Chapter 322: Chapter 322: The Awakener Lord’s Appearance, Completing The Special Test

The [Awakener Lord] was extremely tall, standing at around two and a half meters in height, towering above literally everyone else in the entire kingdom, and he looked incredibly imposing just by standing still.

He had his chest completely bare, revealing his toned muscles underneath his tanned skin, and he was wearing pants that had faint magical particles emanating from them with every small movement he made.

In both of his hands he was wearing massive gauntlets that visibly gave him incredible physical strength, and on his face he had a dark, well kept beard along with a pair of sunglasses that hid his eyes from view.

"Managing to hold my four guardians at bay all by yourself like this," Aiden applauded slowly, a smile playing on his lips, "Truly incredible for someone at your level, I have to admit."

To the lord’s side stood a wolf like creature with deep crimson colored skin that let off a powerful aura all on its own, separate from the lord’s own pressure.

Even just looking at this beast, Leon already knew that this thing had already gone through at least one if not two full evolutions already, making it an incredibly strong pet that would be a nightmare to fight against in combat.

Pyra, even though she was much rarer in terms of her species than this wolf was, would stand absolutely no chance against it in a direct fight given the massive gap in their current power levels.

’I bet the [Pet Colosseum] in the [Eternal Battlefield] would love to have a powerful pet like this competing,’ Leon thought to himself briefly.

Even then, despite the wolf’s obvious strength and evolution advantages, Leon felt like his own [Primordial Dragon of Chaos] would be able to annihilate this pet easily even at level one, if he ever managed to actually hatch the egg that was sitting in his inventory that is.

"Let them go right now," Aiden gestured casually at his four guardians, "He completed the assigned task and came back successfully, he managed to outsmart us and our plans for him, so be it."

"Alright, lord, as you command," all four of the guardians said in unison.

All of the guardians knelt on one knee to show proper respect to Aiden, and then all of them rushed out one by one to return to their regular tasks and duties elsewhere in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Leon kept his staff raised toward the sky, the massive vortex above them all still swirling and present, the meteor still ready to fall at any moment.

Even if the four guardians had disappeared from his immediate view, the big boss was still standing right in front of him, so Leon refused to let his guard down for even a single second.

"Here you go, your well earned reward for completing the test," Aiden grinned widely at Leon.

Aiden snapped his fingers loudly at that exact moment, and immediately after the sound echoed through the street, Leon received a panel notification before his eyes.

Ding!

[You have completed the special test and gained access to the "Awakener District"]

"Oh wow," Leon gazed at the notification that appeared before him with genuine surprise.

He was taken aback that the awakener lord had actually allowed him to keep his reward and access the district without any further tricks.

It seemed... too good.

"Did you also receive that same notification on your end?" Celeste tilted her head in confusion as she checked her own panels, "I guess that’s pretty cool that we both got it, even though I didn’t really do anything..."

Hearing that unexpected information, Leon was quite surprised that Celeste had also been granted access.

He turned to look at the awakener lord with a suspicious and questioning gaze, trying to figure out what the man’s angle was in all of this.

"Even while she was in her phoenix core form, she was technically present there in the chamber and listened to the special test’s requirements from beginning to end," the lord shrugged casually, "So I consider that she completed the test as well alongside you, simple as that."

"Nice!" Leon nodded with satisfaction, genuinely pleased that both of them had gotten access.

It made things much easier than before for sure, and with that development, it also meant that only Emilia needed to complete her own special test before all three of them could access the [Awakener District] together as a group.

’In fact... what is even the point of doing that test in the first place?’ Leon asked himself internally.

Leon felt like it was more than enough if only he could enter the district, since he only wanted to check if there were some interesting things inside worth his time and attention to begin with.

If there was nothing good in there, he would simply get out of this higher domain and not come back until he was sure he could destroy the guardians in a fair fight, or at the very least destroy Mathilde who had killed Celeste back in that forest.

No matter what happened or how long it took, he would never forgive Mathilde for killing Celeste the way she had, and she would pay the price for that transgression eventually when he was strong enough to make her regret it.

Still, Leon could not deny the simple fact that he was not strong enough at this point to take on all four guardians at once, and pretending otherwise would just get him killed.

[Oblivion Meteor] was the only real leverage he had on all of them at this moment.

And for some strange reason that he could not quite explain, he felt like the [Awakener Lord] himself would actually be able to survive the meteor’s impact if it came down to that worst case scenario.

In fact, Leon did not doubt for a single second that the NPC standing before him had a [Forbidden Skill] of his very own tucked away somewhere in his arsenal, one able to wipe out anything in this place if he truly felt threatened by Leon’s display of power.

Once the awakener lord was done with his brief speech and his casual observation of Leon’s reaction, he simply nodded his head lightly before blitzing away from this spot faster than anyone could track with their eyes.

It was not teleportation since Leon could feel a massive gust of wind erupt from where the lord had been standing, but that also meant that the awakener lord was so incredibly fast that his movement speed was essentially akin to teleportation for all practical purposes.

’No wonder I did not sense anything at all when he appeared behind us earlier,’ Leon shook his head in reluctant admiration, ’Truly a powerful being, much stronger than I originally estimated.’

Leon knew he could not take this man lightly in any future confrontation, and if given the choice between fighting him or befriending him, he would much prefer Aiden as an ally rather than an enemy in the long run.

Though when placed against the true threats of the gods and their various servants, even the awakener lord would struggle massively in the [Eternal Domain], or even on the [Eternal Battlefield] where the real powerhouses clashed for supremacy.
