Chapter 2350: Chapter 662: The Playboy Disappears, Heading to Country Zi (Part 3)

The young woman, accompanied by two men, walked out of the airport, exchanged some pleasantries with the man, and then the group got into a car and left.

Her departure made everyone feel a bit regretful, yet some astute individuals noticed that the emblem on the Lincoln car was the unique logo of the remarkable Eastern enterprise - Xuanjin Yulong.

...

Inside the car, Zhang Yuksheng appeared exceptionally cheerful.

"Miss, let me introduce you to someone. This is Qi Xiao, the head of Xuanjin Yulong’s Country Zi branch, and a longtime friend of mine."

An Yiqing discreetly observed Qi Xiao. She had heard of him but had never met him in person. Qi Xiao was Zhang Yuksheng’s childhood friend. When Zhang Yuksheng and his sister had their incident, Qi Xiao was studying abroad but still managed to provide considerable help. Zhang Yuksheng had always missed his old friend, and even when he became successful, he didn’t forget to lend him a hand. However, Qi Xiao was also quite talented. He studied management for almost ten years at a renowned higher education institution in Country Zi, from undergraduate to master’s and then doctorate. If not for his parents back home urging him to return home for marriage, this exam enthusiast might have gone on to earn a post-doc before coming back.

Nonetheless, this demonstrated Qi Xiao’s outstanding abilities as a rare talent.

During the launch of Xuanjin Yulong, An Yiqing was vigorously expanding the overseas business. The leader in Country Zi wasn’t originally Qi Xiao; the former manager was competent but overly cautious, sufficient for maintaining status quo but lacking in pioneering spirit. At that time, An Yiqing was concerned about the leadership issue. Unexpectedly, Zhang Yuksheng heard somewhere that Qi Xiao’s career wasn’t going well, and upon understanding the situation, he suggested to An Yiqing to bring Qi Xiao on board.

After hearing Zhang Yuksheng’s description and testing Qi Xiao through video, An Yiqing decisively appointed Qi Xiao as the general manager of the Country Zi branch. She trusted Zhang Yuksheng’s judgment and, of course, believed in her own. Qi Xiao indeed proved to be a talented individual.

Once Qi Xiao took the position, he didn’t disappoint An Yiqing. This workaholic moved his family to Country Zi, and within three months, he helped Xuanjin Yulong establish a foothold and gain recognition there. Later, with intentional support from the Bruch family, Qi Xiao further excelled, transforming Xuanjin Yulong from an obscure company into a renowned enterprise in the business world of Country Zi.

It could be said that Xuanjin Yulong thrived overseas, not just due to An Yiqing’s leadership, but Qi Xiao’s contributions were indispensable too.

Looking at the man before her, An Yiqing smiled and offered a hand, "Qi Xiao, after all those video calls, I finally get to meet you in person today."

"An, An Miss!" Qi Xiao, usually calm, stammered for once. He’s never feared anything, yet he admired this young director immensely. Back then, during Flower Island’s four company acquisition plan, he spent days and nights studying it. He was full of admiration for this young director. Now meeting her in person, he was so nervous he couldn’t speak properly.

"An, director, I’m Qi Xiao!" After a long pause, he blurted out a few awkward words.

An Yiqing laughed, Zhang Yuksheng and Xing Bin also laughed. Qi Xiao’s face turned crimson, internally scolding himself for being useless, but he joined in with a silly grin.

"Mr. Qi, don’t be nervous. I love eating meat but I don’t eat people," An Yiqing winked and said.

Qi Xiao was taken aback. His usually precise brain took a while to realize An Yiqing was joking. A wave of warmth surged in his heart; he sensed An Yiqing’s goodwill and began to understand that this young boss was very amiable when not working.

"Well, director loves meat. I happen to know a restaurant with great food. How about I host dinner tonight for everyone?" Qi Xiao asked tentatively.

With delicious food on offer, An Yiqing certainly wouldn’t decline. She immediately nodded with a cheerful smile, "Great, I wouldn’t refuse then!"

That evening, Qi Xiao took An Yiqing to the Western restaurant he mentioned. The restaurant’s location wasn’t ideal, but quality attracts people, and there were many patrons coming deliberately. Qi Xiao had pre-booked a private room, so they didn’t need to queue.

"Director, the foie gras at this restaurant is quite famous in Wudu City and tastes great," Qi Xiao introduced enthusiastically.

An Yiqing glanced over the menu and handed it to Qi Xiao, "Guests follow the host’s lead. As long as it’s delicious, I’m good."
