Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Underground Fighting Ring
Yi Xuesha answered Chen Qingdi’s question truthfully.
"There’s an underground fighting ring here, too?"
Hearing this, Chen Qingdi paused, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes.
"How strong are the fighters in this underground ring?"
Chen Qingdi asked Yi Xuesha excitedly.
"They should be decent, I suppose. I’ve never been, so I can’t answer that, Master."
Hearing this, Chen Qingdi didn’t say much more and just waved his hand.
"Let’s go. We’ll know once we see it for ourselves."
"If they’re any good, I might have a little fun."
Chen Qingdi grinned, a fanatical gleam in his eyes.
Seeing this, the hairs on Yi Xuesha’s body stood on end.
Because from the look on his face, Chen Qingdi wasn’t joking at all.
’But if he provokes the organization so brazenly, I’m afraid some of the Elders will be forced to act.’
Yi Xuesha looked at Chen Qingdi worriedly and said, "Master, isn’t this a bit too high-profile? What if we attract those old monsters from the Celestial Ninja Group?"
In response, Chen Qingdi said nothing and walked straight into the elevator.
Inside the elevator stood an elder in a Tang suit, accompanied by a young man with an imposing air.
The young man glanced at Chen Qingdi, a disdainful expression immediately appearing on his face. He said to the Elder in the Tang Suit, "Look, Grandpa. Nowadays, any rookie dares to show up at this underground fighting ring. I really don’t get it. Are these amateurs just coming here to make fools of themselves?"
As the young man spoke to the Elder in the Tang Suit, he pointed a finger right at Chen Qingdi, not caring in the least if he was overheard.
He simply didn’t see Chen Qingdi as a threat.
"How dare you!"
"Who gave you permission to be rude to my master?"
Chen Qingdi ignored him, simply not wanting to waste his time.
But Yi Xuesha was not like Chen Qingdi.
The moment she heard the young man mocking Chen Qingdi, her eyes, when she looked at him, were already filled with killing intent.
But the young man didn’t notice and continued his disrespect toward Chen Qingdi.
’As Chen Qingdi’s new subordinate, I have to prove my worth to my master. Otherwise, he’s bound to doubt my loyalty. Now that this young man is being disrespectful to him again, it’s the perfect opportunity for me to act.’
"You bitch, what did you say?"
"Who the hell does your master think he is? You want to stick up for him?"
A sudden burst of aura erupted from the young man, forcing Yi Xuesha back a step.
Seeing this, Chen Qingdi’s brow suddenly furrowed.
He didn’t care what they did to him.
In his eyes, these guys were just all bark and no bite.
But bullying his people right in front of him? That was not acceptable.
Without another word, Chen Qingdi struck out with his palm. Before the young man could react, he was sent flying into the elevator wall.
「At the same time.」
Because Chen Qingdi hadn’t controlled his strength, the blow caused the entire elevator to shudder violently.
Seeing his grandson struck, the Elder in the Tang Suit slammed his cane down hard, and an imposing aura erupted from him.
Chen Qingdi could feel the power of that aura.
’But it’s still a far cry from the old man’s.’
"Young man, my Pu Family has never offended you. Why would you do this to my grandson?"
The Elder in the Tang Suit spoke, his entire being exuding the air of someone in a position of power—a disposition cultivated from years of high status.
Even if he had fallen from grace, that aura would not change.
"Your grandson lacks discipline, so I taught him a lesson for you. Is there a problem, old sir?"
Chen Qingdi stepped in front of the Elder in the Tang Suit and sneered before replying.
"Heh, of course, there’s no problem. But I hope for your sake you don’t run into my grandson in the fighting ring. Otherwise, you’ll die a miserable death."
The Elder in the Tang Suit said this sarcastically, then led the young man out of the elevator.
Chen Qingdi, unconcerned, also stepped out of the elevator.
As he walked into the underground fighting ring, a fierce roar of voices immediately hit him.
"Kill him, Bloodthirsty Butcher!"
"Yeah, break his legs! That’s it, beautiful!"
In a giant circular arena, countless dignitaries and wealthy elites, dressed in lavish clothes and wearing expensive watches, sat in the stands cheering for their chosen fighters.
Here, every fighter had their own win rate and betting odds.
And the only pleasure for these elites was to bet millions on a fighter’s victory.
If they won, their bet would be doubled!
If they lost, the fighter would be disposed of by the ring’s management, their body never to be found whole.
It was an extremely high-risk job, but the rewards were considerable. A fighter could typically earn one or two hundred thousand.
As for someone like the Boxing Champion, they could basically name their price.
Because as long as he was fighting, the tycoons who bet on him simply couldn’t lose.
"This underground fighting ring is actually somewhat interesting."
Chen Qingdi glanced around and found that the facilities were remarkably complete; they had everything.
Moreover, the fighters here were almost all Martial Artists; ordinary people were a rare sight.
"Yi Xuesha, go find the organizers for me and sign me up as a fighter. I’m going to enter the ring myself."
Chen Qingdi instructed Yi Xuesha.
"Master, are you sure?"
"The fighters here are a bunch of cold-blooded killers. And if you lose, they’ll dispose of you immediately."
Yi Xuesha asked worriedly.
"Just go do what I told you. Stop with the nonsense."
"These guys? They’re nothing compared to the inmates in the Bloody Prison."
Chen Qingdi said dismissively.
Upon hearing "Bloody Prison," Yi Xuesha froze on the spot.
"What!"
"Master, you’ve been to the Bloody Prison? The place known as the most terrifying forbidden zone in the world?!"
Yi Xuesha asked, her face a mask of shock.
"That’s right. What’s so surprising about it? I was the boss of everyone in there. I’ve beaten every single one of them."
"Oh, right. I remember there was a Japanese guy, some Divine Way Sword Saint from your country. Just because I took his two swords, he smashed his head against a wall and killed himself. Do you know him?"
Chen Qingdi asked Yi Xuesha.
Hearing this, Yi Xuesha was so frightened she nearly collapsed.
The Divine Way Sword Saint!
He was the number two Sword Saint in all of Japan!
And yet, Chen Qingdi had taken his swords and driven him to suicide!
’Thinking about it, just how terrifying is Chen Qingdi’s strength?’
Yi Xuesha didn’t dare to think about it any further. She scrambled to her feet and ran over to the organizers to register Chen Qingdi as a fighter.
