Chapter 589: Chapter 589: Self-Rescue

Iris Yates forcefully suppressed the turmoil in her heart and nodded. "Mhm, I will."

But the moment she spoke, the way William Quinn was nuzzling against her came to a stop.

He suddenly cupped her face in his hands. His blue eyes scrutinized her, refusing to miss a single shift in her expression.

The next second, he grinned and said, "Baby. My baby. You’ve learned to lie. You’ve been afraid of me this whole time, always wanting to escape my side. How could you possibly miss me? To placate me, you actually learned to lie. You’re not a good baby anymore."

Iris Yates’s eyes widened in shock. She’d thought he would want to hear those sweet nothings, never expecting him to see right through her.

"I didn’t..."

"Shh!"

William Quinn pressed a finger to her lips and said in a low voice, "Baby, I’ve gotten to know you very well. You’re not a good actress, so just be yourself. Don’t get any dangerous ideas. This island is a three-hour flight from the nearest country. You can’t escape."

The color instantly drained from Iris Yates’s face.

Seeing her genuine reaction, however, only displeased him. His face darkened, and he suddenly leaned in, crushing his mouth to hers in a fierce kiss.

The force was overwhelming, as if he wanted to devour her whole. He gave her no chance to breathe, and only when she felt herself suffocating, her face growing even paler, did he finally let her go.

"Be a good girl and wait here for me to come back. Don’t try anything stupid, or I’ll get upset." William Quinn cupped her face, staring into her eyes. "Baby, if you do something that makes me unhappy, I’ll get a chain and lock you up. I’ll fuck you every day until you cry."

Iris Yates’s body began to tremble, and she couldn’t utter a single word.

To her, William Quinn was a madman!

"Don’t be afraid. As long as you’re good, I would never do that to you." A gentle expression returned to William Quinn’s face. He placed a kiss of immense tenderness on her forehead, then straightened up, turned, and left the living room.

Iris Yates remained seated on the sofa. It took a long moment before she regained control of her body. She wrapped her arms around herself, her face pale. Even though it had been a month, it still felt like a dream.

’How could something like this be happening to me?’

’This is terrifying.’ freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

’I have to escape!’

’I absolutely will not stay here! I absolutely will not stay by his side!’

Watching the helicopter fly away into the distance, Iris Yates began to plot her escape. This was an island; the only way off was by helicopter.

’Should I try to get help from the outside world?’

’But the island is crawling with his men. How can I avoid his spies and contact the outside?’

Iris Yates racked her brains for a whole day and finally came up with a plan.

That evening, she called for the maids and told them she wanted a red wine bath, asking them to prepare plenty of red wine.

The maids brought over William Quinn’s entire prized collection. Seeing the expensive labels, Iris Yates was secretly dumbfounded.

’Bathing in wine that costs tens of thousands a bottle? Isn’t that a little too extravagant?’

’Whatever.’

’It’s not my money!’

"Alright, you can all leave now. I can handle it myself from here." Looking at the twenty-odd bottles of red wine on the floor, Iris Yates said to the maids.

The maids nodded and left the bathroom.

Iris Yates walked over and locked the door from the inside. She then turned on the faucet to mask any noise, then began pouring the red wine into the bathtub. She used a hairdryer to dry the moisture out of the empty bottles, and then stuffed the notes she had prepared beforehand inside.

She stuffed a note into every single bottle. On them, she had written her name, her phone number, and a friend’s phone number. She prayed that some kind-hearted person would see one, help her contact her family and friends, and rescue her.
