Chapter 36: Chapter 36
Chapter 36
After leaving Twin Cape, the sky quickly darkened.
"What’s going on? Why did a storm suddenly hit?" Nami shouted in surprise. She knew the Grand Line’s weather was unpredictable, but she hadn’t expected it to turn this bad before they even reached the first island.
"Hahaha, this is just the appetizer. Consider it a welcoming ceremony," Rorschach said with a wide grin. Looking at the dark, stormy clouds, he felt a surge of excitement.
From the novels he read in his previous life, people often did crazy, unexpected things. He really wanted to try it himself.
Rorschach walked straight to the bow and drew his twin blades.
"Hey, Rorschach! What are you doing? This isn’t the time for that—get over here and help!" Nami yelled.
"Hahaha, don’t panic, Nami. Leave this to me," Rorschach laughed, trying to calm her.
He showed no fear in the face of nature’s fury.
A powerful aura surged from his body as Armament Haki fully covered Karamatsu and Sakura Ju. Black-blue energy and lightning crackled around him.
"Shhh... haaa."
He exhaled slowly. The twin blades charged with power as the surrounding aura and lightning fused into the swords. The air itself seemed to twist.
"Hahahahaha! Let’s see whether this natural disaster is unbeatable... or if my power is stronger!" Rorschach laughed wildly, his eyes shining with pure madness.
If Rorschach had checked his status panel right then, he would have been shocked to see his Conqueror’s Haki jump from C to B- in one go — two full ranks.
By choosing to face the disaster head-on, the long-accumulated spirit within him had grown, finally showing its true strength.
"Mighty Kingdom!"
He swung both swords, sending a massive wave of energy straight into the storm clouds that looked like a natural disaster.
The energy wave merged into the black clouds. Rorschach sheathed his blades and breathed heavily — that attack had used up a lot of his stamina.
BOOM!
The thunderous black clouds suddenly scattered like frightened ants. The powerful shockwave from the energy blast instantly blew away the storm in front of them.
A violent gust swept across the sea.
Splash— Splash—
Waves slammed against the ship.
"Uwaaaaaah! You idiot, Rorschach! What the hell are you doing?!" Nami screamed, terrified. She dropped into a defensive crouch, still cursing him nonstop.
"What terrifying power... Was that Mighty Kingdom?" Reiju muttered in disbelief from the deck.
The hurricane gradually died down, and the sea returned to calm.
"Hahahahaha! Problem solved, no matter what."
"Full speed ahead! Onward to the Grand Line!" Rorschach shouted, raising his arm.
...
They reached the target island by nightfall.
Before they even got close, loud, enthusiastic cheers rang out from the shore.
This familiar scene, combined with the cactus-shaped town, was unmistakably Whiskey Peak — the same island Luffy visited.
What a coincidence that this Log Pose pointed straight here.
"Welcome! Welcome!"
"Welcome to Whiskey Peak!"
"That’s weird. Why are the people here so excited to see a ship arrive?" Nami asked, staring at the oddly enthusiastic townsfolk.
"This island is called Whiskey Peak. It’s one of Baroque Works’ bases — basically a bounty hunter nest. Tons of bounty hunters hang out here," Rorschach explained.
"They often welcome inexperienced young pirates, throw them a party, then kill them in their sleep, collect the bounties, and steal everything on their ship."
"But our flag doesn’t have a pirate symbol. Why are they welcoming us too?" Nami asked.
"Heh heh. This is the Grand Line. You can’t judge people here with normal logic. I bet they’re planning to rob us anyway. Whether you’re a pirate or not, coming to this island rarely ends well," Rorschach said.
"So... are we still going ashore?"
"Doesn’t matter. The bounty hunters here are all weak. They can’t hurt us," Rorschach shrugged with a smile. He didn’t take these hunters seriously at all.
These guys were only good for catching small-time pirates in the Four Seas. Without Baroque Works backing them, they were nothing. They could only trick inexperienced rookies. Even rookie Luffy had the strength to slaughter this entire town.
"Let’s go ashore and see what tricks they’ve got," Rorschach said.
With his explanation, Nami flashed a mischievous grin.
Since they wanted to rob us, why can’t we rob them right back?
"Welcome, welcome! Are you new pirates who just entered the Grand Line?" A well-dressed, muscular man with curly egg-shaped hair greeted them with a big smile.
"No, we’re just passing bounty hunters," Nami replied with a matching smile. Both sides were clearly scheming while pretending to be friendly.
