Chapter 177: Chapter 177
Emily’s POV
Matt’s lips trailed down my neck, his breath hot against my skin as I lay back on my bed. His fingers found my clit, circling it with gentle pressure that made me arch against him.
"You’re so beautiful," he whispered, his eyes dark with desire as he watched me squirm beneath him.
I grabbed his hair, pulling him closer. "Less talking, more action."
He chuckled. His mouth moved lower, leaving a trail of kisses across my collarbone, between my breasts, down my stomach. When he reached between my legs, I couldn’t help the moan that escaped me.
"Matt..." I gasped as his tongue found my most sensitive spot.
"Let me hear you," Matt demanded, his fingers joining his tongue.
I gripped the sheets, my hips moving of their own accord as pleasure built inside me. Matt knew exactly what he was doing, bringing me to the edge before backing off, teasing me mercilessly.
"Stop playing around," I growled, frustrated.
He grinned up at me wickedly. "Patience."
When I was nearly begging, he finally slid up my body, positioning himself between my thighs. I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling him closer.
"Protection?" I managed to ask. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
He nodded, reaching for the nightstand. After quickly rolling on a condom, he returned to me, his eyes locked with mine as he pushed inside slowly.
The fullness made me gasp. He started moving, setting a rhythm that had me clinging to his shoulders. His muscles flexed under my fingers as he drove into me harder.
"Faster," I commanded, and he obeyed.
The room filled with our mingled breaths and the sound of skin against skin. I felt myself approaching the edge again, this time with no chance of turning back. Matt’s movements became more urgent, his breathing ragged against my ear.
"Emily," he groaned, his voice strained.
The tension inside me snapped suddenly, waves of pleasure washing over me as I cried out. Matt followed moments later, his body tensing above mine before collapsing beside me on the bed.
We lay there catching our breath, my body still tingling from the aftershocks. Matt pulled me against his chest, his heartbeat gradually slowing beneath my cheek. The satisfaction was undeniable, but the emotional complications were already creeping in.
After cleaning up, Matt returned to bed and started playing with my hair as I lay under the sheets. His touch was gentle, almost reverent, and that scared me more than anything else.
"So you’re investigating your own family?" I asked, pretending I didn’t already know.
"Yes," he breathed out. "I had no choice. You said I should investigate to prove Kyra wrong, but I’m proving myself wrong, Em. My father was involved in her mom’s death. I’m sure of that."
I raised an eyebrow. "You don’t even have proof."
"No concrete evidence, but I heard him twice talking to someone about certain documents that could be used against him."
"So you believe your father, a perfect man in your eyes, was a murderer?"
"I don’t know."
I could see the pain in his eyes. He was struggling to accept what happened. It reminded me of my own heartbreak when I discovered my father’s involvement with criminal enterprises. I couldn’t accept that the money he used to raise and educate me came from illegal activities.
"What are you planning? You’ll report him?" I asked.
"I have to, Emily. That’s the right thing to do."
"What about your twin? Will he do the same?"
"He’ll do the opposite. He believed in our father too much."
Matt had been insistent on having a relationship with me, but I wasn’t sure about my feelings. Yes, he satisfied me in bed. I liked his kisses, his touch, how he excited me whenever we got physical. But was that enough to enter into a relationship? I was afraid to trust again after what happened in my past.
When his hand caressed my bare shoulder, I suddenly felt uncomfortable. I got out of bed, completely naked, and put on my robe. I grabbed a cigarette and lit it.
"Do you smoke all the time?" he asked. freewebnσvel.cѳm
I turned to face him with a smirk. "Why? You don’t like women who smoke? It’s okay. Let’s break up."
His eyebrow shot up. "You think I’ll let you go because of that stupid reason?"
I scoffed. "Why do you even want me as your girlfriend?"
"I already answered that, Emily. I told you I like you."
"That’s not enough."
"It’s enough because I know it will grow more."
"What?"
He got out of bed and walked around naked. My gaze landed on his backside and my eyebrow raised appreciatively.
"If you don’t want to believe me, that’s alright," he said. "I just want you to stay with me and try this relationship. You’re bored anyway. So if you want to ease your boredom, just call me."
I chuckled. "The last martyr was killed a long time ago, Matt. I don’t think you’ll settle for that."
He stopped at the bathroom door and looked back at me with a smirk. "Try me. I’m telling you this feeling is eternal."
I was left dumbfounded by what he said. I stared at the closed bathroom door and swallowed hard. He was serious. I didn’t know what to do. I’d never been involved with a man like him before. He was full of surprises. Initially, I thought he was just another man, but I was wrong. He was different. Really different.
I went out of the bedroom and dialed Kyra’s number, biting my fingernail while waiting for her to answer. She was probably still asleep.
"Hello—"
"Kyra!" I interrupted.
I heard noises from the other end. "Are you okay? Did something happen?"
I bit my bottom lip and took a deep breath. "I just have a question."
After a long pause, I finally asked, "I think I’m developing feelings for your cousin."
"Matt?"
"Yes..."
"He’s not evil, Emily. I think you can trust him."
"But I’m afraid of trying again."
"Emily, if you already have feelings for him, you can’t run away from it."
"So you suggest we make this work?"
"You really are together?"
I sighed and played with the carpet using my slippers. "Yes. He’s just so persistent. He kept chasing me. Can you believe he made a scene in a bar just because I was avoiding him?"
She chuckled. "I guess this is your great chance in love, Emily. Why don’t you try? Just like how I grabbed the chance to be happy with Nathan again."
"You think he won’t hurt me?" I asked.
"I can’t answer that. But if your heart wants it, go for it. Don’t restrain your feelings, Emily. It will only make you feel burdened."
I nodded slowly, considering her words. She was right. There was no harm in trying. Happiness always comes with risks and sacrifices. I should give this a chance and see if it works. If not, I’d immediately cut ties with him. But if it did work... I wouldn’t let him go either.
