Chapter 1173: Chapter 1173: Former Saraf

Nero cursed Bai Ze a thousand times in his heart for releasing this uncontrollable monster, who knows what side he would take? If he knew that his successor’s lineage was being stripped away, would he lash out at him in rage? That would truly be a case of trying to steal a chicken only to lose the rice used to lure it.

Saraf saw Nero looking at him but unable to speak, he wasn’t angry and instead turned to look in another direction in the crowd and continued asking, "Are you the descendant and current Clan Leader of the Fire Phoenix Race?"

Phoenix, who was thrown into the rubble, stood up, his expression solemn as he looked at Saraf and replied, "Indeed!"

"Hehehe, in the Phoenix Race, only when you become the Clan Leader do you inherit the name Phoenix, and from the time I was sealed, you must be the son of the old Phoenix." Saraf said as he flapped his wings and slowly descended from the air, his massive body occupying most of the site, squeezing both groups outside the ruins. Feeling the collision of external energy waves from outside the Dragon Realm, that huge, ugly black dragon head actually showed a rather humanlike playful smile and mocked, "It seems the old Ancestral God really achieved his goal, allowing the two races to coexist peacefully, and to think I’d see the day when the two races fight side by side, hahahaha, the current Magic Race has really fallen."

"Saraf, now that the Dragon Realm has been invaded by external enemies, the two races have joined forces to clear out the invaders. These people are one of those invading enemies. You are also part of our race, I don’t expect you to help us repel the enemy, I only ask you to watch from the sidelines. Once the major enemy is eradicated, I think the Ancestral God will give you an answer on your affairs." Facing the pressure from Saraf, Phoenix knew that if this monster unleashed its fury, it would be a catastrophe for the entire Dragon Realm. He now had to do his best to calm the other’s emotions.

"What does that have to do with me? To you, I’m a traitor, a deceased, and the so-called enemies in your mouth saved me from an endless, lightless seal! As for the Ancestral God’s answer, hahahaha! What answer will he give me? For the prosperity of the Dragon Realm, what a joke!" Saraf said as he stood up, roaring with Dragon Breath spurting from his nostrils and the heat waves blowing everyone back repeatedly. He glanced around and roared, "He’s just balancing both races for his control, and more so coveting this body of mine as his substitute! Only fools like you would believe his agitprop, prosperity? Eradicating the Daoist Race would make for the prosperity of one race, wouldn’t it?"

"This world was created by the joint rise of the two races. With only one race existing for long periods, it would lead to the tilt of spatial origin energy, homogenizing us with other planes!" Knowing Saraf was beyond reasoning, Phoenix still tried to explain the rationale behind it to him.

"That’s just a hypothesis, no one can prove that it will truly happen, yet for this hypothesis, you abandoned me who fought for the clan my whole life, chose to believe in the Ancestral God! Watched as I battled him and was eventually sealed by him without lifting a finger! Whether such a clan, such a Dragon Realm exists is of no meaning to me, destroying it aligns more with my intentions! I’d like to see what expression that old Ancestral God will have after seeing the Dragon Realm he painstakingly managed being destroyed!"

Saraf said, flapping his giant wings and slowly leaving the ground. As he opened his mouth wide, the surrounding crowd drew a collective gasp, realizing the danger just in time to dodge. From his mouth erupted a blistering pillar of Dragon Flame. This destruction-laden flame swept across the field with Saraf’s dragon head swaying, igniting everything in its path to ashes.

"He’s a madman!" Nero made several flickering leaps out of the area of the Dragon Breath and looked at the towering wall of fire before him, shouting furiously. Initially, he was worried that Saraf might be enemy-heavy, but now, he realized his worries were unnecessary. This guy considered no one as his friend. When he launched his attack, he didn’t care that you had rescued him, sending forth relentless dragon flame attacks on everyone indiscriminately.

"Isn’t this just right? With this madman disrupting the situation, we can attend to our own business now. The Dragon Realm doesn’t have the energy to mind us!" Bai Ze looked at the awe-inspiring Saraf, jumped into the air and shouted at him, "Mr. Saraf, my teacher has always longed to meet you since learning of your existence. Today, by some stroke of luck, I managed to break your seal and let you escape. If you get a chance to evade Dragon Realm’s pursuit, consider visiting my Land of Blood Slaughter, where my teacher will personally lead a team to welcome you with the utmost hospitality." As he spoke, Bai Ze raised an arm and placed a specially prepared mark on Saraf’s body, continuing, "This is the spatial coordinate for my Land of Blood Slaughter. Should Mr. Saraf be interested, you are welcome to walk a journey there. At least, in dealing with the Ancestral God and destroying the Dragon Realm, I think we have many common topics to discuss. Now, I have a small task to handle, so I must take my leave."

"Get lost!" Slowly absorbing the spatial mark into his body, Saraf gave no explicit response to Bai Ze’s words, merely spitting out these two cold words as a response. Watching the group from Blood Slaughter retreat under Bai Ze’s collection, Phoenix’s subordinates made a move to chase but were pulverized by Saraf’s lightning-charged wing motions, using his action to make his stance clear.

Watching as his pursuers and the reinforcements from the Dragon Realm were all drawn to Saraf, who had been released, Nero was delighted and asked, "After all that effort to release him, aren’t you going to manage him?"

"The people of Dragon Realm can’t handle him. Whether they can subdue him is one thing! Even if they can, they wouldn’t dare be too harsh. This is, after all, the vessel the Ancestral God wants to possess. Hahaha, even if they’re forced to kill him when all else fails, so what? Losing this mighty body is also a form of weakening the Ancestral God, so releasing him is all benefits and no harm to us." Bai Ze said, glancing back at the towering flames and the crowd rushing towards the rampaging Saraf, a sly glint flashed in his eyes as he smiled, "If he really has the strength to break through, and he turns to my teacher when he’s desperate, that means we have one more ally. Besides, if something unexpected happens today, he can still be our stepping stone!"

"I don’t care about any of that, now that we’ve shaken off our chasers, we can finally search for our true goal, right?" Ivan, face gloomy, followed closely beside Bai Ze, said impatiently, "But until now, we only know where Pei Yan is hiding in the Dragon Palace. Do we have to turn the whole Dragon Palace upside down?"

"Do you think I’d do things as brainlessly as you, acting hastily without a plan?"
