Chapter 1083: Chapter 759: Hanging Up a Sheep’s Head [01]
April Thomason, who had been standing in the corner watching the scene unfold in such a bizarre direction, couldn’t hold back anymore.
She stepped forward and suspiciously asked, "Exactly the same?"
"Yes."
Nora Scott glanced at her.
She continued, "They were definitely taught by the same teacher."
"No similarities or anything?" April, who had been practicing combat since childhood and didn’t understand these Martial World skills, said, "Judging by your skills, they all seem pretty similar to me."
"..."
Nora looked at her with a profound gaze.
Feeling her own ignorance and inadequacy, April made a zipper gesture across her mouth, indicating she would keep silent.
"Explain." Fátima didn’t doubt Nora but motioned for her to continue.
"..."
Nora, who originally only wanted to share her conclusion, was a bit overwhelmed by their insistence.
But she didn’t mind going into detail.
"Annabelle Pinto had a teacher back in Sandcastle City, learned some rudimentary skills, but nothing worth mentioning." Nora explained slowly, "In the southern Xiangel Province, there’s a near-lost martial skill called Dachen Fist that has fallen into decline and is rarely practiced."
She paused, took a sip of water from Pedro Langley before continuing, "As far as I know, only one person has truly mastered it. Moreover, he simplified and modified many of the moves. I encountered him three years ago while touring Xiangel City."
"He’s over in Xiangel City?" Pedro asked, recalling the incident with the Bay Family and Anthony Santos.
"Yes."
Almost piecing together the entire story, Fátima smiled lightly, "Interesting."
"After I fought him, he was arrested for a crime and hasn’t been released since." Nora straightforwardly concluded, "Thinking about it now, it’s highly likely Annabelle was trained in Meishanel Town, learning the same style, perhaps with some connection to Anthony."
"Tch. Caught so early, lucky for him." April expressed her disdain.
If he’d been caught because of the Bay Family incident, surely he’d face multiple charges, keeping him in prison longer.
Nora shot her a sidelong glance, "He got a life sentence."
April: "..." Instantly calm.
"Though few practice this skill, running into people who coincidentally learned the same routines isn’t very likely." Nora narrowed her eyes, revealing her conclusion, "Unless they were in the same place."
"Can’t rule out that possibility." Fátima nodded, "In other words, there’s a considerable chance. The Bay Family has likely been working with Anthony for years, with Alexander Vaughn as the intermediary. Given Alexander’s meticulous nature, his operatives were likely personally groomed."
Developing your own people comes with advantages.
You know them well;
They meet the standards;
Importantly—they are brainwashed to be loyal.
In Meishanel Town, Nora and others rescued a group, yet Anthony, well-prepared, destroyed part of the documents, leaving them with scant lists, not matching years of elite training.
So, they must have another batch of developed "loyalists" out there.
As for their current identities, occupations, or whose orders they’re following...
That remains unknown.
In essence, they are potential threats.
However, Anthony refuses to speak, and Alexander hasn’t been captured, making it difficult to trace and investigate those "former lists."
Moreover—
These are matters for the police, not Fátima.
At most, Biel Hall might get involved through intelligence gathering.
"So the gist is," April’s brain surprisingly grasped the causality, summarizing the current situation, "that Rita is highly likely sent by Alexander Vaughn?"
Pedro chimed in, "And there might be more than just Rita."
"Alexander Vaughn is quite resourceful," Fátima clicked her tongue, both admiring and sighing, "Annabelle, juggling studies and acting, trained in skills. Rita, with dual bachelor’s, pursuing a direct master’s and doctorate course, once accepted by the world’s top university, yet she declined to attend."
"Damn." April suddenly felt a chill, "Just one could stir considerable trouble, but if it’s a group all loyal to Alexander Vaughn, wouldn’t that cause a major disaster?"
"Who knows."
Fátima answered leisurely.
She glanced at April, "No need to worry too much. After all, there are plenty out there just like you."
"..."
April felt pierced by Fátima’s remark.
Yet, she was too frustrated to retort.
"When trouble comes, there’ll always be someone to resolve it." Fátima said calmly.
"Right." Nora squinted at her, deliberately saying, "Worry less, it’s better than anything."
Fátima chuckled silently under her gaze.
"Stay here till the dust storm passes, then come out." Fátima tucked away the whistle in her hand, instructing, "I’ll have your tent tidied and check on those braving the storm."
"We’re not discussing Rita?" April called after her.
Fátima paused, turned her head, "Are you pointing out now that she was sent by Alexander Vaughn?"
April pouted, "No analysis?"
"Waste of time," Fátima strolled outside, leisurely lifting her hand in a wave, leaving a phrase, "Use your eyes well, it’s more effective than spouting nonsense."
April: "..."
Tch.
"April," Nora suddenly turned to look at her, pondering, "Do you and they share similar traits?"
"Me and them?!"
April jumped up, feeling insulted.
Nora: "..." Never mind, she said nothing.
However, just as she was about to shut up, April, incensed, pointed outside, "They’re a bunch of third-rate trained amateurs, how could they compare to me, trained by an international organization?!"
Nora: "..."
Pedro: "..."
No need to boast about it, either.
