Chapter 19: Chapter 19
Chapter 19
"When I was little, the Arlong Pirates took over my hometown. They forced the villagers to pay ’protection money’ every month. If we didn’t pay enough, they would kill people."
"Because I was good at drawing sea charts from a young age, Arlong noticed me and forced me to join his crew. He made a deal with me — if I could gather 100 million berries, he would sell the village back to us and set me free."
"Now... I’ve finally saved enough to buy back my village. There’s even extra money to rebuild it. Thank you so much, Rorschach."
Nami’s voice cracked as she finished speaking. She bowed deeply to Rorschach. (Very white. Very big.)
"Once we return to Cocoyasi Village and I buy it back, I’ll officially join your crew. My dream has always been to draw a map of the entire world. Following you... I think that dream will finally come true."
Nami hadn’t felt this happy since Bellemere died. Having companions who genuinely cared about her felt warm and comforting.
However, Karina frowned.
"Nami, you’re really going to trust a promise from those pirates? Instead of buying the village with money, I think it’d be better to let Rorschach help you take it back from Arlong by force."
"That’s right," Rorschach stepped forward. "Arlong has been rooted in Cocoyasi Village for so long. He must have connections with the local Marines. If we don’t eliminate both Arlong and those corrupt Marines, the villagers will just end up enslaved again."
"But if you attack the Marines, you’ll become a wanted pirate," Nami said worriedly.
"It’s fine. As long as we do it cleanly, no one will know. And even if I become a pirate, we can still continue our adventure. The Marines can’t do anything to me," Rorschach said casually, but to Nami, his words felt incredibly reliable and safe.
"...Okay," Nami nodded softly, comforted by his confidence.
Karina nodded in agreement. "Exactly. If we’re doing this, we should eliminate the threat completely. But Rorschach, you’d better be careful and keep it quiet, or we won’t be able to cash in bounties anymore!"
"Hahaha, as long as nothing unexpected happens," Rorschach laughed.
"Now, tell me about the Arlong Pirates. How many members do they have? Do any of them leave the village for other islands?"
"Including me, there are about 60 members. Besides me, they’re all fishmen. They usually operate as a full group. Unless there’s something special, they stay inside Arlong Park."
Nami told them everything she knew about the crew, but before she could explain each fishman’s abilities, Rorschach interrupted her.
"That’s enough. I only needed the numbers."
Nami blinked in confusion. "Don’t you need to know their abilities to make a plan?"
"No need. As long as they’re all gathered in one place, that’s enough. Anyone who dares to bully my navigator won’t leave the East Blue alive."
"Besides, you already know my strength. If they’re all together, I can wipe them out in an instant."
Rorschach winked at Nami, telling her not to worry.
"Then it’s decided. Tomorrow we head for Cocoyasi Village," Karina declared.
"Before that, there’s something I want to show you guys." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
Now that the timing felt right, Rorschach took out the latest system reward — the Crew Training Room.
The room granted a 1.5x training efficiency boost for anyone inside, whether they were training their bodies or studying.
For someone like Kaya with her Medical Talent, the effects would be even stronger.
Rorschach had been looking for ways to help the three girls grow stronger. Karina also needed time to master her new Barrier Fruit. This training room was perfect timing.
He pulled a elegant, ornate door from his Storage Space.
"Uh... this is... a door?" Nami asked, confused.
"Hehe, follow me. You’ll understand once you see it."
Rorschach opened the door. Behind it was a pure white space that seemed to stretch on forever.
The three girls stared in shock and followed him inside like curious kittens.
"This is a special space created by a Devil Fruit. Training or studying inside here gives you 1.5 times the normal efficiency." freewebnoveℓ.com
"You can come here to train whenever you have free time."
Rorschach explained the room’s effects while casually attributing it to another mysterious Devil Fruit (he couldn’t tell them it was a system reward).
"Can doors even eat Devil Fruits?" Kaya asked, blinking her big adorable eyes.
"Yeah. Devil Fruits can attach to inanimate objects. The World Government supposedly has technology for that. I don’t know exactly what fruit this door ate, but I’ve trained inside it a lot. That’s why I’m so strong now."
"Wow... ever since I got on this ship, my common sense keeps getting destroyed. Am I still dreaming?" Karina muttered, clutching her head.
"Hahaha! If I hadn’t gotten lucky, I wouldn’t believe something like this existed either," Rorschach laughed heartily, enjoying their shocked reactions.
"Karina, don’t slack off. Use this room to practice your Barrier Fruit abilities."
"Nami, you need to train your physical fitness too. Once your bodies are strong enough, I’ll teach you both Armament Haki and Observation Haki."
Karina and Nami’s eyes lit up. They had seen Rorschach and Naguri using those powers during their fight and had been longing for that kind of strength ever since.
"You promised!" they said together.
"Of course. I always keep my word," Rorschach said, rubbing both girls’ heads.
"What about me, Lord Rorschach?" Kaya puffed her cheeks cutely, a little jealous that the others had plans while she didn’t.
"You’ll train with us too, Kaya. I’ll make a special plan for you so you can protect yourself. But your main focus should still be studying medicine. Once you’ve mastered what we have now, I’ll find skilled doctors for you to learn from."
Rorschach gently stroked Kaya’s hair. She closed her eyes and happily leaned into his hand.
"Alright, let’s eat first! After dinner, we’ll start the training plan!"
