Chapter 108: Chapter 106: The Beautiful Long Whip

Upon learning that the Mammoth Cemetery was on the verge of collapse, Zhaang Ye became tense, putting more and more power into his saber strikes.

He knew that the Little World behind this Light Curtain was probably of immense importance to the Mammoth. ’My own strength is meager, and though I can’t help much, I’ll do what I can.’

As Zhaang Ye increased the power of his saber strikes, the Rebound Force he suffered grew even fiercer. He would get injured dozens of times in a single day. Fortunately, he possessed the Dragon Elephant Skill and had a ready supply of Fierce Beast blood. Whenever he was injured, he would immediately cultivate in the blood to recover, so he was in no real danger.

What Zhaang Ye hadn’t expected was that while he was Healing, he would unexpectedly gain two more wisps of Elephant Power. These two wisps nearly pushed his Dragon Elephant Skill to the Late Fourth Layer.

Zhaang Ye was beginning to understand: the more severe his injuries, the greater his chances of obtaining Elephant Power. Thus, he started to let loose, gradually increasing the force of his attacks on the Light Curtain from 20-30% of his full strength to 50%, 60%, and even 70%.

With the increase in power, Zhaang Ye’s comprehension of Rotating Power deepened. Looking at the Light Curtain, he felt conflicted. ’On one hand, I hope the Mammoth shatters this barrier immediately. On the other, I hope it lasts for a long time—a year or two, even—so I can use it to hone my saber and my strength.’

One man, one mammoth. They did nothing but eat, ram, and slash—no sleep, no rest. Zhaang Ye still paused from time to time to treat his injuries, but the Mammoth simply ignored its wounds, ramming away tirelessly.

Under the Mammoth’s assault, the Light Curtain grew fainter and more transparent. With each impact, the barrier rippled like a wave, looking as if it could shatter at any moment.

The Mammoth roared in excitement, and Zhaang Ye watched the Light Curtain, his face alight with anticipation.

But their excitement was short-lived.

A large boulder suddenly crashed down in front of them. It had clearly fallen from the cavern ceiling. ’The cavern is shedding rock... that means it’s getting closer and closer to collapsing!’

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM— Seeing the falling rock, the Mammoth began ramming with frantic desperation. The successive impacts subjected it to immense Rebound Force, and blood began to seep from its head, legs, and eyes. It was a miserable sight.

Zhaang Ye no longer dared to hold back, unleashing his full power with every strike. He poured 120% of his True Qi into each slash, and the resulting Rebound Force made his internal injuries progressively worse.

When his injuries became too severe to continue striking, Zhaang Ye would immediately retreat into the pool of Fierce Beast blood to mend his body.

To Zhaang Ye’s pleasant surprise, after sustaining such severe injuries, the wisps of Elephant Power found him once again. In just one day, he managed to gain two more, causing his Dragon Elephant Skill to improve significantly. He felt he could break through to the Late Fourth Layer at any moment.

Zhaang Ye estimated that with just one more wisp of Elephant Silk, he would surely break into the Late Fourth Layer!

As his Dragon Elephant Skill advanced at lightning speed, Zhaang Ye’s comprehension of the Rotating Power also deepened. By combining his Footwork Technique, Body Technique, and Saber Technique, he could now use the Rotating Power to deflect as much as 30% of the Rebound Force. Moreover, he integrated the Rotating Power into his Reverse Flow Slash, making his strikes even more formidable—his Attack Power was now over 50% greater than before!

The Light Curtain trembled more and more violently under the relentless assault.

After another day of this frantic ramming, something finally gave. Zhaang Ye distinctly heard a faint cracking sound.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The Mammoth continued to ram it. The sound of cracking grew louder as the Light Curtain’s color faded, becoming so faint it was nearly transparent. Zhaang Ye could almost see the world on the other side.

CRACK! With one more ram from the Mammoth, the Light Curtain finally shattered into countless pieces and slowly faded away. As it vanished, a brilliant white light accompanied by a terrifying aura surged out from the doorway. Caught completely off guard, the pressure caused all of Zhaang Ye’s injuries to erupt at once. He instantly coughed up several mouthfuls of blood and was sent flying hundreds of feet.

Zhaang Ye scrambled to his feet in horror, circulating the Dragon Elephant Skill to heal his wounds.

The Mammoth strode toward the stone gate, the powerful aura having no effect on it whatsoever.

Zhaang Ye watched the Mammoth go, remaining perfectly still.

He had a faint feeling just now. ’This gate only opens for the Elephant Race. Any other creature that gets close will be fiercely attacked. Even though I cultivate the Dragon Elephant Skill, I’m still a member of the Human Race, which is why the gate attacked me.’

The Mammoth reached the gate and took a step inside. Just then, something struck Zhaang Ye on the head. He reflexively snatched it and saw that it was a piece of rock.

Zhaang Ye glanced around and saw chunks of rock falling everywhere. The sound of CRACKLE, CRACKLE filled the air, like a downpour.

’The Mammoth has gone inside. It’s time for me to go, too.’ Zhaang Ye cast a regretful glance at the Mammoth Cemetery and sighed. This place was suffused with Elephant Power. If he could have cultivated here a while longer, he was certain he could have quickly advanced to the 5th Layer of the Dragon Elephant Skill. But alas, the place was about to be destroyed.

"Hey, big guy, I’m heading out!" Zhaang Ye shouted toward the Mammoth as it was about to disappear through the gate. "You focus on your Cultivation! I’m sure we’ll meet again!" Then he picked up the twenty whiskers of the Long-bearded White-footed Beast and started to leave.

GRRRUMBLE!

The deep, powerful sound of the Mammoth suddenly echoed from within the gate. With it, a fiery-red object floated out, heading straight for Zhaang Ye.

Zhaang Ye, startled, reached out and caught it. The fiery-red object was, in fact, a Long Whip, entirely pink and as slender as his little finger. The whip was incredibly soft, feeling like a coil of rope in his hand. If not for its grip, Zhaang Ye would have mistaken it for one. He examined the body of the whip more closely. It was smooth, delicate, and faintly translucent. A strange, pink luminescence seemed to flow within it, exceptionally vivid and beautiful. Zhaang Ye knew he would never forget that color after seeing it just once.

It was an exquisitely beautiful Long Whip!

Zhaang Ye knew the Mammoth had given it to him. He called out toward the gate, "Thanks, big fella!" freewebnσvel.cøm

After shouting his thanks, Zhaang Ye felt the number of falling rocks increase. Wasting no more time, he quickly secured the Long Whip to his waist, leaped over the piles of mammoth skeletons, and plunged back into the dark and silent canyon.
