Suddenly, Zhao Rong sat up, pulled a dart from his pocket, and threw it at the dark figure on the balcony. His aim was perfect; the dart struck the figure squarely in the face. A scream tore through the night as the shadow immediately toppled off the balcony, landing with a heavy thud on the ground below.
Zhao Rong stepped forward and explained to the three women, "Just now, a shadowy figure tried to climb onto our balcony from below. I hit it with a dart and knocked it from the second floor down to the first."
Lili frowned, recalling the shriek. "Big Bro," she said, "why do I get the feeling that scream sounded like the assistant?"
Yu Lan rushed to the balcony and looked down. The moment she saw the man lying on the ground, she gasped and covered her mouth. Turning to Zhao Rong, she exclaimed, "Big Bro Zhao Rong, that’s not just some guy—it’s the assistant!"
Hearing that he’d sent the assistant plummeting from the second floor with a single dart, Zhao Rong leaped onto the balcony. He looked down at the assistant, who was lying flat on his back with his feet in the air. "Assistant!" he called down. "How did you even get into the Magic Academy?"
Yu Lan sounded exasperated. "Assistant, if you wanted to come in, you should have used the main gate! Why were you trying to climb the balcony like a thief? You were just asking to be hit with a dart by Big Bro Zhao Rong and knocked down..."

Straining as he pulled himself up the bedsheets, the assistant said with a laugh, "Haven’t you guys noticed? The student dorms at this Magic Academy are co-ed!"
Hearing this, Zhao Rong and the three women deflated. "We thought you’d discovered a real secret..." they said, disappointed. "That’s a well-known rule. How boring..."
As the three women spoke, they completely forgot they were holding the rope. Their hands went slack, and the bedsheets—along with the assistant—plummeted from the second floor once again.
Just as he was about to reach the top, the assistant found himself falling. He crashed to the ground and cried out in agony, "I swear, climbing Mount Meru in my youth wasn’t this painful! What is wrong with you people? First, Big Bro Zhao Rong hits me square in the face with a dart and knocks me from the second floor to the first! Realizing the assistant had misunderstood, Zhao Rong used his Qinggong to leap lightly from the second floor down to the first. He hoisted the assistant onto his shoulder and then jumped straight back up to the second-floor balcony.
Once inside the dorm, the assistant slid to the floor, panting and parched. "This Magic Academy is insane," he gasped. "I had to cross mountains and rivers just to find your room..."
Seeing how thirsty he was, Zhao Rong handed him a bottle of water. "You’ve had a rough time, Assistant. Finding us couldn’t have been easy."
The assistant chugged the entire bottle in one go. Then, he looked around cautiously and lowered his voice. "Big Bro," he said to Zhao Rong, "something’s not right with this place..."
When Zhao Rong and the three women heard him say that, they immediately grew tense. "Assistant, what is it?" they urged. "What’s wrong with the academy? If it’s something horrifying or bizarre, we should leave tonight. We can’t stay here; delays only breed trouble!"
The assistant looked at their nervous faces and announced, "The student dormitories... are co-ed..."
At his words, Zhao Rong and the three women practically fell over.
Lili scrambled back to her feet and pointed a finger at him. "Are you an idiot, Assistant? You already said that! We know! You don’t have to repeat yourself. It’s so annoying!"
