Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Chapter 3
"Ha ha ha ha ha!"
Sparrow let out a wild, slightly unhinged laugh. Everyone present felt a chill run down their spines.
Even his own pirates swallowed nervously. Their captain was known for his volatile temper — anyone who offended him, whether enemy or crewmate, would be brutally killed without mercy. That fear was exactly why none of his men ever dared to betray him.
Suddenly, while still laughing, Sparrow drew the pistol at his waist and fired at Charlie’s knee.
BANG!
"Ahhhhhhh...!"
Charlie collapsed to the deck, clutching his wounded knee and screaming in agony.
"President!"
The sailors cried out and immediately surrounded him.
Sparrow finally stopped laughing. His voice turned ice-cold.
"If I kill all of you, won’t everything on this ship belong to me?"
"I don’t want you running off to call the Navy. That would be such a pain."
He drew the rapier at his waist and pointed it at the sailors. freёwebnovel.com
"Boys, kill every last person on this ship, then sail it away."
The pirates grinned with cruel excitement. The sailors gripped their weapons tightly, faces tense and serious.
Just as the situation was about to explode, a casual voice suddenly cut through the air.
"Um... does anyone know which direction Syrup Village is?"
"If you can give me a ride there, that’d be great."
The unexpected words shattered the deadly tension. Everyone turned toward the voice.
At some point, a tall blond young man with crimson eyes had appeared, casually sitting on the ship’s mast.
Seeing everyone staring at him, Rorschach scratched the back of his head.
Anyone with half a brain could tell this was a pirate raid on a merchant ship. He spoke up on purpose to stop the slaughter. He would rather ask the sailors for directions than deal with the pirates. No way was he letting these thugs kill his potential guides.
One of the younger sailors raised his hand and answered, "We’re a merchant ship headed for Syrup Village!"
Rorschach’s face lit up with joy. "Awesome! Can you guys give me a lift?"
The young sailor looked extremely awkward. Dude, read the room! We’re surrounded by pirates right now...
Rorschach didn’t get a reply. Instead, he got a bullet.
Sparrow’s face darkened as he raised his left hand and fired without hesitation.
BANG!
Rorschach tilted his head slightly. The bullet flew past harmlessly.
He was already using Observation Haki. From the moment Sparrow raised his arm, every movement had been clear in Rorschach’s senses.
Rorschach frowned. This guy is really something else.
Most people in this world loved to trash-talk before a fight, but this pirate gave off a cold, venomous feeling.
Reality really is different from the anime. There aren’t that many honorable adventurers here.
Rorschach didn’t particularly hate pirates, but anyone who stood against him had to die.
He shook his head and released his Conqueror’s Haki toward the pirates below.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
In an instant, every single pirate lackey collapsed with white eyes, completely knocked out.
The sailors’ eyes nearly popped out of their heads. They stared in total shock at the pile of unconscious pirates.
This was beyond their understanding.
"Oh? You didn’t fall. Not bad at all," Rorschach said, genuinely surprised as he looked at Sparrow, who was still barely standing.
He hadn’t expected a random small-time pirate captain to resist his Haki. Looked like his Conqueror’s Haki was still too weak at D-rank.
Sparrow’s mind was already falling apart. His perfect plan had been ruined by this sudden intruder.
Struggling, he looked up and asked, "Who... who the hell are you? A bounty hunter?"
Rorschach jumped down and walked toward him casually.
"Hmm... Nope. You can just think of me as a passing Kamen Rider."
"Kamen... Rider?" Sparrow looked completely confused. freewebnøvel.com
He knew what a knight was, but what the hell was a "Kamen Rider"? And this guy wasn’t even wearing a mask.
Rorschach didn’t bother explaining. It was an inside joke only he would understand in this world.
He walked right up to Sparrow, raised his sword, and prepared to strike.
Suddenly, Sparrow dropped his arrogant act and panicked. He fell to his knees and begged desperately.
"My lord! I’ll trade a secret for my life!"
"Hm?"
Rorschach looked at him with interest.
Sparrow was still kneeling and bowing low, so Rorschach couldn’t see his face clearly and had no idea what trick he was planning.
Still, the guy was doomed to die anyway. Might as well hear what he had to say.
"Wait!"
At that moment, Charlie stood up with the help of his sailors and spoke with difficulty.
"My lord, please don’t believe him! Sparrow is a notorious liar. They call him the ’Deceiver.’ He’s a pirate with a 13 million berry bounty!"
"Oh? So this guy is actually worth over ten million?" Rorschach said, slightly surprised as he looked at the kneeling pirate.
"No, my lord! I’m being completely sincere. I would never deceive you," Sparrow said, still keeping his head down.
Rorschach’s lips curved into a slight smile. He sheathed his sword and stood in front of Sparrow.
"My lord!" the sailors behind him cried out in alarm.
Sparrow’s face, pressed against the deck, twitched with hidden excitement. His mouth slowly curled upward when he heard the sword being sheathed.
"Speak," Rorschach said casually.
"Alright. The secret is..."
Sparrow suddenly stopped mid-sentence. He snatched up the rapier that had fallen earlier and stabbed viciously toward Rorschach’s stomach.
He thought Rorschach had let his guard down, but reality was cruel.
Clang!
The sound of metal striking metal rang out.
Sparrow’s pupils shrank in shock, as if he had seen something impossible.
The tip of the rapier had hit Rorschach’s abdominal muscles... which had turned pitch black.
Armament Haki.
The rapier couldn’t pierce through at all.
"M... Monster..." Sparrow stammered, his voice trembling as he held the sword.
"Is that your final line?" Rorschach asked calmly. "I thought you’d have some better trick. That’s all you’ve got?"
"Let me teach you something. Out here on these seas, only strength is supreme. Any scheme or conspiracy is meaningless in front of absolute power."
The moment Rorschach finished speaking, he was already behind Sparrow. His sword slid smoothly back into its sheath.
In Sparrow’s terrified eyes, the rapier snapped in two.
A thin red line appeared diagonally across his body.
In a spray of blood, Sparrow collapsed lifelessly onto the deck.
