Chapter 20: 20: Plan B.
Silence filled the room for what seemed like a minute. Awkward, painful silence as Ayra kept her eyes down.
"Look up, dear female," Ash, the fox, requested as Ayra slowly looked up to meet their gaze. And they stared at her for another minute.
"Are you sure you’ve got the right female?" Ash inquired, tilting his head as he stared at Ayra. "You said the F-rank female from Silvermoon tribe..."
"Yes. She’s the one," Commander Lynn assured.
Now confusion flooded their expressions as Ash said, "But if I remember correctly, that female was rather hideous. She wasn’t worth the eyes in many senses.." he tilted his head further. "But this female..."
"She’s the one. I wouldn’t fool you," Commander Lynn assured while they kept staring at Ayra, surprised. They couldn’t help but notice how different she was. Though she wasn’t gorgeous overnight and still had the faint displeasing appearance when properly stared at, she was still extremely different from what these tribe lords knew.
"Right, Commander Lynn wouldn’t possibly fool us. I suppose this female is the one pulling the bigger tricks now," Vale, the silver snake, stared closely at her.
Ayra hesitated and then spoke. "I wouldn’t dare try playing any tricks with you.. my lord," she stared at them. Ayra forced herself to be calm, steady and confident even though she was panicking within.
Vale raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? The female who flaunted her non-existent authority on us by disgracing our men and stealing our food.. certainly wouldn’t come here to fool us even after being exiled. Sure."
How sarcastic, Ayra thought, struggling not to roll her eyes.
Zark, the dragon lord, was calm and quiet for a while. Studying and staring at this female before he spoke. "I don’t have a lot of time to waste, so speak up. Who sent you? And what’s your motive? And what trick did you pull to achieve this feat?" His voice carried instant power that demanded immediate respect.
But Ayra kept her calm as she responded. "I’m an exiled F-rank female, abandoned to die by my tribe. It’s no news now, I suppose. So who could possibly want to use this useless female for anything?"
"And it’s clear I was exiled and then kidnapped into this tribe by your great commander here. I never wanted to stay here at all and asked him to send me off. So what motives could I possibly have?" She asked.
Silence. They stared at her for a while without saying anything.
And then Ash got up from his seat. His elegant piece of clothing holding up to his body while partially covering up his chest and leaving the middle open as he made his way close to where Ayra stood.
He pulled close, his orange ears tweaking as he stared at her. Ash leaned closer, sniffing her for a while and then pulling backwards while adjusting the flower tucked on his orange hair. Ash smiled as he went back to his seat. "What a nice smell, I must commend."
He went to his seat as he turned to Ayra. "Sweet fragrance. But there’s no faint scent of medication used to soothe male beasts here. So tell me, what did you use in your soothing session?"
Ayra hesitated. She guessed these male beasts thought she had applied some medication on herself so she could be able to soothe them. Because there was no way an F-rank could possibly do it.
Ayra smiled. "None. I had none of that," she casually replied as she stared at them.
"You dare to lie to us? I see you detest your life so much," Zark was cold with his words. "Because if you won’t say the truth, I see no need in keeping a female like you."
Ayra could tell he meant every word he said. This dragon would kill her without blinking!
"Even if I had some medication sprinkled around me, does it make sense that I was able to sexually handle all three of you without breaking down?" She smiled as she stared at their faces. "I mean, last night was wild for us all. And I’m certain all three of you had the wild pleasurable moment of pounding your heavy weights on me. So, tell me, how was a mere F-rank supposed to handle the wild sexual impulses of three S-ranks without breaking down halfway to death?"
She smiled. "But I’m still here in one piece, aren’t I?"
She could see the shock on their faces. She was indeed shameless with her words and she had intended to be so while teasing them to save her ass.
"Shameless," Zark muttered.
But Ash smiled. "Interesting," he leaned back, staring at her. freēwebnovel.com
Vale sighed. "I see the female has grown some brains to argue," he said. They were certain that the original host they knew wasn’t this outspoken at all. "There’s no need going back and forth with her anyways. A waste of time."
Ayra had a bad feeling about this. She stared as Vale turned to the wolves standing guard at the sides of the hall room.
"Take the female and burn her off immediately. We can’t keep her," Vale commanded.
"Yes!" The wolves chorused while they made their way to take her away.
But Ayra panicked at that moment. She searched her brain for all the Plan B she had made for such a situation. All the plans were fading off her mind at such a rush. She knew she had to think fast, she had to save her ass. And immediately she spoke without a second thought.
"You can’t eliminate me," she said, staring boldly at Vale. "Because that would also mean eliminating the first heir of the Tribe."
"..."
Silence. They stared at her, trying to piece together what she meant.
And then Ayra added, "Yes. That’s right. I’m pregnant with one of the tribe lord’s cubs. So killing me would automatically mean harming a tribe leader’s heir. I wonder if that is accepted?" She asked with a faint smile of triumph.