"Bounty hunters, huh? They must have some bounties from catching pirates. Hehe," one disguised bounty hunter muttered to himself. He didn’t know every word was heard by Rorschach.
"This is the town known as ’Whiskey Peak.’ I’m the mayor, Igaram. We’ve already prepared a banquet for you bounty hunters. Please, follow me," Igaram said with a kind smile.
The townsfolk (who were actually bounty hunters in disguise) welcomed them enthusiastically.
"Let’s go. Free food is free food," Rorschach said. Nami was snickering behind him.
"They actually dared to invite Rorschach to eat. These guys have no idea how much he eats. I hope they don’t regret it later," Karina said with a wicked grin, though she hid it well and replaced it with a gentle smile when she turned around.
Inside the tavern that night.
The bounty hunters stared with their mouths wide open, shocked at the mountain of empty plates stacked several layers high beside Rorschach.
Looking at Rorschach, who still looked like he could eat more, their mouths twitched uncontrollably.
Igaram’s expression turned ugly. He gave a subtle signal to the blue-haired girl beside him.
She immediately understood, picked up a large mug of beer, and approached Rorschach with an enthusiastic smile.
"Dear bounty hunter, don’t just eat. Have a drink too," the girl said seductively, leaning close to him. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Rorschach looked at the blue-haired girl and smirked. He never turned down someone who threw themselves at him.
He took the beer, pulled the girl into his arms, and looked at her with deep, passionate eyes.
"Beautiful miss, what’s your name? Let’s have a drink together."
Vivi’s eyes flashed with panic. She forced a smile and said awkwardly,
"U-um, sir, I’m the mayor’s daughter, Vivi. I’m not good with alcohol, so I’ll have to pass..."
Vivi tried to break free from Rorschach’s hold, but his grip was too strong. She could only look helplessly at Igaram.
"Since Miss Vivi brought the beer, how can you not drink with me? If you’re not good with alcohol, just take one sip," Rorschach said with a grin, as if thinking of something fun.
He took a sip from the mug, then leaned down.
"Mmmph!"
Vivi’s eyes widened in shock, looking like she was about to cry.
It’s over... I’ve only been undercover here for a short time, and I just lost my first kiss like this.
"Captain Rorschach really does love beautiful women," Reiju said, looking at the sweet-faced Vivi with her slim figure, then glancing at her own body and nodding.
"Mmm~ Yes, she’s definitely Captain Rorschach’s type."
Not far away, Igaram’s face turned pale. He almost accidentally blurted out "Princess Vivi."
"Um, sir, my daughter isn’t good with alcohol. If you want someone to drink with, I’ll drink with you instead," Igaram said hurriedly as he stepped forward, sweating profusely. It was obvious how nervous he was.
"No need to rush. Let me collect some interest first. You put something in the food, didn’t you? It really ruins the taste," Rorschach said, lifting his head. He even smacked his lips. "Princess-flavored beer tastes pretty good."
"W-what?! Sir, you must be joking. How could we have drugged the food?" Igaram forced a smile, still trying to cover it up.
"I’m not some rookie pirate. You can’t fool me," Rorschach said with a smile, directly exposing their scheme.
The food was mostly eaten anyway, and he had already collected his "interest." There was no point in pretending anymore.
The tavern fell silent. The bounty hunters all revealed vicious looks.
Igaram’s attitude changed completely. He showed a ferocious grin and spoke coldly.
"Since you’ve already figured it out, there’s no other choice. We were planning to kill you in your sleep."
"Everyone, attack! Restrain his crew first and capture them all!"
At Igaram’s command, the bounty hunters moved.
Nami and the others didn’t care at all. They watched the hunters like they were clowns.
BOOM!
A vast, overwhelming aura mixed with malicious intent erupted from Rorschach’s body.
The bounty hunters froze mid-action. Their eyes rolled back, foam bubbled from their mouths, and they all collapsed.
"W-what’s happening?!" Igaram and Vivi looked on in terror, not understanding how this young man had knocked everyone out in an instant.
Rorschach’s Conqueror’s Haki had bypassed them, so they only felt his terrifying presence without being directly hit by it.
"You’re from the Alabasta royal family, right? You’re Princess Vivi?" Rorschach asked, looking down at Vivi, who was still too shocked to pull away from his arms.
"How do you know our identities?" Vivi’s face turned ugly. Rorschach’s words made it clear he already knew everything about them.
Meanwhile, she didn’t even know who he was. freeweɓnovel.cøm
"You don’t need to worry about how I know. But I also know what information you’re looking for."
"Including who the boss of Baroque Works is and what their goal is."
