Chapter 2294: Chapter 2295: A Major Misunderstanding (Part 5)
Ever since An Baobei went to find Li Junlin, Ning Zihan couldn’t focus on meetings anymore. He kept holding his phone until it chimed with a message, and he quickly checked it.
It was two messages from An Baobei.
After reading them, he replied with a single sentence: "It’s okay, we can just chat online from now on."
As soon as he finished chatting with An Baobei on Weibo, Ning Zihan called Li Junlin.
The moment the call connected, Ning Zihan asked, "She just messaged me, why, isn’t she with you?"
"She couldn’t stay because I was being indifferent to her, so she left for the airport, probably heading home."
"She came all this way, couldn’t you at least invite her for a meal? It’s almost noon!"
Li Junlin immediately snapped, "I did ask her to stay, but she wouldn’t eat. What, am I supposed to beg her to eat? Zihan, if you’re so concerned about her coming all this way, why don’t you just be honest with her? Why sneak around like this? It’s not like you can’t be seen in public!"
Ning Zihan quickly apologized, "I was out of line just now, don’t hold it against me. I’m really frustrated right now, but I still won’t change my mind about living alone, and you should stop wasting your breath mocking me."
Since Ning Zihan had apologized, Li Junlin didn’t dwell on it but advised earnestly, "You might as well take a leap of faith and be with her. No matter what happens in the future, it would be better than how you are now. Look at you, living such a stressful life, clearly in love, yet pretending not to be."
Ning Zihan remained silent.
Seeing Ning Zihan quiet, Li Junlin knew he didn’t want to discuss it further. Instead, he reminded him, "Your sister is married to Su Chengyu now. If she mentions me to your sister, your relationship with me might be revealed. She might even bring up how much I’m in love with Wutong. You should talk to your sister first, so all your efforts to conceal it won’t be in vain."
"Hmm."
After hanging up with Li Junlin, Ning Zihan called Ning Wenxian.
As soon as Ning Wenxian answered, Ning Zihan asked, "Are you alone, or...?"
"I’m alone. Brother, is something up?"
"Close the door, I have something to tell you."
"What’s so mysterious? Hang on, I’ll go close the door." Ning Wenxian was originally reading a book on prenatal education in her room. She got up, set the book aside, closed the door, and then smiled, "Brother, the door’s closed. You can talk now."
However, Ning Zihan didn’t speak immediately and instead asked, "You have to promise me first before I tell you."
"Promise you what?" Ning Wenxian was amused and exasperated. "How am I supposed to agree if you don’t tell me?"
"It’s nothing bad, just promise me quickly."
Ning Wenxian was a bit helpless but agreed, "Alright, I promise. Go ahead."
Since her brother said it wasn’t anything bad, she figured it wouldn’t hurt to agree.
Still, Ning Zihan didn’t get to the point, instead asking, "You remember Junlin Brother, right?"
"Of course, isn’t he your college buddy? No, wait, you two are really close. What’s up?"
"Exactly him. You should know who he likes, right?"
"Hasn’t he always liked Sister Wutong? Really liked her a lot, you told me yourself." Ning Wenxian had seen Li Junlin several times but had only met Li Wutong once. She wasn’t very familiar with her, but she knew who Wutong was.
