Chapter 99: Chapter 99

Chapter 99

Inside Shakky’s Rip-off Bar on Island 13.

"The kid you’ve been waiting for has already landed on the island. I heard he’s currently on Island 24. Aren’t you going to go check on him?"

Shakky asked casually while holding a cigarette in her mouth.

In her hand, she was dragging a tall, burly pirate who was already beaten black and blue with his eyes rolled back — clearly unconscious. A group of other pirates lay scattered and groaning on the floor around her.

"Well, there are quite a few people on the island targeting him right now — pirates, human traffickers, bounty hunters, and even the Marines are watching him. There’s no rush," Rayleigh replied calmly as he swirled the wine in his glass.

Although he was already seventy years old with wrinkles covering his face, his refined and elegant demeanor made him look like a charming old gentleman.

"What are you going to do about Hatchan? After all, we’re not exactly in the right here... Tsk, these guys are really poor."

Shakky skillfully searched the pirates for money, then calmly bundled them all up and threw them out of the bar.

"Since they chose to become pirates, they should have been prepared to die. Hatchan and the others ran wild in the East Blue for so long — it’s only natural they’d get retaliated against. But since Hatchan did save my life, I still have to go see him at least once."

Rayleigh finished the wine in his glass in one gulp and stood up.

"Well, don’t go too far. After all, he’s that old man Shiki’s successor. Be careful he doesn’t crawl out of his grave and drag you down with him."

Shakky blew out a smoke ring and spoke with one eye open, sounding annoyed.

"Hahaha, worried about your old flame’s successor? If that guy Shiki dares to come out, I’ll just stuff him back into his grave. Don’t worry."

Rayleigh teased her playfully before heading toward the door.

"Next time you come back, you’re sleeping on the floor."

However, Rayleigh’s teasing clearly angered her. She immediately replied in a cold tone.

Rayleigh suddenly stumbled, but his superb skill allowed him to regain his balance. He helplessly scratched the back of his head and walked out of the bar, closing the door behind him.

Looks like I need to fix my bad habit of running my mouth. Otherwise, I really won’t be allowed in bed anymore, Rayleigh thought to himself.

Shakky, the former captain of the previous generation of the Kuja Pirates, possessed immense strength and had once joined the then-dominant Rocks Pirates.

The young Shakky had been exceptionally beautiful, which attracted the admiration of Golden Lion Shiki, another member of the Rocks Pirates.

Strong and beautiful — wasn’t that exactly the ideal woman Shiki dreamed of? He immediately began pursuing her, but was continuously rejected and strung along. After the Rocks Pirates’ defeat and disbandment, Shakky left as well.

Later, after Roger’s crew completed their voyage around the world, was declared the Pirate King, and disbanded, Rayleigh came to Sabaody Archipelago, met Shakky, and fell in love.

However, Rayleigh knew about Shakky being pursued by Shiki in the past, so he would occasionally tease her about it — though it always ended with him being kicked out to sleep on the floor.

Shiki’s unrequited love ended with his imprisonment. After breaking out, he focused solely on his ambitions and never left any descendants. In the end, after a certain incident, he drifted to an island in the East Blue and chose Rorschach as his successor.

...

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In a remote corner of Island 27, an empty area, the sounds of punches and kicks rang out continuously. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Just moments ago, after enjoying Sabaody’s specialty cuisine, they had been heading toward Area 30. When they reached the edge connecting the islands, countless pirates and human traffickers suddenly poured out and surrounded Rorschach’s group.

The pirates laughed wickedly. A few of them charged forward bare-handed, trying to grab Nami and the other girls, only to be instantly knocked down.

"Hee hee hee, you’ve got some skill. But I suggest you stop resisting, or you’ll only suffer. If you get hurt, I won’t be able to sell you for a good price."

The man who appeared to be the leader of one of the groups laughed sinisterly.

Rorschach’s group had naturally noticed these hidden pirates long ago. However, being followed by these annoying tails was getting tiresome, so they deliberately let them gather together to deal with them all at once.

"Nami, take care of them all. Leave no survivors," Rorschach said calmly. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"Understood." Nami nodded. Violent lightning surged from her hands and quickly formed a thunder dragon.

"T-This is a Logia fruit ability! Run! It’s a big shot!"

The pirate leader who had just been arrogantly telling them not to resist now widened his eyes in disbelief and screamed. He turned and ran without hesitation.

What kind of joke was this? Such catastrophic power was coming from a little girl, and he had actually tried to target them.

A dark cloud of dread fell over the pirates and traffickers. They sensed this would be the biggest trouble they had ever encountered.

Nami had no intention of giving these despicable pirates a chance to escape. The thunder dragon swept through them at extreme speed. Anyone touched by the lightning was instantly turned into charred corpses and collapsed.

In moments, every single pirate present was electrocuted to death. No one could escape Nami’s large-scale brainwave perception from her Observation Haki.

Nami waved her hand to disperse the lightning, then proudly walked over to Rorschach with a satisfied look.

Although Nami didn’t say anything, Rorschach knew exactly what she wanted. He hugged her and gently stroked her hair as a reward.

While his Conqueror’s Haki could have handled them easily, it would have caused more commotion. Using Nami’s lightning was far more efficient and convenient for mass elimination.

Suddenly, both Nami and Rorschach sensed something. Nami instantly turned into lightning and left Rorschach’s embrace.

A sharp sword came flying straight toward Rorschach.

Whoosh— Clang!

The sword, producing a piercing sound as it cut through the air, slammed directly into Rorschach’s body. Only after the blade itself shattered did the momentum stop.

Looking at the broken sword on the ground, the corners of Rorschach’s mouth curled up slightly as hot blood surged in his veins.

A master swordsman of this level on Sabaody Archipelago — there was only one person it could be. He had already recognized his identity.

Meanwhile, Rayleigh, who was hiding in the shadows, stared at Rorschach in complete shock.

He hadn’t coated that strike with Armament Haki — it was merely a test. As for Nami in Rorschach’s arms, with her passive elementalization, he didn’t think a strike without Haki could hurt her.

He had imagined Rorschach using swordsmanship, physical techniques, or his Devil Fruit to block the flying sword, but he never expected Rorschach to block it with his bare body.

The only people in this sea who could block his attack with pure physical strength were that old woman Charlotte Linlin and that brat Kaido.

In Rorschach, he saw shadows of those two monsters.

Another monster with a special physique? And with that golden hair...

A strange thought suddenly surfaced in Rayleigh’s mind.

This kid... he couldn’t possibly be the child of Golden Lion Shiki and Charlotte Linlin, could he? That monstrous physique, the golden hair, and his love for women...

It really did look like a perfect combination of Golden Lion and Big Mom.

After all, Linlin also loved chasing men, so the idea wasn’t entirely unreasonable.
