Chapter 1514: Chapter 1510: The Unown Sealed in the Depths
Twenty days passed in the blink of an eye.
Cain had not expected that after completely exhausting their energy, the Unown would take no less than twenty days to regain consciousness.
And even after so many days, even with the help of the system, Cain had not managed to fully unravel the secrets of Giratina’s reverse scale.
Beyond what it contained within, even the patterns on its surface possessed an extraordinary uniqueness.
During that time, Cain had spent his days training alongside his Pokémon or researching the scale. He had never felt his life so peaceful.
But that day broke his routine.
The Unown, who had slept for so long, finally awakened.
That explosion that shattered the barrier... who knew how much effort it had cost them.
Ever since Cain arrived on the Space-Time Continent, the Unown had hinted that he should investigate the peak of the continent’s central mountain, but at the time he had not paid much attention, and moreover the sense of urgency had not been very strong.
It was not until the Sacred Church appeared that Cain clearly felt the Unown’s anxiety.
However, by then, the summit was already occupied by the Sacred Church, and with the strength Cain had at that moment, he could not even get close.
Thus, the Unown’s urgent need was once again suppressed.
Later, when Cain cooperated with Marcus to try to break the barrier, the arrival of Dialga and Palkia put him in an extremely awkward situation. Fortunately, the Unown gave him new guidance.
What exactly was it that made the Unown on his wrist long for that place so much?
Cain had pondered that question for weeks.
Now, at last, he was going to get the answer.
Before Cain could ask them, the newly awakened Unown took the initiative to communicate with him.
As he analyzed the special characters that emerged in his mind, Cain’s brow first furrowed, then an expression of surprise appeared, and finally one of absolute astonishment.
"Slowking! Gardevoir!" After obtaining the answer he was looking for, Cain immediately called out to the two of them.
Two Psychic-type Pokémon, combined with his own abilities, should be enough to accomplish what the Unown described.
With a flash, Slowking and Gardevoir appeared beside Cain using the move Teleport.
Looking at the small lake in front of them, Cain murmured, "After searching for so long without results... I never imagined it would be right in front of me."
That’s right. The object the Unown spoke of was in that lake.
Accompanied by both Pokémon, Cain wrapped their bodies in psychic power and dove straight into the water.
Without raising the slightest splash, they disappeared beneath the surface.
Cain was no stranger to the underwater world; he had entered the water many times before alongside his Pokémon.
Following the Unown’s instructions, they descended to the deepest point of the lake.
In a secluded corner, they discovered an obvious anomaly.
"It must be here..." Cain thought as he cleared away the obstacles. Before them appeared a dark cave at the bottom of the lake.
The entrance was covered by a special psychic membrane, preventing the water from flooding the interior.
With the help of Slowking and Gardevoir, and without damaging the membrane, the three of them entered.
Inside, the environment was completely different from what one would expect. It was not a damp and chaotic cave, but a dry, orderly space covered in dust, evoking the feeling of ancient ruins.
The moment Cain entered, the Unown on his wrist began to glow, and the farther he advanced, the greater the heat emitted by their symbols.
Cain could clearly feel their excitement.
After passing through a long corridor, a space resembling a great hall opened up before him.
The walls and floor were formed from enormous stone blocks, similar to those of the pyramids Cain remembered.
This had been built by intelligent hands!
Approaching the walls, Cain discovered that they were covered in murals. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
And those murals felt familiar to him: they were very similar to the ones he had seen in the temple of Cynthia’s family, in Sinnoh.
After observing them briefly, driven by the urgency of the Unown, Cain moved toward the center of the hall, where a platform made of a single stone block stood.
On top of that platform, he sensed a familiar presence.
"Is this...?"
On the surface was a peculiar symbol. Looking at it closely, Cain recognized it immediately: it was a thick and distinctive question mark, the symbol of the Unown "?".
Although it was half-sealed, there was no doubt: it was one of the most special Unown.
"So... all of this was for him?" Cain murmured, understanding why the Unown had so desperately wanted to reach this place: one of their companions was trapped here.
As far as Cain knew, the Unown represented the twenty-six letters, but two of them were special: the exclamation mark and the question mark, recognizable by their half-open eyes.
Although surprised, Cain also felt a slight disappointment. frёewebnoѵēl.com
Was this long-awaited thing really just an Unown?
However, he did not feel too frustrated. After all, the gains he had already obtained were enormous.
Besides, before entering the lake, the Unown had already explained that they wished to rescue a companion; he simply had not expected it to be the question mark one.
Following their instructions, Cain extended his hand, coated in intense psychic power. Under his command, Slowking and Gardevoir channeled their energy into his arm.
"With this, it should be enough..." he murmured, grabbing the block bearing the Unown "?" symbol.
Sssss!
A crackling sound rose as the psychic power began to dissipate rapidly.
Cain immediately increased the energy, not daring to hesitate. At this rate, he knew he wouldn’t be able to hold out for long.
Clockwise rotation!
Crack, crack, crack!
The sound of stones grinding against each other and ancient mechanisms echoed through the hall.
