Chapter 2346: Chapter 661: Guh Siqi’s Invitation (Part 6)
Guh Siqi gave a bitter smile, "Miss An, do you think I’m not already burdened with shackles? Watching my own elder sister and grandfather turn into monsters, countless innocent lives perished at their hands, the kind of pain you can’t imagine. I even feel that monsters have swallowed the essence of my grandfather and older sister, and turned into their form. I can’t believe my family is like this."
Guh Siqi buried his face painfully in his hands, while An Yiqing looked at him and sighed deeply. This man’s path is not easy. If he wasn’t on the brink of collapse, who would want to personally send their own family to death?
"I can’t promise you anything, but I can tell you that Guh Siyi and the forces behind her, I will absolutely not let them go."
Guh Siqi’s body stiffened, and a muffled voice came through his palms, "Alright, thank you."
That night, Guh Siqi and An Yiqing stayed in the private room for a long time before coming out. As soon as they opened the door, Guh Siqi was momentarily stunned seeing the man outside.
"General Gu?"
Gu Yelin gave him a cold glance, then walked over to wrap an arm around An Yiqing’s waist. He looked at the empty glasses on the table and frowned, "You didn’t have dinner?"
It was only then that An Yiqing remembered she had been talking the whole time and only drank a glass of juice. She secretly stuck out her tongue and retracted her neck, looking at Gu Yelin with a pitiful face.
The man sighed helplessly, "I’ll have the kitchen prepare some late-night snacks, it’s too late now, and the supermarket is closed. You can only make do here."
"Mmm, alright!" An Yiqing’s eyes curved with a smile; the food here is really good.
Guh Siqi silently watched the interaction between the two. The indifferent young lady from earlier transformed in front of this man into a charming little woman. He looked at Gu Yelin, having lived in Xuandu City for over twenty years, he had heard countless tales about this man. Previously, he had some sense of unease about it, but now upon seeing him, he realized he indeed didn’t measure up, not even compared to any other young master.
Who could refrain from first worrying whether their wife was hungry when she walked out of a room with another man? This man’s magnanimity, tolerance, trust, and stature reached a level they ordinary people couldn’t attain.
Perhaps, only he can be worthy of her.
With a faint smile, Guh Siqi stepped forward, "Miss An, sorry for talking so much earlier and not being considerate of you. If there’s a chance in the future, I’ll personally treat you and General Gu. It’s late today, so I’ll head off now."
"Alright." An Yiqing nodded, "Take care, Young Master Guh, I won’t see you off."
Guh Siqi nodded to Gu Yelin and turned towards the elevator. An Yiqing stood there, watching his departing figure, and suddenly spoke up.
"Young Master Guh, wait a moment!"
Guh Siqi was taken aback and turned around, looking at An Yiqing with confusion.
An Yiqing quickly approached, patted his back, "There’s some dust on your clothes. It’s better now, take care, Young Master Guh."
Guh Siqi gave her a strange look before turning to step into the elevator. An Yiqing and Gu Yelin watched the elevator doors slowly close, hand in hand, heading to the top floor.
"Are you planning to help him?" Gu Yelin suddenly asked out of the blue.
"Hmm," An Yiqing blinked, "Guh Siyi and Guh Tian aren’t that foolish, they likely sensed something with him meeting me. Although I wish they would consider family ties, there’s no guarantee they won’t harm Guh Siqi. Installing a bug on him could at least save his life."
Gu Yelin said nothing, pressing the service bell to ask a waiter to bring up the snacks. Soon, a chef personally delivered two fragrant bowls of sweet fermented rice balls. Looking at the adorable little balls in the bowl, An Yiqing instantly beamed with joy, her brows conveying a sense of delight.
"Ah Lin understands my thoughts." She praised generously.
Gu Yelin’s stern features softened immediately. He gently touched her hair and said, "Eat quickly; it’s hard to digest if it’s too late."
That evening, after finishing the snacks, they drove back to the small villa. An Yiqing instructed An Zhiyu to keep monitoring Guh Siqi’s movements, being cautious of any surprises or accidents.
"Did you hear what Guh Siqi said earlier? Do you have any views on the Guh Family’s Forbidden Technique?" An Yiqing asked, walking out of the bathroom.
Gu Yelin got off the bed, pulled An Yiqing over to sit on the chair, and gently dried her hair with a towel.
"I don’t have much opinion on Guh Siyi, but I have some doubts about Guh Tian and Shi Yimeng."
