Before they arrived at E City Hospital, An Baobei had already woken up. The anesthesia had worn off, and the wound hurt terribly—she was in pain.

"Hiss—" It hurt so much that An Baobei hadn’t even opened her eyes, yet her face was twisted in pain, and she kept sucking in cold air.

Ning Zihan was sitting by the bedside. Seeing An Baobei waking up and in such pain, he called to her softly and with deep concern, "Baobei?"

Upon hearing the voice, An Baobei felt it was like Ning Zihan, but thinking Ning Zihan wasn’t that gentle, she thought it wasn’t him. Yet, she still opened her eyes to see who was calling her.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she met Ning Zihan’s deeply concerned gaze, which seemed unfamiliar to her, and she was startled for a moment, almost forgetting the intense pain in her abdomen.

Ning Zihan didn’t think there was anything wrong; seeing An Baobei looking at him blankly, as if confused about her current situation, he quickly said, "You were stabbed by a kidnapper, remember?"

An Baobei immediately stopped looking at him blankly and responded coldly, "I remember, it’s just that you seem a bit off."
