Chapter 1474: Chapter 659: Within and Without
Protect...a mass of tumors?
Lu Qiaochun’s expression was peculiar.
The crowded masses discovered a cart suddenly arrived with horses. Initially ready to rush in and seize it, Fang Yu leapt up with Ding Hui, lightly stepping on a few heads, instantly causing the people around to calm down—these refugees, although numerous, were not unified, and those truly skilled in martial arts were actually a minority.
Monk Quan Heng immediately followed.
The three arrived before the Thunder Pillar...
"Get lost," Fang Yu shouted.
A wave of Qi pushed forward, instantly pushing all the people away from the fine Thunder Pillar, clearing an open space.
Monk Quan Heng immediately cast his gaze towards Fang Yu.
Unknowingly, Diao raised his hand and foot, already exhibiting the aura that a Martial Arts Grandmaster at the Wood Realm Peak possesses.
Recalling how Diao was once seen by him as merely a child who had just learned a bit of martial arts, never placing him in high regard...
Restraining his thoughts, Monk Quan Heng followed the two, joining in the study of the Thunder Pillar.
As the three were still preparing to study slowly...
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!!
The ground suddenly delivered a series of tremors.
Moreover, this tremor intensified with each sound!
This signified that something was swiftly approaching!
"This fluctuation...is that a Buddha statue?? Why are they coming this way?? Damn, it must be due to these refugees gathering in large numbers, attracting them!" Fang Yu remarked in shock.
"It’s demons disguised as Buddha statues," Monk Quan Heng corrected.
Fang Yu couldn’t care less, only glancing at Ding Hui still frowning while studying the Thunder Pillar.
The latter noticed Fang Yu’s gaze, stopped his actions, and looked towards Fang Yu.
Though neither spoke, it was as if their minds were in sync.
Only Ding Hui hesitated briefly, then slowly nodded.
"The Thunder Pillar’s power falls short of the Thunder Power when the Thunder Cloud descends, feels worth a try," she analyzed ambiguously, leaving Monk Quan Heng puzzled.
These two seemed to be enacting some sort of silent dialogue, leaving him feeling excluded?
Without waiting for Monk Quan Heng to react, Fang Yu, having been approved by Ding Hui, rushed directly towards the Thunder Pillar without hesitation!
"What?!"
Monk Quan Heng barely had time to intervene.
Crackle, crackle!!
Fang Yu’s body collided with the dense Thunder Pillars akin to a Thunder Prison.
-1!
-1!
-1!
-1!
-1!
Instantly, dense damage numbers erupted like a flood from Fang Yu’s head, draining seven to eight hundred hit points in the blink of an eye.
At this point, only a third of Fang Yu’s body had made it through the area covered by the Thunder Pillars.
This was due to his relatively fast speed and swift movements.
Even so, clearing through the Thunder Pillar entirely would at least cost two to three thousand hit points.
Furthermore, this was just the direct damage inflicted by the Thunder Pillars, accompanied by an intense feeling of thunder paralysis that almost instantly hindered one’s movements, feeling somewhat restricted.
"Diao!"
An unseen force was about to attach to Fang Yu’s body, but before Monk Quan Heng could start rescuing...
"Bone Armor!"
Crackle!
Bone Armor covered his body, instantly halving the damage with ’-0.5!’ numbers emerging, and the paralyzing sensation rapidly disappeared.
Any currents transmitted to his body spread to the ground along the Bone Armor, unable to cause additional impacts.
Seems...easy enough?
Fang Yu stared at the dense Thunder Pillars, his entire person resembling someone possessed by lightning armor, crackling non-stop with dazzling effects that would make uninformed observers believe he was electrocuted into a charred mess.
In reality, Fang Yu, inside here, was akin to bathing rapidly with water, the flow dense but harmless.
With Ding Hui and Monk Quan Heng’s astounded gazes, amidst the unbelieving eyes of the refugees in the back, Fang Yu strode easily through the Thunder Pillar Prison, emerging outside the Thunder Pillars.
Well...hum?
Just this, just this??
Fang Yu casually returned, standing next to Ding Hui and the others.
"Successfully passed through this easily?" Monk Quan Heng remained astonished.
What seemed a significant challenge actually wasn’t too troubling.
Through observing Fang Yu’s practical approach, Monk Quan Heng began grasping some insights, ideas emerging in his mind.
The tremor on the ground intensified, suggesting the unknown entity was drawing nearer.
Fang Yu’s gaze shot towards Ding Hui.
Evidently, at this stage, the difficulty of passing through the Thunder Pillar no longer lay with Fang Yu or Monk Quan Heng, but rather, how to enable the weakest Ding Hui to overcome this Thunder Pillar barrier.
Monk Quan Heng also frowned, floating half a meter above the ground, slowly drifting across.
The approaching lightning intensified instantly when nearing him, crackling and exploding around his edges, yet not harming his body, merely causing him to frown slightly before effortlessly passing through to the outside of the city.
"Master! Master, save me!!"
"High masters! Please save our family!"
"Sir! I’m willing to offer a hundred liang of gold! Begging you two masters to help our family leave Thunder City!!"
The crowd was in uproar.
While Fang Yu and the others were figuring out how to break through the Thunder Pillar, they were entirely oblivious to the significance their demonstrated ability to leave the city was for all the refugees trapped within the Thunder Pillar Prison around Thunder City.
