power in the northern territories. They have many loyal rogues willing to die for them. Connor keeps a low profile in the organization. That’s why I’ve only been able to find out who he is but not get evidence of his crimes." freewebnøvel.com
I gasped and turned to look at Nathan. So staying quiet had been smart for us until now. I’d been digging for the truth without knowing this important piece. Maybe Luke had found this connection, and that’s why he was killed.
I swallowed hard. "What does this mean for us?"
"It means he has powerful backing," Kieran explained, his fingers drumming on the armrest.
Nathan leaned forward. "Emily said when she went to rescue Matt, Matt found out about evidence that his father killed Kyra’s mother. And he also knew about Connor’s private office. Not his public one, but a secret location."
Kieran’s eyes sharpened. "Did Emily investigate this clearly?"
I shook my head sadly. "Emily lost her memory. We might have to ask Matt to follow up on this lead."
Kieran nodded thoughtfully. "If you can find out more details, I can send my people to follow up. Maybe if we find this place, all of Connor’s conspiracies will be useless."
Nathan considered this. "That could be a backup plan. Are there any other methods?"
"Actually, yes," Kieran said, leaning back in his chair. "Connor’s current situation means he’s vulnerable right now."
"How?" Nathan asked.
"His sons are turning against him. His family is falling apart. Dark Crown doesn’t like too much attention. If Connor exposes the organization through family drama, they might dump him."
I nodded slowly. "He’s right. Connor is angry, which makes him dangerous. He’ll probably try to frame me for something."
Kieran looked between us. "Let him frame you. We’ll make it look like he succeeded. When he thinks he’s won, we’ll hit him with the killing blow."
"Isn’t that too dangerous for Kyra?" Nathan’s voice got tight as his grip on my hand got stronger. "She’s pregnant."
Kieran’s eyes snapped to mine. His lips parted slightly as he swallowed hard. He cleared his throat, sighed, and nodded slowly. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"Then we must protect her and the baby at all costs," he said, his voice shaking a little.
Nathan looked at me, his eyes full of worry. I nodded to reassure him. I trusted him completely to keep me safe.
After our short meeting with Kieran, he left quickly. Part of me wanted to ask him to stay. Maybe for the sake of our past connection. He had looked after me when I was young. He had saved my life and cared for me in ways no one else had. I still treasured those beautiful memories between us, but I knew they couldn’t erase the terrible things he’d done.
Watching him walk away, my heart was full of mixed emotions. Our relationship could never go back to what it once was, but at least now we could work together toward the same goal.
