Chapter 595: Chapter 595: Taking Her Straight onto the Plane

Sensing her hesitation, Walker Grant took her by the hand and pulled her down onto the sofa. "You’re cooped up at home all day," he said calmly. "It’s easy to overthink things. Getting out for a while would do you good."

Chloe Reed furrowed her brow. "But is it really a good time to go out?"

Walker Grant nodded. "It’s a good time because I say it is. Go on, pick one. You need to get out and relax. You’re too tense. Besides, it’s not like we’ll be getting any news about Vera Holloway anytime soon."

Chloe Reed lowered her gaze to the brochures in front of her, then opened them to look through them one by one.

There were itineraries for the desert, the grasslands, and even The Primordia Jungle...

After a quick glance, she looked up at him. "Why are all of these so remote?"

"Being close to nature is good for you," Walker Grant said, his lips curving into a smile. "It broadens your horizons and helps you completely unwind."

Chloe Reed looked back at the options, silent for a moment before saying, "Let’s go to the desert, then."

"Alright."

Walker Grant nodded. "I’ll arrange the itinerary. For now, go tell Grandma." freewēbnoveℓ.com

Chloe Reed asked, "Aren’t we taking Grandma and Noah?"

Walker Grant shook his head. "No. Just the two of us."

After a pause, he squeezed her hand. "Can we treat this as a makeup honeymoon? Right after the wedding, I got swamped with work at the company, and we never had a proper one."

Chloe Reed immediately pulled her hand away. "If that’s what you’re thinking," she said coolly, "then forget it. There’s no need to go."

Walker Grant was left speechless.

’A miscalculation.’

’He’d been too rash, blurting out his true intentions like that.’

He quickly grabbed her hand again. "That was just a thought. Since you don’t like it, I won’t mention it again. Just think of this as a trip to relax, that’s all."

Chloe Reed stood up. "I’ll think about it."

With that, she walked out of the room.

Walker Grant was speechless.

He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, his eyes growing deeper and darker.

Just then, his phone rang. He pulled it out and saw it was a call from his special assistant, Dylan Finch.

"Hello?"

Dylan Finch said, "Mr. Grant, we have a location on the Holloways. Their plane landed in Breyburn. They’ve bought a villa in the southern district and are staying there."

Walker Grant’s eyes darkened. "Arrange a helicopter immediately. File a flight plan for City S."

"Yes, sir."

After hanging up, Walker Grant didn’t mention any of this to Chloe Reed, simply going about his business as usual.

That night, he went straight to her room and wore her out until she could barely keep her eyes open. He then bathed her, dressed her, and carried her out of Jardinelle.

It wasn’t until they were on the helicopter that Chloe Reed groggily regained some awareness and opened her eyes.

The realization that she was on a helicopter shocked her fully awake. She shot up and glared at the man beside her. "What is the meaning of this?!"

Walker Grant said, "The desert scenery is lovely. We can experience the dramatic temperature swings, ride camels, and see the stars. It’s beautiful. You’re going to love it."

Chloe Reed’s face was ice-cold. "But I told you I needed to think about it."

Walker Grant just shrugged. "But we’re already on the helicopter, Chloe. Since we’re here, let’s just not worry about it, okay?"
