Chapter 718: Chapter 689: Love in a Parallel Universe [011]
"I’ll go with you."
Simon Forrester also stood up, pressing her arms gently with his hands and helping her walk out.
Although she was very weak at this time, she could feel the blood in her body stirring with excitement.
The warmth from the man’s palms transferred through the fabric to her arm, hot and comforting.
He helped her into the bathroom and, before leaving, softly instructed, "I’ll be waiting outside, call me if you need anything."
"Okay."
He closed the door, and she locked it, sitting on the toilet as a wave of discomfort hit her.
During this time, she heard Simon Forrester outside asking the flight attendant for gastrointestinal medicine and requesting to check if there was a doctor on board.
This was what a sense of reassurance felt like.
.
Perhaps there wasn’t much left to expel, as Sienna Thorne quickly found relief after a brief episode.
Simon Forrester helped her back to her seat. The flight attendant brought the medication over, mentioning that there was an internal medicine doctor in the economy class who could help if needed.
Fortunately, after taking the medicine, she felt somewhat better and no longer needed to rush to the bathroom.
She later dozed off again, and during that time, Simon Forrester woke her once to remind her to take her medicine. When she woke up again, the plane had already landed.
She removed her sleep mask and glanced around.
The other passengers in the cabin were taking out their luggage, getting ready to leave the plane, while Simon Forrester was packing up his laptop.
She closed her eyes briefly, patted her head, and slowly sat up using the armrest for support.
The blanket that had covered her slipped to the floor.
She remembered she hadn’t covered herself with a blanket before sleeping.
Realizing it might have been Simon Forrester who had covered her, a warmth surged in her heart.
She propped herself up, "Thank you for covering me with the blanket."
Unknowingly, she had stopped addressing him so formally.
Simon Forrester bent to pick up the blanket, smiling, "Are you feeling better?"
Sienna blushed.
His smile was so captivating! So captivating!
She felt her face burning, and in the next second, the man’s warm palm was on her forehead.
Her eyes widened, stunned.
His warm palm was slightly calloused, and where he touched felt electrified.
Yet, he withdrew his hand after just a few seconds.
"No fever," he said, looking at her white-and-red complexion with uncertainty. "Do you have any friends in London?"
She regained her senses, softly replying, "...No."
"What brings you to London alone?"
"Work."
Simon Forrester nodded, standing up to take down his carry-on from the luggage compartment.
Just as Sienna was about to ask him to help with hers, she saw him first take down her suitcase, then grab his own black leather backpack.
As she reached for her suitcase, he had already pulled up the handle for her. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Let’s go, we’ll leave together," he said.
"Okay."
The two exited the cabin one after the other.
Along the way, Sienna walked slowly due to her weakness, and Simon Forrester slowed his pace to match hers.
She felt unwell and wasn’t in the mood to talk, and Simon Forrester didn’t speak much to her either, occasionally making phone calls or replying to messages, seeming quite busy.
They collected their luggage, one for each of them. Simon Forrester placed her small carry-on on top of her larger suitcase and exited the airport, pulling both.
By then, it was evening in London, the sky a mix of pink and purple with a golden hue at the horizon, making it appear very beautiful and romantic.
As soon as they exited the airport lobby, Sienna took out her phone and snapped a picture.
"Where are you staying?" Simon Forrester asked.
She put away her phone, "At The Bvlgari Hotel near Hyde Park."
"I’ll take you there."
"Okay, thank you."
In the confined space of the taxi, neither spoke, amplifying the awkward silence.
Unable to bear the quiet, Sienna, despite not feeling well and not wanting to talk, politely asked, "Where are you staying? Will taking me to the hotel delay your plans?"
"I’m also staying at The Bvlgari, so it’s on the way."
Sienna was stunned for a few seconds, her face burning again as she quietly uttered, "What a coincidence."
After that, the two didn’t converse further.
At the hotel reception, they checked in separately, and Simon Forrester walked her to her room before leaving.
Before departing, he handed her a packet of medicine, "This is the same medicine you took on the plane. Take it again before dinner, and if you’re not better by tomorrow, make sure to see a doctor."
This was the longest sentence he had spoken to her since they’d met.
Even though he spoke plainly, without any special tone or look, her heart still skipped a beat.
But upon calming down, she reminded herself not to overthink things, as doing so would really just be wishful thinking.
She paced around the room to distract herself.
The room was quite spacious, with a view of the London streets.
The air was filled with the classic Bvlgari fragrance, making her feel as if she had stepped into a beautiful perfume box.
The aroma soothed her tensed nerves; her stomach didn’t feel as uncomfortable anymore, though she still felt quite weak.
She browsed through some cases for a while. As dinner time approached, she took the medicine Simon Forrester gave her, showered, and headed to the downstairs buffet restaurant for dinner.
Upon entering the restaurant, she immediately saw Simon Forrester dining by the window.
Her heart skipped a beat, unsure whether to go over and greet him.
The buffet restaurant played elegant, soothing instrumental music, with hot and cold dishes displayed on the central island table.
Sienna picked up some hot oxtail soup and a bowl of warm porridge.
Carrying her plate, she walked to Simon Forrester’s table, "Good evening, Mr. Forrester."
Simon Forrester looked up, gesturing lightly to the seat across from him with a faint smile, "Please sit."
"Okay." She sat down.
Simon Forrester glanced at the simple food on her plate and asked, "Did you take your medicine?"
"I took it half an hour ago."
He nodded and put down his knife and fork, gesturing to a server.
The server approached, nodding, "Good evening, sir."
"Could you bring some oil-absorbing sheets for the lady?"
Soon, the server brought over a pack of soup oil-absorbing sheets.
Simon Forrester took out one sheet, "Oxtail soup can be greasy, and your stomach is upset, so it’s better to remove the oil before drinking." Carefully, he opened the sheet and skimmed the surface of her soup.
She felt flattered, "Thank you."
Simon Forrester said nothing, wrapping up the sheet and continuing with his meal.
He sat upright, his lips closed tightly as he chewed, with his jaw moving in a rhythmic motion, making no noise at all, displaying apparent good manners and grace even while eating.
Sienna dared not speak to him further and slowly sipped her soup. After warming her stomach, she started on her porridge.
Simon Forrester finished eating before her but didn’t leave right away, instead taking out his phone to browse for a while.
She continued eating her porridge slowly, nearly finishing it when she suddenly heard him ask, "Are you busy tonight?"
Without thinking much, she replied, "Going over some case files."
"There’s a few nice coffee shops nearby, care to join me for a cup?"
Drinking coffee at night made her insomnia worse, but now Simon Forrester was inviting her for coffee.
Of course, she had to go.
She pursed her lips, smiled, and said, "I should be the one treating you, you’ve helped me out so much."
He chuckled, "Sure."
